Because I read on wiki that jin turned to devil & then won ; so I was wondering if devil jin should be called the champion or Jin himself.

The devil gene was interfering jins battle with hworang Jin tried his best to keep the devil gene from taking control of him as Jin was fighting against it with his kazama blood Jin was defense less his guard was down and hworang attacked him knocking Jin out but the devil gene takes over quickly then devil Jin awakens then defeats hworang quickly then advances the tournament and defeats jinpachi. This also explains Tekken 5's devil within mode as jins guard was down because he was trying to hold on against the devil gene but since his guard was down he got knocked out by squadrons of jacks then later recovers then defeats all of them
I feel like naming Jin's new b, f+2,1,2 string "Evil Intent" was an in-joke from Namco in regards to its Tekken 4 infamy.

I think tekken 4 jin has been his best rendition. His face truly looked like juns, and the bangs were more like hers. He was also clearly buff but not to the ridiculous degree in later games, it looked natural.
Less polygons, but yeah, T4s Jin was perfecto(and handsome.)

3:55 the mental alertness added a jump kick to b1 3 I believe. I have it engrained into my memory. I think they added a few more things too
There was a mode in this game, where you'll be matched against AI and beating them will increase the rank of your played character. The thing is, you can defeat everybody in that mode with just two moves using Jin. That long kick and that one two punch by pressing the punches button simultaneously
Man, my brother used to laugh at me that I couldn't beat Jinpachi. I was a Jin main and like 7.

I don't expect the protag to be the best character but to make him suck makes no sense to me. Capcom is doing that to Ryu in SFV.

Capcom is doing it to Ryu to push people away from him and make them switch to other characters since Ryu is the most popular character with beginners.
Namco did to Jin to make sure the large number of people that played Jin in Tekken 4 switch him in Tekken 5
It would’ve made sense if T4 Jin was swapped with T5 as his progression would’ve fit.
@@josephsua7246 starting with TTT2 Jin regained his strength again, and now in T7 is a top character, in a decent way unlike the cheap OP Jin of T4.

my head canon for this has been that since jin is fighting against being overtaken by the devil gene the whole time in tekken 5, i guess it can explain how weak he is, but then he starts to gain control by the time he reaches Jinpachi.
Even though he was the weakest in the game i still remember taking him all the tym in tekken 5 ..

Lows in Virtua Figter 5 FS are normally -3 on hit. There are very few lows that grant plus frames on hit in that game.

Both of them were really linear... I loved playing against them because I used to spam instant side step. They'd freeze up and I'd be doing most of the offense
Testostxrone V2 not really zafinas 1+2 attack was so quick and had so much hitstun that it was almost inescapable unless you were law and did a somersault out of the attack and bob players are just horrendous when ever they can’t land a hit they unpredictably grab you *EVERY TIME*.

The Mishimas were all top tier in Tekken 5 DR. It was a much more technical and much less broken game. Tekken 5 vanilla actually wasnt competitive all that long. Tekken 5 DR is the definitive competitive game for Tekken 5. But the Mishima's are insanely powerful in the game. I don't remember Jin being that much better. He was barely used

I wanna know what was the reason replacing the lazer scraper with this version of the move. It cant be cause devil jin came back amd took the old move set cause jin still uses alot of the classic moves, just different inputs like the foward 3 spinkick for example. Now it's just up 3. I dont get it. They didn't need to change it

Tekken 5 is my favourite Tekken series till date. I must agree Jin Kazama in Tekken 5 is terrible after being a great fighter in Tekken 4. Glad his better in Tekken 6 onwards.
I mained t5 Jin and he always had issues, especially with juggles. The only way to get a decent advantage was to stagger with parries. His 10 hit combo also had too many gaps for miss/block.

i've been playing a lot on my PSP with Jin in DR, taking him to Divine Fist and i just realized how bad he was in this game, super limited compared to 6 onwards.
Tekken 3 Jin will always be the best.
Tekken Tag's Jin is actually more better with new moves that Devil Jin now with-holds.
I think Jin actually wasn't so bad in tekken 5. I agree with that one combo move (downback + 2, 2, 3) but Jin had so many secret moves that wasn't listen in his move list!
for example:
You could use mental alertness by pressing (down + 1 + 2) after certain moves. [gives you counter and +2 damage]
Mental alertness (2) had bonus moves that also wasn't listed.
you could use (forward, forward+3) with the Mental alertness (2).
back+1, forward+3
and
back+1, forward+4
:)
The mental alertness move is risky because you can’t block afterwards. It’s more of a stylish move more than anything. And all the other “great” secret moves doesn’t help because all those are slow mids. Not lows

Jin in Tekken 5 is still a monster because of his parry and his ws2. My friend ducks my high almost everytime and ws2. His main launchers are hopkick his electric 1 and ws2 but he parries to a cancan too. He mostly utilize his EWGF when my back is behind the wall.

If we're actually talking about straight up character strength here, tekken 3 jin should probably be 2nd or 3rd.
Is this just personal preference, or character strength? If it's the latter, Tag 1 Jin should be #2 on this list easily, and T3 Jin #3.
Tekken 3 and Tekken Tag Tournament Jin, are synonymous with the Devil Jin starting with Tekken 5. Mishima style Fictional Style Karate, is not the same as the more realistic Karate of Tekken 4 Jin beyond. They have been split into two different characters, because people missed the old Mishima style Karate Jin from 3 and Tag, so they added Devil Jin in 5 to bring him back.
Did they fixed those problems in Tekken5 DR?
Jin was slightly better in DR but still pretty weak there.

Kinda surprised that you didn’t mentioned Jin’s CD1 in T5.
T4 Jin’s CD1 was a side-step knockdown punch, but in T5, it has become a launching uppercut, similar to the Mishima’s EWGF, except it was weaker ofc. In T6, TT2 and T7, Jin’s CD1 also had an electric version but it still isn’t fully safe.

But i liked playing jin in T5. I owned people at arcades back in the day with him. Albeit i think my opponents were just casuals or trash, but i still beat them with jin.
Yeah I played armor king in dr and he was also limited a bit but I still beat fengs, Ninas Bryan’s and all the other more op characters

I feel really bad because in this game I was Tekken Lord with Jin, when I played Tekken 7 With real people online I was enraged cause I couldn't pass 1 Dan thought that I was not that bad, I thought that they must have nerfed him or something, against my friends I was an "Assassin" but after Tekken 7 I realized how much I suck at the game, and my friends, poor guys.....I wish that the AI in this was much better to avoid my painful rude awake.....

Nah, he didnt become trash, its just that every char in tekken 5 is good and usable
Tekken 7 Jin is how he should stay, he's difficult to pick up and honestly he's difficult to master as well but he's incredibly good, not broken or overpowered or anything, he's just a great character, in Tekken 5 Jin was a crippled imposter of what he was in Tekken 4 and what he is in the games to follow, he's so damn slow in this game, he wasn't necessarily fast in Tekken 4 but he had broken moves to make up for it, here he was slowed down and nerfed beyond belief, sometimes when I play the older Tekken's, Tekken 3, Tekken 4, when I play those versions of Jin and I go back to Tekken 7 he feels stiff, but when I look at him in Tekken 5 he's pretty much suffering from arthritis or something, everything's slow, everything's weak and well, just watch the video, it's explained pretty damn well.
I think Jin should have a means of parrying closer to how he did in Tekken 3, but the rest is fine I think, since they gave the rest to Devil Jin so that Jin isn't a copy of every other Mishima, the rest of his moves are fine though I just miss being able to time a parry and be rewarded with some damage, unless it was countered which should never be a thing, you already risked so much to get that parry, so when it gets countered it's just really annoying, his parry nowadays is kinda useless to be honest, I know that a TAS can use his parry endlessly after one successful parry but that's not humanly possible making his current parry almost useless, his gimmick should be his zenshin and mental awareness, the parry doesn't need to be there anymore, if it does it should be how it was in Tekken 3, I know Paul still has that parry so if Jin had it I really don't think it would be that game breaking.
Also does anyone know which Tekken game Lee was actually pretty good in? As in when was Lee in his prime? I know he's actually decent in Tekken 5, but I just want to know because Lee never seems to be on the radar for some reason.
Agree that Jin feels weaker in past versions prior T7 disagree that he doesn't need parry or that is gimmick, if you understand Jin at high level, Jin parry is a situational tool, for a very specific situation, when you start to see patterns on your opponent attacks you don't even need to dodge it when you can parry, simply as that.
