You should take this video down. It's very biased. You can't disparage the taunting of Saenchai's opponents while ignoring the fact that Saenchai is famous for doing the same thing. In fact, his opponents are only taunting in retaliation for Saenchai's taunts. So his taunts aren't as playful as you may believe.
I don't think Saenchai have ever thought that any opponents who did "stunts" or "taunts" to him was disrespecful. He was still playful, even with his serious face.
I know! He is such an inspiration on a personal level too! I love watching these because i can apply the same principles on my own life too, just in a different way. 🎉
I'm a 40 year old ex-Muay Thai practitioner, and I'm certain I've brought that up in this comment section before, but let me say that I love Lawrence's channel and his fight breakdowns. There's a *_lot_* of guys on TH-cam who do this - not a lot of them know what they're talking about even though they might claim, but this dude Lawrence provides some of the best I've come across, and I'm hella far from an expert. I took classes for 2 and a half years, so don't listen to me and my bullshit, I've just been in some fights. This dude gives you an education.
@@bluecat6902 I stopped at 19 because of clinical depression and suicidal thoughts. I kept up with my training here and there throughout the years and am only now seriously rededicating myself to it.
100 % . Love this channel. Lawrence has done a lot of hard work to break it down and teach exactly. Good humble teachers are needed badly in this world . Always love to see another. Can I get my free t-shirt now ? 😂😂😂joking . All true 👍
Saenchai is extraordinary, I'd love to see him and give my respect. And thanks to you Lawrence I discovered so many things about Muay Thai but also boxing and martial arts. So many fighters like Samart, Yodwicha, Dieselnoi, the list goes on and on. Respect to these fighters and to you for making them shine through time. I hope we will have the opportunity to see Saenchai again delivering mastery moments, perhaps while sparring with you man ! That'd be awesome ! Cheers !!
None of them being respectful. They’re simply entertaining the crowd. Saenchai did the same thing most of the times. The opponents just trying to match his energy
I usually hate this kind of video that includes talking because they just make a way to make the video longer. But bro you did an amazing job narrating the video with your analysis. 😊
I think a lot of fighters lose against him is because of his reputation. It's a mind thing. He has that much confidence that instills fear in the opponent and they tighten up.
Have you seen any of the Saenchai sparring sessions, where they tour the USA ? The sessions are great viewing, with an occasional cocky fighter. Yes enjoyed this Lawrence.
Thinking about how tough Muay Thai fighter's shins are, I can only imagine the impact it took to hurt Saenchai's. I wouldn't want to be the guy whose head was on the receiving end of that.
Hi Lawrence, what do you think of the recent Buakaw vs. Saenchai fight? It's bare knuckle muay thai with a few other rule changes, so I don't know if that really served as a disadvantage for Saenchai.
Usually, baiting a counter fighter to abandon patience and become more aggressive ends badly for the counter fighter. For Saenchai, it ends badly for his opponents.
The problem with respect in fighting is it’s just as dangerous as being too cocky. Someone who has too much respect will often hold punches or not take advantage of situations needed to win. Sometimes too much respect turns into fear.
He's always clowning around, It's in his nature but when another fighter that does not do this naturally tries to do it, it's definitely considered an insult. It's like a hyena trying to mock a lion, the lion is the king, the lion will destroy. It's called Muay Thai and sanchai is the king of muay thai
Saenchai is like a teacher who comes up to introduce his students on stage. His banter on stage is because he can introduce his disciples on stage. If you do, you're saying you're equally talented enough to have time to joke around on stage. And Saenchai will prove whether you're good enough to do it on the real stage or not. If you fought with Saenchai It is up to you to choose whether to acquire additional technical knowledge as a junior or student would. Or fight to the best of your ability as an opponent who believes himself to be as strong as Saenchai. Both of which are not wrong. From what I've seen, I believe Saenchai's opponents respect him. It's just how he chooses the roles he chooses on stage.
I’m sorry Lawrence, but to me Namsaknoi is the real GOAT. Defeated Saenchai twice and has a 93% win record (Saenchai’s is around 86% for comparison). That is literally unheard of. I vote Namsaknoi for GOAT.
If you’re looking at win rates.. somrak is higher at 297-13. Somrak was something else. The fight of namsaknoi vs saenchai iirc was catchweight. Namsaknoi was similar to Buakaw size and weight. Namsaknoi was definitely a great though. But no, there are many amazing fighters with win rates of that level but Somrak is possibly the highest. Thing with Saenchai is he often fought bigger thai’s. He even fought 2v1 in 2009 against 2 lumpini champions and won. (1 fighter for 3 rounds, the other for 2). But namsaknoi and saenchai are definitely not the goats. The real goats are from the golden age, where real, REAL monsters reigned.
@@Animefightforum Namsaknoi basically ended his career early, because he walked out from the Por Pramuk gym who didn't give him the money he had earned. But him and Saenchai definitely trained in the golden era, although when they went to the big stadiums, the golden era was pretty much over. But lot of the fighters were still there.
Which cocky fighter being humbled was your favorite?
