I took gabapentin for 50 days for sciatica pain.. love it .. sleepy for 1 wk, no pain for 7mos.. now on and off sciatic pain👍
I just got on a higher dose and it's awesome
@@HeatherSmith-ii7mi be very careful. I went up to 3000mg a day for sciatica and ended up shaking when I took it and convulsing when I didn’t, it took months for my dck to start working again.
It made me stay awake all night.😢😢
My husband was thinking of suicide and hes not taking it anymore. ME EITHER, BAD, BAD, DRUG

I had insomnia on it also.
Probably you're taking other things that's causing that because gabaoentin knock you out
@@llisagomez5706 So, because gabapentin knocked you out that means everyone is exactly like you. The package insert that lists insomnia and sleepiness as a common side effects is wrong, you are the ultimate authority about gabapentin.
@@llisagomez5706 that is not true, our body chemisty is all different. just like weed some people get super chill on it and others get hyped up and paranoid.

How are you feeling today? I'm on gabapentin too. Its making me slur words and feel like my brain can't focus . It's helping my pain though
So I’ve heard that gabapentin makes people feel relaxed and sleepy, but it does the complete opposite for me I was prescribed gabapentin for panic disorders, and
whenever I take gabapentin I feel very hyper and in sane and motivated and I’ve never heard of anyone else being affected by gabapentin in that way and I’m just trying to figure out why that is and I can’t really find in any information about it
It gives me a pick-me-up also. And increased libido... 😂
But it's the only thing that has helped my anxiety and helped my pain besides opioids. Gabapentin has been a miracle drug for me. It loosens me up. If I skip it, I get very stiff and hurt worse. I had a bad accident and broke nearly every bone in my body and have had so many surgeries. I'm FULL of metal plates and screws. I've got them in my arms, collar bones, legs, even have rods in my hips. I was born with Spina bifida and a hip deformity where my hips are a bit lopsided. I also have an autoimmune rheumatic disease. I have psoriatic arthritis. So if it improves my movement, helps ease my pain, and helps me get what little sleep I can: It's a MIRACLE drug. And the only way you can abuse it is taking MASSIVE amounts and it's not NEARLY as addictive and dangerous as opioids. It's truly a miracle drug for people who are in agony 24/7 and have anxiety. It has been a GODSENT for my anxiety also. It kills several birds with one stone.

Describe your accident.
I take it for executive dysfunction (ADHD.) I take it in the morning on days I need to be extra productive. I don't take it every day/as prescribed bc I hear it causes tartive dyskenisia (sp?) Plus it stops working nearly as well (at least for executive dysfunction) if you take it every day. I stopped for a couple of months and now I take it just a handful of times a month.
Your smart for this, for real. Yeah a certan percentage of folks if they take it they can run lik 30 miles without fatigue where as normally they wouldn't leave their chair. Geeze their prescribing it for ADHD now, didnt know
Gabapentin gave me visual hallucinations. I'd wake up in the owning and turn my bedside lamp on and notice a trail where my hand had been. I told my doctor and he stopped it. It's been about 7-8 years andI still se patterns on walls sometimes. Our hallway leading downstairs is red but when I focus solely on the wall, the paint looks crakled. If Ijust goupordown the stairs and don't focus on it, it's just red. When zi wake up and look at our bedroom walls (focused on the wall) I see patterns on the wall. Needless to say, no more gabapentin for me or my dogs. Since my vet uses it for pain.
Wow this has been happening to me recently.
It made me very irritable, spacey, hungry & sleepy, and didn’t help my pain that much!

I take 2400 ml of this medication a day. Great for hot flashes if you are going through menopause.
Gabapentin did nothing for me
Same! Actually caused more burning and tingling
Same here, no change in burning sensation. Started at 300mg/day after 5 weeks increased to 600… still no charge. Briefly tried 900 but it was unmanageable to take 3 (300mg) doses per day. Weaned myself off of it. Then switch to 75mg/day Pregablin (Lyrica) and had almost immediate reduction in burning sensation.

Pre gabalin is good molecule some time leads to more drousy than gabapentin, but if you tolerate it, is good😮
It keeps me up!! I'm 56
I only take it at night. Day time causes depression and lethargy

I was addicted the first pill I took-the best sleep I’ve ever had but when I woke up 3-4 hours later my body went through hell. I desperately took another pill to sleep again because read above 👆 entry explanation on what happened to me.
