    After my short notice Muay Thai fight in Thailand a couple weeks ago I had another fight lined up at Chaweng Boxing Stadium in Koh Samui.
    I was matched up with a young, talented stadium fighter who was ready for a battle.
    In round 1 of this fight breakdown I go over a variety of Muay Thai techniques and tactics including:
    FIGHT BREAKDOWN:
    - How Establishing The Teep Early On Is CRUCIAL
    - Right Roundhouse vs. Southpaw
    - My Favorite Catch & Sweep Technique From Southpaw
    - And Much More!
    Enjoy the fight analysis and let me know what you think :)

    That sweep was sweet, blocking his kick with your head in round 4 was definitely where it all went wrong

      Yea in hindsight I shouldn't block with my head

    I plan on using muay thai in my future graphic novels. I got really into I after I realized that my body responds naturally to the moments. I have been practicing for 3 months. I'm definitely an elbow and knee fighter. I have a whole playlist on it.

    Well done mate, I know what it felt like to have a sore shin even 2 weeks after a fight, that really made one hesitant when throwing kicks. Ur opponent seems boxed quite well, is that rare for a general Thai boxer?

    • @np494609
      @np494609 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not any more the Thais are learning from their western counterparts & the Dutch kickboxers thus have been training more hands than they did say 10-15 years ago, muay mats are Thai boxers who's specialty is heavy aggressive punching, low kicks & devastating knock outs. Muay khaos are taller Thai boxers who use clinch, knees & elbows and may be who you're thinking of, just my two cents

    • @seanfagan
      @seanfagan  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There is a general misconception that Thais can’t box, which is far from the truth. The fact is that kicks score much higher than punches and Thais are generally better at kicking, so they tend to do that more. This doesn’t mean they don’t have good boxing though.

    i thought it was weird you werent kicking a lot i forgot your last fight was so recent, i was thinking maybe if he has such light lead leg you should kick his rear leg, i know it is a bit different because he is teeping but its something to keep in mind

    • @seanfagan
      @seanfagan  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Something I'll consider

  • @robroberts1473
    @robroberts1473 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Would training Western style boxing help you with the punching part.

    • @seanfagan
      @seanfagan  4 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @robroberts1473
      @robroberts1473 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I just asked because I don't know crap about kick boxing. But it looks pretty brutal with the kicks.

    • @seanfagan
      @seanfagan  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Indeed it is. Western boxing is definitely good to know but there’s a lot you can’t do in Muay Thai. I started with boxing before Muay Thai and it was quite an adjustment going from one sport to the other

    How long will it take for me an orthodox fighter to switch to southpaw or at least be somewhat comfortable

    • @seanfagan
      @seanfagan  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      As long as it takes. Just gotta practice consistently. There is no set timeline for something like that

    Hmmm that low teep is kinda nasty. I don't do it myself but then again I haven't practiced enough to think about it xD. Isn't it a bit risky tho? As in it seems really easy to kick a dude in the dick with that xD.
