David Phelp's is singing a story and singing his praises to God! I could listen to him all day! He clearly loves God and wants his audience to know why he loves God!

He’s the best tenor singer, he has gone solo now and has recorded new songs, they are awesome. In my opinion, no one out there can compare with David. Love him!

It’s not raises to the great I am, but Praises to the great I am. If u listened to more of his songs you’d know he’s got amazing control in his vocals. His core strength in his diaphragm allows him to give him not only rich full sound, but is never flat when he reaches those high notes.

It seems like a lot of people are getting offended by what he is saying. I think it’s important to remember that he was asked to technically evaluate and explain this performance. He wasn’t asked to talk about what role the Holy Spirit has in it. He was asked for mechanics. As a singer and a follower of Christ I find this video very interesting. He is explaining some things that can help singers clarify their words and tell the story of Christ more beautifully. I think even technically examining his singing, he has realized that the singer isn’t singing to the audience. Those of us who follow Jesus now he is singing to God and that’s kind of neat that he picked up on that without understanding. So pls give the guy a break as he was just doing what he was *asked to do and there’s nothing wrong with examining the technique of a fantastic singer to learn more about how his voice and mouth work when he is clearly being used by the Holy Spirit. :-) All glory to God!

David Phelps is incredible. Breath control is out of this world and he really feels what he's singing about. Love listening to his singing. Thanks for the analysis. It’s not quite that simple to create that sound he has simply by the jaw and mouth movements. It’s far more than that. You can’t really use this guy as an example anyhow . His tone, range and where his voice sits is not the norm. You can count these people on one hand. There are lots of good singers out there and then there’s the cream where pure luck of genetics take over. His range is phenomenal. David Phelps has it all and that’s rare. I trained for 14 years with a guy who was a principal tenor at the English National Opera house and I never got anywhere near David Phelps. A flat tongue is standard in trained singers.

The audience is comprised of the most famous voices in gospel music, brought together by Bill and Gloria Gaither of Gaither Vocal Band fame... You missed a couple words..... It's praises... not raises, and at the end its "the risen lamb"... not lad.... But otherwise, spot on...! Oh... and I would be very interested on your reaction to his more operatic performances.... Nessun Dorma or O Mio Babbino Caro..... or his duet with his daughter, Maggie Beth on Agnus Dei...

I really appreciate how you break it all down and demystify it so you feel like it as possible that you can achieve these stunning notes. I particularly loved the part where you say visualize who you might be singing to and the environment. I feel like that is so helpful and it makes total sense. Reaction videos by coaches are not your thing then. So just watch the original videos and everybody happy. He is one of the best reaction coaches on youtube. He goes very deep and I can see why you would not like to hear it. It is not for you it's for the person who is truly interested in how these artists get their sound out of their bodies. You should see how irritating we were before Christ came into our life!! Pray that as this has obviously touched his soul, (mind, will and emotions--you could see the gulps in his throat) HE WOULD KNOW CHRIST PERSONALLY. Reveal yourself Jesus to this beautiful creation of yours...Dr. Marc! I want Dr. Marc to talk to when I get to heaven! Daddy loves him and all his "irritating" traits....and mine too! LOL

Christian music has more dynamics in it than most genres which challenges the vocalist and the musicians.

Hanging up now! Can't listen this critique any more. Last time here! Went to another David Phelps concert last night!
Amazing! Would rather listen to him sing than this critique!
