    I've owned a 26 & currenyly own 3 other Glocks. I just purchased a VP9SK yesterday, put 200 rounds through & WOW. Unlike Glock, no upgrades needed to the sights, trigger, extended controls, etc. Yes, it's more expensive & a little bigger than a 26, but the added weight makes it a better shooter I think. I'm a total Glock fanboy but this VP9SK is AMAZING & Im going to try to everyday carry it.

      I have only ever owned the Glock 26 as the EDC Subcompact. I'm glad to see your opinion, as I'm looking to swap my G26 for something comparable but feels easier to use with sweaty hands, which I can't help. Example, the "ears" on the back slide of the VP9sk make it looks easier to rack the slide, the field-strip process also looks so much easier on the VP9SK, etc And the it's got a rail for accessories (lights, laser, etc)

    Personal preference for me would be the vp9 sk. But if I had mostly glocks, I'd choose the Glock this time too. Because of having mostly that platform with interchangeable magazines, your use to the grip and the trigger.
    But I'm not into Glocks, so I'd choose the HK vp9 sk for the reasons you listed.
    Great video, and this is my second viewing. 😎👍

    Vp9sk hands down destroys the baby glock in every way.
    1)Ergonomics
    2)Stock sights
    3Light Rail
    4) Shootability and Accuracy.
    Well not hands down, because the price of the Glock is much cheaper.Until you replace the horrible plastic sights.Yep, hands down.Great comparisons though, love the videos

    Finally picked one up over the weekend. After talking to husband and wife classmates at cfss, who both made the switch to the sk. I believe it is going to be my new best friend. Heading out to FJ in a minute to pick up a set of trijicon hd XR, black arch 3/4 hybrid holster is ordered (currently carrying in full vp9 holster). This may finally pull me away from carl, my PPQ. I was worried the shorter sight radius would give me fits like on my pps, not at all. Very comfortable to shoot, very comfy @ 4:00 carry, love the fact I can still carry 15rd spares. Cannot find a down side yet.

    When you held up the rear view of the two pistols, the shortness of the Glock 26 grip was unbelievable! It was so short and my hands are so big and meaty that I picked right then and there, despite the fact I'm not a big fan of the HK.
    I have fired the Glock 32 in 357 Sig, and I could barely hold the thing, it was a turbo teacup, I had no purchase. The grip was to short and fat.
    I did like the sights you put on the 26 however.

    HK hands down a better gun. It's a night and day difference. I would never buy a glock, they are just cheap in every way. I have an HK P2000sk and love it. I would love to get more HK guns, the P30sk and P30L in particular but both are not legal here in California. There are a very limited choices choices to choose from over here.

  • @Cantdrive60
    @Cantdrive60 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    I own a few 9mm handguns. The two I like the best for different reasons are my Sig Sauer P229 combat, and the H&K VP9SK. They definitely feel different. Not that one is better than the other, but a different mechanical feel. I carry the VP9SK as an EDC. I cannot say much about the Glock. With their popularity, you cannot deny that people like them. Whether it's for price or functionality there's a reason people stand behind them vehemently. My father is in Law Enforcement and swore by Glocks. A couple years back at hunting camp he shot my Sig Sauer. He' went out and bought a Sig and sold all his glocks. When looking for a firearm to purchase, it's very easy to get lost in all the specs/information. One thing to consider is how a gun feels to you personally (in your hand), and how it shoots. I hear a lot of comments about "size and weight" for EDC. I bought the VP9SK because my Sig was a little heavy/bulky to carry when I hike. I am someone who likes a lot of "functionality" when I buy products. I found the H&K had the right combination of that for me. I liked the rail system, ambidextrous slide lock, and magazine releases, night sites, and magazine extenders. I also like how easy it is to take apart the VP9SK with not having to use the trigger to field strip the gun for cleaning. If you're looking for someone to spell out those functions who owns a VP9SK, I hope my comment was helpful.

    My dilemma: VP9SK LE for $650 or Blue Label Gen 4 Glock 26 w/ NS for $455. A $195 difference. I'd like the HK, but it's hard to justify the price gap. There's no doubt that the HK is the overall better gun, but is it $195 better? Damn it.

    When it comes down to guns this small for myself, Size and capacity are the only factors (besides reliability) that matter to me. So the G26 would be my pick. If it were G19 vs VP9 I would pick the HK P30 over both. LOL Thanks for the vid keep it up!

    You can keep any Glock. Every H&K product I've had has been hands down a far better firearm. My VP9 is my favorite full size and the P30SK is my daily carry. Traded an Sig 365 compact and the dealer told me I wouldn't like the P30SK.....he was dead wrong. Enjoy what you have and what you like! (btw, I crushed the frame of a Glock 17 against a tree in a bound overwatch in a low gravity holster. Side rail bent in. The replacement had a round enter the chamber in front of the extractor rod and mis fired. Glock said "it can happen"...No, it wont happen because I'll never buy another of your products again.....

    Had the G26. Have the VP9sk. IMHO, it's not even close. The only areas where the Glock may have an advantage are concealability and magazine availability. I love the VP9. I shot the Glock A TON. It was not terrible, it was not fun, not nearly as easy to shoot accurately and we cannot forget the "Glock knuckle".

  • @cbwelch4
    @cbwelch4 29 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Agreed. I have the standard VP9 and a G19. Pretty much the same feedback you gave. I do have the occasional extraordinary day with thr G19, but in general the VP9 shoots better. Lighter trigger for sure on the VP9 that breaks cleaner and smoother and further forward with less takeup. Gripping a glock is like shaking hands with a block.

    I definitely agree with your review. I own an HK VP9-SK and a Glock 30 gen 4. I have found the trigger on the HK more comfortable and the stock sights much better than the Glock. I too changed the Glock sights.

  • @hANNAbONE

    If you simply hold the Glock, it feels literally like a block of wood inside your grip. It doesn't fit the hand. And to pay that much money for a non-night sights, non-changable ergos (back strap, side straps) seems a bit daft. I shake my head when I talk with a Glock Fanboy. I'm a CZ guy, but this HK VP9sk LE has me focused in its view. The other terrific thing is that the HK pricing for the LE version (3rd mag and NSights) is only $570. Bargain.!

    I vote for the Glock. No I don't like Glock guns actually but in this comparison. If you looking into a sub compact gun you want a small gun. I don't hang a riding mover on a compact gun at all. With the VP SK (German for Schmal Kompackt) I am looking on a big ole gun that is not SubCompakt at all.
    In a case that conceal-ability is a minor concern, I could carry a M&P 9 and have 16+1 rounds. Yes I carried almost concealed a M&P 9, but In comparison case I'm looking into a subcompact that I can conceal carry on a belt, I am definitively not looking for a small brick for a belt. I want a small gun for CC in a IWB Holster that is light and small as possible. Serious. I carry a gun since 30 years religiously and know size and weight matters.
    My winner is in this case the Glock. I can't believe I say that but well, I would.

    I prefer pocket carry with an Alabama pocket holster. G26 wins for me, that small size difference makes a huge difference. And the G26 is much lighter. I love the VP9SK, but it's a bit too big and heavy to be a pocket gun. Pocket carry is more concealable, being in a Dem state, this is a huge consideration, lots of Karens in NJ. If I lived in a Republican state, I would pick the VP9SK and OWB carry it.

    I totally agree with your choice. I own mostly HK because of how they feel and shoot. They feel great in my hands and shoot well. If you love me Glocks, awesome. That is what is so great about having choices. I prefer HK’s. I bought a Glock and gave it to my wife. Same thing with my M&P V-Tac, it just doesn’t feel as well made as my HK’s. Still a great gun but I prefer the HK. I tried a couple of CZ’s and the texturing was way too aggressive for me (I still want to fire a Shadow 2). Get what you like and enjoy. Happy Shooting.

    As a 31 yr veteran police officer I would offer my opinion as a professional who has carried many different types of semi autos. First of all, PRICE should never be a factor…how valuable is your life? ONLY quality should be factored-PERIOD!!
    The Glock is a workhorse designed to be a very basic and non-customized fit for any user.
    The HK is superior in every way; build quality, ergot, trigger pull and retention of value down the road. It’s a once in a lifetime gun which will last forever and that will stand up to a comparison and virtually surpass the challenge of any other pistol…can’t say that about too many other guns out there. In my opinion, the only other gun that even comes close is the Sig P320 X Compact, but I would still go with the VP9SK. Forget about the Walter PPQSK…the HKVP9SK is THE BEST!! One can also use a full sized magazine with a spacer and now you have a full sized grip and 15 +1. Insert the flush magazine and now you have a true CCW sized gun.
    Forget what anyone else says….this HKVP9SK is the ONLY 9mm to consider…dropping the mic now.

    I'm with you big time on your "winner". I picked up a VP9SK a week ago (stock -- for $518!) and had it to the range yesterday. I could not believe how well it fit my hand and my eye! I usually have trouble (have to really concentrate) on a "ragged hole" drill but I was able to do it at speed; after 5-6 shots, the others were just going thru the hole! I REALLY like the trigger. Reset was short, tactile and audible.
    Now, having said all that, I would add that the fit to MY hand was superb (wear size large gloves, long fingers) which likely helped with good shooting. I shoot my Glock 19 well, too but it (Gen 3) just doesn't fit my hand terribly comfortably. I came home from 200+ rounds in the SK and told my wife (only half in jest), "I'm ready to sell all of my other pistols!". The final part that surprised me was the flat base plate magazine. I usually avoid those (tend to abrade my pinky) but I figured it was what I had to use ....and didn't notice at all whether or not my pinky was on or off the grip! I'm THRILLED with this addition to it's big brother.

    I think the glock 26, as a concealed carry weapon, wins for practicality. However the HK has a certain quality appeal that is hard to quantify. If size is paramount the glock wins, but if you can take the extra dimensions on the HK its a real sexy option!
    Depending on dress, the size difference may not matter. In the summer the small difference may become a thing though. For most of us, the g26 is already a big gun for concealed carry, when compared to the the g43, s&w shields, etc.

    • @KSGunGuy01
      @KSGunGuy01  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Excellent point about the practicality of a 26. It's uniquely small for a double stack which adds to the appeal. As for the HK, the build quality is top notch and I agree about taking the extra dimensions. Thank you and cheers!
