It's 2023 and the vp9/vp9sk are still my favorite striker fired guns.
I bought all Glock, shot the VP9, fell in love, sold all my Glocks except the G43X- haha. I am looking hard at the VP9SK or P30SK now, haha.
anyone ever noticed that on the gun channels in TH-cam there's always drama and people fighting back and forth although you never see Hickok in those headlines you never hear him talk bad about other gun channels for this I respect him at the highest level

Maybe the Glocks win the dimensions and measures comparison, but when I shot a G26 and the SK one after the other, the H&K is the pistol that is easier to keep on target and shoot well. That is the important thing.

I've had my vp9sk for about a year and a half and it always feels good in my hand and looks awesome as well. As Hickok said, you can feel the quality. 👍🏻
I just purchased one. I’ve had Sigs, Glocks, Berrettas, and this beats them all in my opinion. It is on the heavy side for a compact

Concealed Carry Yes but Open Carry No. It Also Depends On Your Body Build. Smaller is Always Great for Concealed Carry.

Glocks are ok.... S&W's are ok.... But when I touched a vp9 and shot a tight group at 25 yards out. It was love lol
Same. Was about to buy a Glock 26 and then fired a VP9sk. Went with the VP9sk and load Critical Defense in it
I also own the VP9SK and absolutely love that gun. You can just feel the quality and it shoots great, and I for one really like the paddle release for the mags.
My first gun was the h&k vp40, I'm spoiled now. Lol

I have my VP 9 going on 8 months now and I love it. It melds right into your hand. The accuracy of this sidearm is unbelievable. The shot groups at 3,5,7 and 12 yard distances were nice and tight groups, 25 yard was a little bigger shot group. I fired over 2000 rounds so far and no jams or malfunction.
Literally in the same boat. Bought the vp9 tactical. Best gun ever

I've been a Glock guy for about 1,000 years. Once I held the P30/VP9 platform, I was in love. Both are officially in my carry rotation.
Just ordered a VP9 (full size) and my "LIFE IS GOOD" cap just arrived from your store. Life IS good!
I've always like the fit & grip angle of HK's. I tried most brands, but HK seemed to fit like a glove and obtain a natural aim. Not brand loyalty, just personal feel.

Yup, striker fired pistols are pretty common because many companies copied features of the ORIGINAL polymer framed, striker fired, large capacity (18 rounds), 9mm pistol, the HK VP70. Hickock, I know you are aware of this, since you mentioned it in the full sized VP9 review, but many people credit that Austrian company that made THEIR VERSION 12 YEARS LATER.
Mainly because Glock's version has been so gigantically more successful in terms of sales / ownership.

Bought a hkvp9sk and hkp30l. Between the ergonomics and triggers, these guns are very confidence inspiring.. Money well spent..
Hickok is probably the coolest guy on any gun channel, I respect his reviews because he’s obviously been around handguns shooting them for a long time, if I’m thinking about buying another handgun I look for his reviews because I trust his opinion and reviews
Bought this as my first, got to the range and it was immediately easy to operate for a first timer, I have a lot of rifle experience but this was my first pistol and so far so good
Hickok45, I've been watchin your videos a long time, and they just get better and better. I plan on gettin a gun in the next month or so for home defense for my new house and thanx to you I have more knowledge on what to get than I ever have
Today I shot my brand new vp9sk for the first time. It is a beautiful gun. I am not a marksman or anything like that, and I can say, shooting, just at 7 yards today, I was able to hit the target, even got some bulls eyes. Put 250 rounds through it. Switching to my G43, bulls eyes did not come easy. And I like my G43 too. I agree with Hickok45 it is a gun worth owning/shooting. Fits nice in my hand with the factory fitted grips. Took all my FMJ 115 grain ammo, no problems. And Thanks for the video Hickok45.

Is it concealable easily? It worries me how much bigger it looked than the glock 26

The best groups I've ever shot was with my VP9sk. Great gun. Very comfortable to shoot with an excellent trigger right out of the box
I have a P30SK, by far most comfortable sub compact I’ve shot.
I know this is an old video but I wanted to say that I bought one of these pistols about one year ago at my local Cabela’s and had never shot it until three days ago. I took it to the range and shot 200 rounds flawlessly. It feels great in the hand and seems to shoot accurately. I’m going to make it my new daily carry pistol. To top it off it’s fits perfectly in an old Galco holster I already had.

The VP9SK replaced my glock 26 which I sold because I fell out of love with it. I took it out of the box and I shot it relentlessly with all kinds of ammo and no issues feeding or ejecting 1000 rounds later.
I bought the Walther PPS years ago and ever since then i’ve fallen in love with the paddle release. Feels weird at first but it’s actually more natural once you get used to it
I've been a proud member of the NRA for 40 years now. Great shooting Hickok, and great shooting by you too John. I enjoy all of your channels, and listening to the radio shows while sitting by the fire pit with a nice Padron. (And beverage of the day). Thanks for all of the entertainment.
I have a full size USP with a similar magazine release on both sides of the trigger. Having smaller hands, I really love the fact that instead of readjusting my grip to hit the release with my thumb, I simply keep my hand where it is and hit the right hand side release with my pointer finger. In fact, the ergonomics are why I went for it over a 1911.
Had mine for 1 year now. Wouldn't trade it for anything. Your video helped me make up my mind... Thank you! Plus the 3 different variations for the grips are amazing!
Are you having any issues taking down the pistol? Meaning, removing the slide
Slightly longer grip and modest more weight make the HK much more shootable. Far better ergonomics than the block 26
I just bought a VP9 and VP9sk, and was really leaning between those and the Glock 19, and M&P9 2.0. The Glock just felt dead in my hands, like a brick and had no connection to it. The VP9 (and M&P) feel so good in the hand but HK backs it up with the trigger and quality. I don’t get all of the fuss about Glock besides their reliability!
@@ProfessorSteez 33round mags. 17, 12,15 rounds, pretty sweet if u ask me. G26 is a smaller gun too.

I have the vp9 and I love it. And I am considering getting the vp9 sk for concealed carry because I am left handed and it's a tough, accurate gun.

I own the vp9 and I love it. It’s so smooth and feels perfect in my hand. Didn’t like the kickback and feel of the glock. Definitely will buy vp9sk

This was my first ever sidearm and I cannot think of a better fit for me. I will never own a glock after having this beast
Never understood glocks, pretty much everybody who likes them is such a little fan boy. I've shot my fair share of them and I absolutely hate them.

Glocks are cheaper. Glock parts are easier to find. Everyone has one. They’re not special but they work. I own a VP9 and I prefer it lol

Love your yard. I'm from Idaho and we love our outdoors and our country. Believe you're in Tennessee, another beautiful place I spent a little time in. Long way from my state but believe we share commonalities of culture. Protect the Constitution protect your family. Great review on a great gun I trade off and on with my Walther PDP as my duty gun.

Glock will always have a special place in my heart, but I recently switched my EDC to VP9. The superior trigger, ergonomics, etc are hard to beat!
Yep, great gun. It's a great time to be a shooter; in addition to all the wonderful historical firearms available, the number of high quality defensive polymer pistols keeps growing. So many great choices.
Did you go with the full size or SK? I shot a friends VP9 and I fell in love man. It was so damn accurate and comfortable
A 13 round mag in the VP9 SK gives you a full grip and 13 plus 1 capacity. Conceals very well. And it fits like a glove, as the cliche goes. Can hardly miss with it.

The charger wings was one of the,selling points for me .Esp for those with a,weak grip and,arthritis.
The charger helps in the slide, over all the ergonomics is one of the best , UK VP9 LEA5, ordered on Monday, from Academy should be ready to pick up Thursday and,then str to the,range with this bad boy!
A great compliment to my SP XDm 5.25 40SW, which I love shooting. The recoil is surprising very minimal for a,40sw.feels great in the hand

I love my VP9SK. I do not know why people talk so much about the paddle release. It is very easy to use without breaking my grip. I prefer it.
Yeah I know right? People grow up with the American style releases and hate paddles for being different.
I've got a 320c, a P30sk, and a VP9sk. All great shooters, but of the 3, I like my VP9sk the best. (And 10 rds doesn't bother me. I live in The Peoples Republic of Massachusetts)

Your so right. If you can hit what you aim at your choice is best. Glock or this HK just make it that much easier to get good quick.

just got this gun over the weekend. couldn't be happier this is my 1st h&k gun.
I found the slide lugs to be a very useful feature. If you shoot in hot weather, your hands can perspire and it really helps having that extra leverage.

This gun looks great. I have been very jaded towards both H&K's and Sig's because of a few experiences. I am a glock/XD man (leaning heavily glock) but watching a glock guy shoot that well and love on an H&K makes me very interested. If this comes in 40, a caliber I do not yet own, I am in.

I recently bought a VP9SK and finally got to take it to the range yesterday and I absolutely love it! I have owned several subcompact pistols but this is by far the best one I've ever owned or fired. This gun is really easy to shoot well and the grip is perfect to me. Are you going to measure the distance from the trigger to the blackstrap? Or the circumference around that? Trigger reach we could call it? It would vary on some guns with removable back straps but some people would find that useful. Love your videos.

The grip texture on these P30 and VP9 series guns is fantastic. It's more of a pattern of tiny crescents rather than an abrasive grit. No grip tape crap needed, because they don't slide around in your hand, yet they don't grind into my belly skin while carrying IWB under a tee or polo.

I shot a couple of magazines worth through my new HK SK in about 5 deg F weather yesterday. With first mag., I hit about 8 of 10 plates on my Shooting Tree from about 12 yards. Very impressed; felt great, already like it better than my Glock 26.

500+ rounds through mine everything from 115 grain to 150 and zero malfunctions or failures to feed i love mine. I put a crimson laser grip on it and looks like something robocop would carry

O yes the good old HK VP series pistols. HK the very first fire arm company to build a striker fired polymer pistol. The VP70 and the 70 stands for 1970 Wich is the first year of the VP series all polymer. Sorry Glock HK beat you to the punch by 13 years or so. Love the video Mr Hickock and like always it's a joy to watch u in action. Unlike nuttenfancy you get to the point and don't read off teleprompter lol to get a point across.

I traded my P30 for the VP9 due to the better trigger, and just purchased the HK VP9SK both of my VP9’s have the new magazine with 2 more rounds so VP9 holds 17 and VP9SK holds 15 with the extension the regular mag holds 12. The trigger on the SK’s, and I have shot the P30SK, are much better than the compact version. Hard to believe that the VP9SK has a better trigger than the VP9, but it does. Just saying!
I have both; the HK VP9/VP9sk and G19/G26. HK is head and shoulders in quality but the Glock is king in the lighter department. Great pieces! 😎

Nice videos.I believe the H&K truly is a compact model. I also believe the weight difference between the Glock 19 and the H&K is the fact that the Glock has a polymer guide rod, whereas the H&K has a steel guide rod. I love H&K, but I also like Glocks, just hate the 2x4 grip on the Glocks. Why can they not redesign that grip to be more like an H&K, or even a Walther PPQ along with a comparable trigger? Can you imagine?

You probably should have compared it also to the FNS 9 compact. Seems to be same size and same quality. H&K vs FN.
I hated palatal release I first handle the VP9. After handling one for awhile now I don't even realize it. Great gun. Good gun for the money.
