      Yup Toys in the Attic and Rocks sometimes Draw the Line I think in that order, old School. Must have seen Aerosmith at least 15 times but have not seen them in about 10 years. To much material after Pump that I don't want to hear.

    • @ChicagoBeaver
      @ChicagoBeaver ปีที่แล้ว +10

      @@frankperricone2065 You like Draw the Line that much? It's excellent but personally I like Get Your Wings just a tad more with songs like "Seasons of Wither," and "Train Kept a Rollin," "Lord of the Thighs," "Same old Song and Dance," those songs meant a lot to me in my turbulent teen years.

    • @frankperricone2065
      @frankperricone2065 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@ChicagoBeaver Don't get me wrong, I like the first 5 Aerosmith albums and though Draw the Line was the perfect name for that Album it was a heavily influenced by there Cocaine habits and its a miracle that they got that very hard rock album done because Night it the Rutz, there next album was pretty bad. And the Draw the Line tour was the first time I saw Aerosmith, so that's part of it. Then of course comes Rock in a Hard Place with now Joe and I saw them in couple of hundred people venue on L.I. New York and were terrible, by then without Brad Whitford also and Tyler looked like he was 100lb. I would take any of the first 5 albums over there last 5. And it's a shame the last time I saw them was about 10 years ago because they have to much material after Pump that I don't want to hear. Must have seen them 10-15 times and the last time I saw them did not like the set list, I would love to see them play one more time but only play the songs they wrote before they first broke

    • @ChicagoBeaver
      @ChicagoBeaver ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@frankperricone2065 That's true about Draw the Line. I read somewhere that by that time, they each had their own huge house/mansion and lots of $$ and were all basically holed up doing their drugs. That's where that famous line from Joe came from, he said they were "Drug addicts playing music, not musicians doing drugs." They would go into the studio once a week, separately, lay down some tracks for a few hours, then split back home to get loaded. All the magic songwriting, as a band disappeared completely. I bought "Night in the Ruts," which I loved but I don't think it had a single. Jimmy Crespo played on some of that album instead of Joe Perry. Then I purchased "Done with Mirrors," and that's about when I got a little saddened with them. I knew they had lost the magic. It wasn't until Run DMC put out "Walk This Way," that the public generated more from them and I guess management pushed them to get it together. I was happy for their success with Pump but I also didn't really like their music after that. "Love in an Elevator," "Rag Doll," "Angel," doesn't compare to any songs from Rocks and Toys. Like my coworker always says "It is what it is." Check out their TH-cam videos from their very recent shows in Vegas, they definitely still can rock.

Brad Whitford was writing , recording and touring on songs that were selling millions on records , while Rick Beato was just beginning to play guitar , in fact , probably inspired Beato to learn guitar. So, my point is - your comment shows a lot of ignorance on your part. Great players - in fact:NOBODY- just picks up a guitar and sounds amazing, cold, off the cuff , first time putting hands on a guitar for the day. Guitar was slightly out of tune to begin with, and the camera mic/amp ambiance sucked for audio for this video. Brad Whitford is no “sloppy” player- and anything he does that would be considered sloppy, would be other players’ A/B game playing

    Whithford is a fantastic guitar player. Many people overlook the second guitar player rol in a band, but in order to play in a band like Aerosmith (G'n'R, AC/DC, Iron Maiden, Whitesnake, Scorpions etc…) you have to be a very solid musician (a lot of non profesional guitar players can play a solo but have serius trouble in keeping a steady rhythm). The great thing about having a band with two guitars is how they both complement each other. For instance: check how Keith Richards & Ronnie Wood work together in the Rolling Stones, is just like a conversation.

  • @SahiraSound
    @SahiraSound ปีที่แล้ว +4

    This should be common knowledge but I'll repeat it here for the kids in the back. Brad whitford is a graduate of Berkelee academy of music. He actually has training in music theory and composition. However, he has always been content to take a less conspicuous role in aerosmith's songwriting and stage presence. However when you identify the songs upon which Brad whitford played the guitar and the songs that he wrote it becomes quite apparent who has the actual guitar chops. Brad whitford composed songs like round and round last child and nobody's fault. Brad played Lead guitar on some of aerosmith's most impressive compositions such as Lord of the thighs, spaced, you see me crying, and back in the saddle (it's important to note that Joe Perry did not even play guitar on this song he played six string bass, all guitar duties on this, probably aerosmith's greatest composition were handled by Brad whitford) As it turns out Brad and Joe work together extraordinarily well Brad can take Joe's riffs and licks and make sense of them and that's what makes Aerosmith work. Both of them acknowledge that they need each other and ultimately it doesn't matter what any of us think, it's their partnership and it works.

      Sad, but absolutely true. Saw them in 1978, and only SAW them. The band, and the PA, were so fucked up, it took 2 - 3 minutes, each song, just to figure out what they were playing.

    When it comes to translate what Producers are sayin theoricaly to Artist like Joe and Tyler....this guy comes in.....what i am sayin is that he the most versatile Brain when comes to set a riff into a chart and beyon.....he's a major back bone to my point of views.

    Such an influential guitarist! I remember Brad in the late 70's when I thought Joe Perry played the solo's but no, Brad played just as much and has always kicked ass! When is the last time you heard dirt on Brad? Never.....

    Joe for the most part is the creative force of Aerosmith whereas Brad is the trained technical guitarist that holds it together...and I am sure he has added many creative thoughts himself

    No body ever gets it done right when it comes to most classic cover especially that one.Whenever this particular original song is played,the only thing really heard first is Bills complicated lead guitar licks,then Steven's main prime lyrical vocals. More people who try hard to play that part,mostly never get it right,nor stay in pace with the mix ,or pull out before the bridge,without screwing up their rhythm of a certain original change.
