For those that don't know some coaches do teach the "fly by" if it's a really good shooter. That's where you just don't break down at all and go 100 miles per hour to get a good contest. You will get pump faked out of your shoes, but you live with that.

it works the vastus medialis which is connected to pettala tendon therefore making your muscle stronger therefore reducing impact on muscles and tendons therefore reduces pattella tendon pain.

Paul, comment on comparing running suicides vs closing out... the reason you don't chop it up with suicides is because you know the next step regardless (generally turning toward your strong side if you are a kid racing back)... right? On the other hand, if you are closing out the offensive player has options and chopping it up reduces the likelihood of them blowing by you. I feel like chopping it up is just a way to teach the basics of closing out while maintaining balance that allows the defender to best react to the options the offensive player has. I think there is a reliance on 10 steps but the reality is in games you won't have those options because an offensive player is not going to wait for you... that being said you are more likely to be able to react with better with your feet under you from chopping, right? Would love to hear your feedback.
