It's always a pleasure to hear Brad play and talk about his passion for guitars. He's incredibly talented and a really cool guy.

Love Brad Whitford. My first concert was Done with Mirrors tour at MSG 9th grade. Got my first Aerosmith album years earlier in 2nd grade, Toys in the Attic. Was hooked from then on…

He plays around here locally in Boston with Johnny A . Seen them a bunch over the past few yrs. I absolutelt think he has been overlooked as a real contender. Great player and super nice guy .

    Preferably in 3 tone sunburst.

Joe is the Kieth Richards of the stones, or the Slash of G'n'R. meaning, he's the guy who gets the most attention from guitar players. Obviously Brad is also an amazing player!

Brad Whitford is a great Stratocaster and Les Paul player, and I think he deserves just as much recognition as Joe Perry

Mr Whitford is a master guitarist. Such a tasteful player. Fans like to compare Perry and Whitford. They're both ace players, different styles. And they compliment each other so well.

Check out Aerosmith's Coolest Ever Rats in the Cellar Video! Brad does a lead solo in that song that will make the hair on the back of your neck stand up!! They compliment each other very well in their style of music. I think they are both great! Have loved Aerosmith since "forever" lol. Check it out if you haven't already, and reply back. Interested in what people have to say! Thx!

On the whole, I agree with Brad Whitford that Fender has generally done a good job of building these new American Vintage instruments. They sound great! That said, my son just purchased the '56 Stratocaster of this series and discovered several flaws in the workmanship that should have been caught by quality control but was overlooked. The guitar's price here in On. Can., $2,300.00 retail before tax. Fender needs to shape up. You would not see this kind of sloppiness with PRS instruments.

Awesome video! My Seymour Duncans CA 50's Set pickups sound practically identical to this tone. If there's a difference, most people couldn't tell. I'm sure the neck, body, etc give it a difference in a better way. Anyway, he is better than Joe.

Joe Perry does have some tasty licks though in my opinion. I have no opinion of who's better. They're both so different that its impossible to decide.

Teachering u are right. Several years ago Guitar Center had a $6k custom shop built by the guy who was making Claptons at the time. The whammy bar hole was misaligned! U could not install the whammy bar! This was verified by myself and friends but more importantly was verified by the Guitar Center techs. The rumor was that QC was very sloppy on others too. I had hoped it was better. My first run EJ rosewood strat was perfect and I got that later.

I do not agree that the new ones are better. The vintage guitars pre CBS are unbeatable. However, it is convenient on the road.

I like large headstocks! Really convenient with hanging on the wall. I know about the heaviness and finish, but the modern iterations (Classic Player/AM Special) don't have those problems. Also, it wasn't the all time low, that would be the early 80's. Nothing made in America? Check. Flimsy vibrato? Check. General despair? Check.

It's too bad. Fender made these guitars really nicely, but the round lam fingerboards on the AVRI '65s are actually twice as thick (or more) than any vintage post-'63 Strat I've ever seen.
I think it's where there's ONE thing that is an eyesore that I just wish they just nailed. Although, wishing for real perfection kind of goes against the philosophy of rock 'n roll, I guess.

I really, really like the aesthetics of the 70's better. And the modern ones like Am Std are cool too.
This guitar feels odd to me, even a little cheap.

I really wanted one of these tried one and it was shite really disappointed. The plastics were really cheap crap the neck wasnt anything like a 65. The lacquer was sticky and overly thick especially on the back of the neck. Love fender always will but the 65 reissue i tried was bad really bad.

The 70's Fenders were the most horrible guitars made. That was fenders all time low. The guitars were heavy, had that plastic finish and had those large head stocks. All in all terrible.
