Congrats on2K subs mate🥳🥳🥳🥳Looks a quality tool that mate. I did buy a pair of those cheap things to strap onto my shoes that have solid spikes underneath, and occassionally walk about the garden with them on punching holes into my lawns. But if the soil is too wet they tend to get stuck, and if too dry, hard to penetrate the soil. I sometimes then just jab at the lawn with a garden fork. But very rarely do it. Keep up the great content. Your front lawns are looking fab mate🥳🥳🥳
The aerator is great. Really well designed and no clogging at all. Loads of fun using it. Hunter is great too. Just enjoys surveying the street keeping an eye on things 🤣
He behaves 99% of the time with his wees on the side lawn! Sticks to the bushes. But the other day he squatted in the middle of the side lawn, looking at me whilst peeing! The sod! Hose pipe out and watered the area 🤣🤣🤣
Cheers david. The verticutting really helps with this, standing the grasses up to allow a better cut. Also helps to keep the mower in a straighter line too
I’ve had similar issues with my Oregon. Doesn’t help that it seems to happen once it’s fully loaded and then pressurised and to get at one of the filters you get a face full of iron and you spend the next couple days looking like Ross from friends 😂. Recent issue was with the tip, so just be mindful of that. I purchased new tips thinking the grey tip would allow for increased flow, but unfortunately it’s not the same dimensions as the red tip.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I'm an 8?!?!? I got a good squirt but washed off quickly! I can only think it was a build up of Ferrogranual as that is terrible to dissolve. I'll be cleaning them regularly from now on. Nozzle wise I'm sure there is some on at pitch care for a couple of quid each that are compatible
😬😬😬😬 this is why Andy made his company. Started with the compost rollers as at the time only landzie offered them at stupid money. I looked to get one but he was sold out this time last year. He's now doing the hand aerator and they're great. Horrible day today. Constant rain. Been at my lads football. 3 3 final score (he scored the second!) And it rained constantly!
So glad I had two girls hahaha, well done for him scoring tho....my grandson is on Liverpools and Man Citys book's constant training all the time running to and throw from Southport to Liverpool then to Manchester
@TheReelMowingMowingClub yes mate he does,he's Liverpools no 1 goalkeeper at under 7s,training and playing twic a week, but Man City trying to tempt him away
When you mentioned about your sprayer clogging-up, I've noticed that ICL Cal Mag is fine by itself. MolTurf & Seaweed are fine mixed together also. I've noticed mixing all 3 together caauses my sprayer to clog. May be best applying the ICL Cal Mag in a separate application I did that on Saturday with no problems.
I was concerned over this at the time but when I've done it previously I've had no issues to be fair. But when I dismantled the sprayer wand, the two plastic filters where full of grit and can only think this is remnants of the Ferrogranual. When that dosnesnt dissolve it does stick and gum up the wand. Did it to my old tool station spraye whereby I broke the handle off it trying to pump! Stocking filter always when using Ferrogranual!
If you use a filter bag like the ones used for wine making, fitted over the fill hole of your sprayer, it will help to stop your sprayer from clogging, when you put your chemicals in.
Hi garry. Did that in the past with some of the wife's old stockings ! She wasn't happy 🤣. Usually the stuff I use these days is gritt free. It's just the Ferrogranual that seems to bung up. Didn't seem that way when I sprayed on Monday last week but hey ho. Got some more stockings just in case!
Looks like a tough job mate when you've got lawns the size of yours especially when the soil is dry and hard; there's a lesson there - wait till it's wet. I've watched Andy go through the development of all his kit - it does look spot on, so if you want a quality corer, then Andy's would be my choice. Hope you composted the cores? Lawns looking great. I've still got some red thread so gave it a blast with high nitrogen last week but still need to reseed a few patches.
Cores went into the bushes! It was really easy in the softer stuff. Wetting agent arrived today so that should help the stubborn areas. Looking to crack on with the back this weekend, but keeping an eye on the weather because I don't want to make a right mess! A good dose of liquid nitrogen will help with the dreaded red thread. Also, it'll be used upnquite quick as people are concerned at high n levels this time of year ad cutting frequency drops
I did a tine aeration on my lawn purely for the drainage purposes and it did a trick. Otherwise I would not have done it. For the compaction I use a normal fork to punch holes once a year ✌️
I think the coring I did Saturday then topdressing with sand has helped loads especially with the amount of rain we had yesterday. Usually it would puddle up in the corner but this morning it was in good nick. Forking is the same as the soil tining. Can't see any difference. But that little lift before removing will make all the difference, as per the toro pro core 😀
@@TheReelMowingMowingClub same here. Used to get paddles in the middle of the lawn. It rained all day yesterday and it was nice to see no more paddles. On mine tine punches massive holes compared to forked ones and its much easier to use fork over tine, easy on my back 😂 I am thinking to get from Ebay roller aerator, add some weights on it and jobs will be a lot faster and easier. Only cost 18 quid. Useless on its own but when added weights from the barbell jobs a gooden.
Nice work mate lawn looks superb ,love the dog Timelapse was neat of you cutting lawn and his head going side to side 😂. Unfortunately recently lost my doodle miss him part of family ! Tried a few aerators seem to clog up resorted to forking it this time ,may well try that one …..subbed.
@125phr thank you! Yes, hunter is a staple on the channel! He is good enough to sit and watch me mow the lawn, and caring enough not to pee on it! The Andy Easter Lawn-Kit.com one is great, UK made and priper quality. If they do get blocked, a little WD40 helps.
Hi mate great vid as usual do you have a vid of all the granules and liquids you use for the lawn? If not are you able to list them here if possible? Thanks in advance
Morning pal. There's a couple of them on here on what I use. One from June where I talk about liquids. Main thing I use is the Angus Amenities 30% seaweed, and the liquid nitrogen either the ICL greensmaster which is nearly used up, or the bumper crop elixir feed. Then the other bits from green care like molturf or bio active green.
@@TheReelMowingMowingClub appreciate the reply ill have a look for the vid. Do you use these all year round? Whats your scheduling for use in the different seasons?
I try to get liquids on at least every 2 - 3 weeks, and granular every 6 -8 weeks but I just keep an eye on the grass, how it's looking and that will tell me what it needs. Will be looking to put some autumn fert down in about 5 weeks time. Something low nitrogen but high in potash and phosphorus to help the roots develop over winter
Thanks Greg. The sand question is a minefield. Best note I ever took was that it needs to be washed. If it's not washed, the salts and the lime can stunt germination, burn existing grasses and can also be harmful to kids too. Some people say you should only use sports sand, which is washed to the point where it removes the angularity of the grains, rounding the grains so they can't lock together, however this is expensive stuff. I've seen people have success with play sand and sharp sand too. For the back I'll be using washed grit, because the rootzone I've used in the past is very similar.
Too late in the season in my opinion to be doing anything as aggressive as core aerating now. Depending on where you are in the country/ world you could potentially get away with it, but it is a big big risk of nit repairing before the first frosts. Also, it's best to aerate as part of the first steps in a rennovation
If there is one tip I've got from this channel its I must try to run up and down faster! Your olympic cutting speed at the beginning is surely world record pace😅
@@TheReelMowingMowingClubI like the light hearted down to earth presentation but tbh I would sack the gimble operator, he clearly can't take your direction and may have had a few jars.

Enjoyed plugging the grass. Won't do it across the whole lawn with this though! Take me 2 weeks 🤣🤣🤣
