    Good luck with the treatment Dan 🙌 Your lawn looks fantastic your dog even better mate haha they both complement each other so long he/she is not peeing on it. Angus 10.4.4 ++ does wonders. Got to love that fertiliser, and that shady side close to the back garden looking so nice now compared to last season. Even though you have a massive tree.
    Any idea what are the gaps in between the verticutter blades? Did a cracking job, why pay more if it as good as a much more expensive one? If only it was a cordless 😂😂

    • @TheReelMowingMowingClub
      @TheReelMowingMowingClub  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Surgery up the bum, no harm done 🤣🤣🤣. Hoping for a cheeky mow today.
      Hunter only pees on the sides of this lawn so he's well trained in that regard. The back garden is a different matter!
      That's the only reason why I'll be looking for a cordless one! Cords are a nightmare!
      The gap is about a couple of inches I think (tip of the finger to the middle knuckle) so a groomer rather than verticutter will be more beneficial!

    Looking lovely mate. I have the same machine, called the 1100 because that is the power of the motor in Watts. The ALR 900 with the spring times has a 900watt motor, hence the numbers for the machines. Hope the procedure goes ok at the hospital. And I am sure you much prefer the kiss off the beautiful wife going to spend your money, than having a shiny new mower in the garage😂😂😂😂I made a stupid error with my avr1100 once, totally forgot the height adjuster does each side independently, so adjusted one side wheel thinking it lifts or lowers the whole machine, then wondered why one side of my lawn seemed to be cutting deeper😂😂😂and looked across to see the other wheel has a height adjuster also. So when I use mine always say make sure both sides are adjusted on the same number🙄🤦😂

      Ahhh. Makes sense. I was wondering if it was the revolutions it offers. The more you know!
      Procedure went well. Bit tender today! Sent home with a load of codine and morphine to get me through the next week.
      She was off getting treats for the kids sleep over and get me some supplies whilst laid up! She's a diamond and a kiss is all I need 🤣🤣🤣
      I'll always check the heights on the kit before use after I scalped the front lawn on a pass with the hayter! I dropped it onto setting 1 to use as a hoover to collect bits off the pavers and forgot to put it back up! 🤦🤦🤦🤪🤪🤪

      @@TheReelMowingMowingClub Glad to hear the procedure went well mate. Yeah nightmare if we get the heights wrong, but at least it recovers eventually. Going to use my avr1100 soon just for a light dethatch, but will do like you did and start on the highest setting, then lower it by one each time until I get the desired result. The Ransomes certes you mention are nice mowers, very old and quite hard to get hold of. They sell for big money also. But remember that the certes is a greens mower, so if you get one, you may have to mod it as I doubt it's maximum height of cut will allow any higher than about 15mm as it is designed for golf greens, bowling greens, tennis courts etc where mowing is generally about 4-8mm.
      I had to do the same with my greens zephyr by putting large diameter wheels on it, so I could use it mowing at 20mm.

    I did 2 passes with the scarifier cassette on my Liberty 43 today. I'm always amazed how much crap it gets out. The AVR1100 has an 1100 watt motor, hence the name. It's great for pre-overseeding as it cuts nice deep channels for seed beds. It's more akin to the Allett dethatcher, in that it can cut into the soil. Their verticutter doesn't penetrate the soil. It's confusing the different pieces of kit that do similar or different tasks, that have similar or different names 🤔

    • @TheReelMowingMowingClub
      @TheReelMowingMowingClub  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi Dave. That's what I've used this for in the past, scarifying and chanel making if you will.
      It is confusing! Thus is just my view on it really.
      For me it is power raking, grooming, verticutting and scarifying, in a gentle to aggressive ranking.
      Needs to be an industry standard!!! 🤣

  • @darrenm4378
    @darrenm4378 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Interesting video mate. I have the lawn raker attachment for my allett classic 12e and had no idea it could be used this way. I thought it was just for scarifying. I may have to move the height of cut up and try this. Thanks mate 👍

    • @TheReelMowingMowingClub
      @TheReelMowingMowingClub  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks Darren
      It's just my mind musings and opinion, and others may say differently on how to use attachments.
      Think the lawn raker from allet will be for moss and thatch removal mainly but a light pass over will afford the removal of dead matter from the lawn, stand up the poa and lateral growing plants which can be cut with a mow after and will help the lawn thrive.

    • @TheReelMowingMowingClub
      @TheReelMowingMowingClub  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Jack, thanks.
      It was a case of I needed to feed the lawn and the weather was perfect for the fertiliser, with the impending rain to wash most of it in and save my water bill
      Also, if the verticutting turned out wrong - the fert will have been accessible for the grass already to aid recovery

    Great video, I have been verticutting with the newer Bosch model ( got it new from EBay for £50 as the person thought it was a lawnmower) been using it every 6 week with great results. Do you think I should use it more often? Hope your hospital trip was okay 👍👍👍

      @@Ray_ray11 Even though Bosch sells replacement blades, I would contact Bosch first, because a reviewer on eBay bought blades, then stripped the machine down to find he couldn't change them. He contacted Bosch who in the end sent him out a new drum. So I wonder if the drum is bonded not allowing the blades to be removed.

    Go less deep in a diamond pattern or square for Cleaning dead material.go deeper if you have grasses with rhizomes to encourage the prorogation of new plants

    • @TheReelMowingMowingClub
      @TheReelMowingMowingClub  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Unfortunately the rye grass dosent naturally produce any rhizomes or stollons, something that you need to address with overseeding.
      I usually do a second pass at 45° when using the machine as a scarifier if you will.

    • @TheReelMowingMowingClub
      @TheReelMowingMowingClub  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I'll be doing the same. Only reason I haven't so far I suspect is because I use this machine for scarifying after scalping, it butchers the lawn when I rennovate.
      But a gentle combination over each month will be included from now on. !

      @@TheReelMowingMowingClub I added foam wheels to the gardena so it doesn't skid along the kerbs. I'm not sure why the webb cuts higher than it states. Possibly the roller floats on top of the grass the grass adding a few mm.
