Given the rarity and significance of Accutron engineers' achievement, it's astounding that more attention has not (yet) been paid to their accomplishment. Congratulations to them, and may their achievement be more widely recognized!

I own this watch, with dark gray dial, not the blue dial.
I really love it! It's very different then my Omega's, Glashutte Original, etc..
I did get a pretty substantial discount from my dealer, and I also have an 8" wrist. This would not look good on a small, narrow wrist.
Certainly not for everyone, but I find myself wearing this timepiece very frequently. It's comfortable, keeps amazingly accurate time and is something very different to check out during the day.

Would this one work on abt a 6.5in wrist super interested in one. Hope that size can pull it off

@@Kwoka_king16 might be too big for a wrist that size

Definitely think Accutron deserves a bit more attention and recognition in the horological world. thanks for the presentation.

    I love it!! 🥰😍🤩
Accutron is a superior brand, and *extremely* under-rated, in my opinion. I'm actually wearing a Bulova Accutron automatic diver watch today. It's elegant, has a fantastic stainless steel bracelet, is strong, and very accurate! Bought it new during a crazy 50% off sale at a local jeweler back in 2007, after wanting it since 2006. 🥲
It's about 42mm not including the crown, and have never had any problems with it since getting it serviced a couple years after purchase, due to a rotor issue where it wasn't really winding. Now it's been flawless for over a decade! I wear it here and there, and sometimes it rests in a watch box for 6 months + at a time. Then I wear it for a couple weeks or months, always taking good care of it.
    Highly recommend Accutron watches.
This one you show here is stunning, I'm going to have to purchase one ASAP! 😮

Cool technology, for sure. I'd wear one if they could get the size down a bit. The current version is just too large for my 7" wrist.

Love mine. Got the dna in rose gold. My fave in my collection by far. So many comments on it

I love it! I love seeing something different. In this world where everything is looking the same; I gravitate towards the unusual. I remember getting our the first 2003 Nissan Murano and how different it was. Now all SUV's look the same. I would purchase this watch because it's different. 45mm is my limit in size but it looks like the band is integrated nicely with a down turn lug.

I had a vintage Accutron several years ago when I first started collecting watches. I thought it was a great little niche watch that was very unique and had a good story to tell. I appreciate the new version and it also has a story to tell buuut for the price I could think of probably 20 other watches I would rather have.

Cool technology, I am looking forward to seeing what they do with this brand. Hopefully some more restrained designs in the collection.

Seeing this in person really changed my mind on it. I'm split on my next watch, was looking at getting a Longines Spirit or Conquest but man, seeing the DNA line in person has me rethinking it. If it were under $3k it would be a lot easier pill to swallow because of the rubber integrated strap.

Im really attracted to this watch. Unique movement and exciting dial. Im even considering getting this over a grand seiko. But im just a little concerned how robust it is, although i havent done any research yet.

I wanted this watch BAD for my 40th Bday……but when I finally had it in my hand I just couldn’t convince myself it was worth the coin. Still want it though…..lol.

Ironically I am considering this watch for my 40th lol. I knew of it but was not impressed until I saw it in person. I just wrestle with the size since I have 6.75" wrist. Only reason I still think about it is because it is SO different.

regarding the finishing--hello Bruce, thanks for the content; I am not so sure about the price vs finishing, if you look at the hands, they still have irregular marks that were not brushed properly, Bulova has to improve on the finishing, not fair to pay so much and the brushing is some what poor

I've got an original factory Spaceview, and that old tech still hums along as it should. I really think they should bring that back in a nice 40mm case. Hell, Omega licensed the technology for some of their vintage pieces.

    • @rickaldridge3816
      @rickaldridge3816 ปีที่แล้ว

They pretty much did with the 50th anniversary model, though probably closer I think to 42mm.... Only 1000 made and was released over a decade ago but the turn up from time to time.. I managed to get one as loved the space view but the originals were just too small for me

The tech is cool but that design with the dome makes it look super outdated.
Also the level of finishing on the few polished surfaces (the hands mostly) is a let down for that price tag.

The bad thing about this watch is that if you break the glass it will cost more than 60% of the cost of the hole watch. Disappointing.
