    As an HVAC technician, my absolute favorite wera tool I have is the tool check plus. I use it almost every single day. Would highly recommend

      It's one of my favorites. The thin profile ratchet gets me into so many places. And the bits are phenomenal.

    Look, as much as I love wera and their tools, i HAVE to give a shout out to PB Swiss, especially their swissgrip VDE screwdrivers. I've been using them for 9 years, every day in concrete pre fab electrical installation in rain, snow, salty melted snow and they won't fail. Even with rust spots they still have a perfect geometry, they never snapped the tip like happened on my Wera screwdrivers, not even at almost 2.8Nm. They handle chiseling out screws from concrete, water leveling sockets under tension, prying open stuff. An the wetter your hands get in even the slipperiest gloves, the grip actually INCREASES. I told my coworker he couldn't twist the screwdriver in my hand with a water pump pliers on the tip, he couldn't, my grip was that strong on the handle.

      💯. My job uses a lot of oil and it gets over everything and collects dirt in every nook and cranny. I now make a habit of breaking everything out and cleaning the tool and box every couple months.

    I bought the Zyklops pocket in March. I debated for a long time because of the price, but I pulled the trigger. I wished I wouldn’t have waited so long. This thing covers 90% of my service calls. With this thing, my utility knife and a pair of diagonal cutters, I almost never go back to my truck.
    For reference, I work on banking equipment so your mileage may vary, but I absolutely love this thing.

    When it comes to insulated tools, especially ratchets and torque wrenches I find Cementex to be my favorite brand. They are known for being very safe and reliable.

    Oh yes! The WERA Stuff is just so nice to work with! All the little details that make their tools easier to use, more durable and just feel and look more high quality than pretty much everything else! I'm a bicycle mechanic and couldn't agree more that the hex set is simply superior to competition in so many ways. My favorite would be the their smallest ratchet. Working in tight spaces there's nothing even close to this and even the mini version by WERA is ratet for higher torque than most other normal sized ones...
    I have my doubts, they even know how to produce something not high end... 😅😅😂😂

    I keep a Klein magnetic 11in1 and the 14in1 security tweaker in my pouch. If wera made their own versions of those I’d be interested. Until then I’ll stick with Klein

    I have the allen key set. It is invaluable. I've put things like furniture together and used the included Allen keys only to have them strip out the included bolts or round themselves off. After which I inevitably have had to grab my wera set which is then able to fit into the head of the bolt and get it to a very high torque level with no difficulty whatsoever. I've got no idea at this point how much wobbly furniture I'd have if not for my wera Allen keys. Other sets I've had included t bar and driver style. Neither have the super tight fit of the Wera set that means they never slip or strip.

    Great review! I really like a lot of the Wera products too.
    A nice feature is how the fixed drivers have the size of the bit printed on the end of the handle. Sadly on my ordinary green drivers, the numbers rubbed off in no time.

    the zyklops line is really awesome, i'd love to see someone or wear make a bigger set as i work on trucks rather than elecrtics.
    edit just found out that wera does make a bigger one at 1/2"drive. wondering if others do the same/similar for cheap.

    Wera tools aee the shit. Here in the states some guys are catching on to brands like wera, wiha and knipex. I own very few klein tools now a days. I will say the square/flat bit is awesome. Milwaukee calls them mcx i believe. Best torque out there. Perfect for set screws.

    You forgot my 2 favorite wera tools. The DEMO driver with all black handle now that's a beater. And one that really grew on me rhe wera/vessel ball handle screwdrivers. There wera screwdriver made in check Republic with lazer tips but have the vessel ball grip! They are truly a pleasure to use.

    I like the hex-plus allen key set. I have the metric set and use it regularly. HOWEVER, the plastic sleeve has caused me issues to where it doesn't fit into tighter spaces with recessed fasteners. I find that the Wiha magic ring hex set is a much better option.

    00:09 I'm really unimpressed with all of their screwdrivers for their low quality markings on the handles. They wear off quickly leaving you pulling out 3 screwdrivers to find the right one. It seems like a little thing but think about how many times you need to grab a screwdriver. For me that is about 20 times a workday. I work about 2-300 days a year. 20x300=6000. you miss three times each time thats 18000 misses a year. Who's gonna pay me for that time? Noone. Or my family. I know I might exegerate a little. But you get the point.

    The Allen Keys with the plastic coating aren't that good. The plastic tube is getting loose after a while and then turns freely on the (round) allen key. Can't twist the long side quickly any more…

    Wera has innovative stuff but their quality seems not so great sometimes. On multiple screwdrivers the tip just broke off during normal use and the set of allen keys is only good as long as the sleeves are on. They tend to fall off pretty easy and than the allen key will fall out of the sheath and get lost. Never had so much problems with "German" tools but most of Wera's stuff isn't produced in Germany anyway

    IMO the snap-on hard handle screwdrivers are the best on earth. I know they are over $150 for a set. However, Williams has the same exact set (100% the same) for $30-$40. I have 2 sets of the Williams and 1 set of the snap-on that I don't use anymore becuase they are 30 years old.

    • @americanelectrician
      @americanelectrician  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Outside of being a mechanic I would chose any other brand. There’s a reason you don’t see snap on tools on job sites and it isn’t because they’re too expensive

  • @PokerMuppet
    @PokerMuppet หลายเดือนก่อน

    Maybe it's a US thing but I haven't seen Philips screw heads in years and that's in general electrical, BMS and data... everything is Pozi and no, they are not the same. Also, if anyone is working with electrical, why would you not buy the VDE versions? Not one of the Wera screwdrivers have visible identification markings so when put away, they all look the same, that is poor. You recommend them purely based on their price and mention nothing about general safety of working with electricity, nor do you even explain about the 'lines' on the tips... you say they work but you don't mention what they actually do! You seem more interested in how tools look rather than being the correct tool for the job. Again, hot works is anything that can give off sparks (grinder) or cause a fire... working on live services is not 'hot works'... Not that anyone should be working live in the first place. Proper chancer.
