8 Ways to Overcome Anger

    When you let anger bubble away, it can cause an eruption. This can cloud your judgment, damage your relationships, and destroy the trust you have with others. So, how can you keep it in check?
    Here are eight ways to restrain the rage…
    1. Recognize the warning signs. When you’re angry, your heart rate rises and you breathe faster. Be vigilant, so you can deal with these symptoms before they build up.
    2. Have a “time-out.” Avoid “leaping in” with an angry response. Instead, calm yourself down by counting to 10 before you act.
    3. Catch your breath. Try to slow your breathing. This will help you to stay calm and to think clearly.
    4. Exercise regularly. Doing this releases calming chemicals, like dopamine and serotonin, into your body. This will improve your state of mind and make you less prone to anger.
    5. Find some quiet time. Practicing relaxation techniques like mindfulness or centering can help you to cope with stress over the longer term.
    6. Avoid alcohol. Overindulgence can lower your inhibitions and make you more prone to outbursts.
    7. Express your emotions. When we keep things inside for too long, frustrations can build up. So, talk about your feelings with friends and loved ones.
    8. Let it go. Sometimes we have no choice but to let an issue go, even if we think it’s unfair. But, doing this will allow you to move past grudges or bitterness, and toward peace.

    I'm. Not a bad person but I often get angry, people trigger me they knows and attack my weakness it end me up like a worst person on earth, but I want to say to my family that I'm not a bad person. I try my best to overcome my anger issues. May God help me ❤

    I actually needed this. When people I actually care about makes me mad or irritated I go crazy. & after a while I realized what I've done and it's not what I really wanna be known for.

    Counting to 10 just increases my anger ten fold , like when people ask me to do that they're literally setting up a time bomb.

    I go mad at small things and then I shout at my family members especially papa but after sometime I really feel guilty ☹️

    Finally I'm not alone after reading some comments here... i have been isolating myself and distancing myself from everyone... i know my family care about me, i do too... but sometimes i got angry really easily and make people around me feeling hurt just bcs of my harsh words and violence act.. whenever anger got the best of me, i really doesn't knows myself and hate myself after doing those harsh actions towards my family... i felt really guilty after making my family mess and crying.... i just really wanted to remove my anger if i can... i hate myself for hurting my family especially my mom... recently i got fight with her again.... i feels really guilty rn...

    Once my husband asked me to stop getting angry over nothing. But after watching a lot of videos I found out that he WON'T allow me to calm down. When I find myself getting angry I always make sure to tell him: ok. I'm starting to lose my temper. Let's take 10 minutes so I'll calm down then we'll come back to the topic.
    Its always: no you're not running from this.
    Then I get more angry and start screaming and he tells me to stop being angry 😅😅😅 I really dunno how to deal with this.

    The end makes me mad. I can't talk to anyone because I have no friends and my family doesn't care about me, and I can't let it go, there are so many things that are stuck to me.

    I always feel I'm the weekest one in the family, least loved person, most immature one ... Its all because of my behaviour, my anger and shouting at elders...
    I will make my family proud... I'll cope up the situation now and comeback with all power later !!!

    Im used to bottling up all my emotions so...no matter what i feel like going crazy and tear my haif out but I just smile it out and that drives me crazy ciz i cant even take it out anyhwere

      Hi both of you. I feel the same too. People call me hyper emotional. I really feel concerned about others and I always give people a space in my mind more than they deserve. But in return, I receive negative treatment. Dear ones, I feel not all people deserve sweetness. Some jobs will say that you are being rude, but keep your attitude. Only countable few people deserve attention, appreciation and love.

    When I’m angry, I get really violent with words and it’s like I can’t control my vocabulary. I seriously want to be calm for my own good so people feel comfortable around me in any situation. I once tried to be calm for a whole day but during the evening, my mom brought up a negative argument and I just couldn’t help myself and I started being disrespectful, and toxic, that’s the opposite of who I want to be. I’m starting to do yoga and listen to some lo-fi beats to relax my mind and keep my mind off everything, as if I’m dreaming, and slowly leaving reality.

    I have anger issues since childhood , but now as I'm growing older I'm hating my behaviour , most of the time I regret on talking with harsh tone and feel bad because of my behaviour , abd now my anger level is this much high that I get irrirated from small things , I get triggered easily !! and I can feel the heat in my head after getting angry ! may God help me(us) from getting through it 🤧❤

    _Anxiety isn't anger. Some idiots think anxiety is anger issues, it's not. Anger means sadness. It leads to the feeling of being alone. I may look all tough and happy but I swear I am sad. To the point where I bottle stuff up cause nobody listens to me. Or us? We aren't alone though._

    Over time now my body aches so bad as it gets wound up from the stress, anger, and eventually guilt... This cycle of feeling has fueled my bad habits. Now I'm working against so much with myself, on my own. And it's the most challenging thing I've experienced yet in life.

    I've always had anger issues and a while back I realized it only makes me worse, over time I found so many things about me that dragged me down and made me a worse person but there still with me. So I started trying to better myself and for now, I'm focusing on one thing the thing I chose was my anger. By the end, I hope I can stop overreacting to things and hurting people because of my anger management problems.

    I just shouted at my own father earlier I feel so guilty saying a lot of things knowing that it might affect him a lot. I can't understand myself why am I doing this everytime. It's just a very small argument but I know that I ended up making him feel guilty for everything I said. I'm not an expressive person so I really try my best to hide everything I feel and pretend anxious every time they see me . This feeling is killing me it's worst that a break up.

    The main thing is that family needs to understand.. whenever I, m in depression or anxiety t. my mother fight with me even more she make me frustrated so much that I do misbehave with her last year this problem was severe and my family finally decide to show a doctor it' was nice experience he said she is in depression you all need to be very patient with her don't fight with her but my mother don't understand last year she understood but now again when I, m having a bad day she becomes even worse don't understands me Ask my dad to fight with me she is a witch. I am tired yr everytime I forgive everyone but I also can't leave home for 2 second cause I, m a girl... I Jus Want To Get away from all shits

    my grandma bit...*inhales slowly* my grandma pisses me off every day about small things , and i didn't say anything to anyone because i aint got nobody to talk to. i tried talking to my dad but can't do that because my mom took it because my dad and grand ma had a fall because my grandma gets on my dad's nerves to so my mom said i can't call him unless it monitored like ima frickin inmate.     Something I’ve used that helps me get rid of my anger issues is to let it out, I’ll usually stay in my room for however long I need to calm down, I’ll let my tears out as I cry, I’ll let my strength out as I punch a mattress, and I’ll relax everything left by listening to peaceful music, if you try this it could be great for controlling your anger! I hope I helped
