You _"can't tell when it's Colin and when it's not Colin"_ in the church scene because it's _all_ Colin. He learned and performed the entire routine himself.
This is such a fun movie for reactions. Many reactors don’t know about it, or they assume it’ll be a fun, little spy film. If they haven’t already started rethinking before then, the church scene always disabuses them of any further ‘James Bond movie’ notions.
clearly .. CLEARLY one of the best action movies ever made. Such an awesome cast but the way it was cut gave everything! just pure perfection! Never gonna forget the first time I've watched that. Me and my Dad thought it was just a nice little spy movie but as soon as Colin Firth threw that mug against that guys' head we were absolutely flabbergasted. Absolute madness this movie! The sequel is fire as well almost heaven..
The Hallmark of these movies is that it actually isn't a one shot. All the action scenes use a load of fun camera trickery and hidden cuts to make the hits feel harder and the shots look longer. CinemaWins video on this movie does a great job of breaking down the way it's done
34:34 Gazelle's actress is, in fact, a professionnal dancer. And an excellent one! Cant guarantee she did all of her stunts but that wouldn't surprise me.
33:35 is easily the BEST reaction to a film moment that I have ever seen on TH-cam. Your face 🤣 It's like you were momentarily existing in slow motion! It was absolutely golden. I love this movie so much. Thanks for sharing with us!
Ok a bit of trivia. So you know the part where Eggsy asks Merlin for the code to the Princess’s cell? The code he gives him 2625 is an Easter egg. It spells a certain word for a certain ‘act’ that’s about to happen. We could probably use it for code for what Seb is into.
So many of the scenes in this movie became instant classics when this movie came out. I rewatch the bar scene, church scene, and head explosion scene so often
I love in the church fight scene, if you pay attention when Harry gets hit by the shockwave of the explosive you can see him slowly regain his focus as he sees what is happening around him and you can see how worried he is until the ringing in his ears subside allowing the ringing to take hold again.
One of my top 5 series of films, fell in love with characters pretty much immediately. Happy to see you reacting. Gald to see you went quickly to saying _yes daddy_ to Harry. Honestly pretty much same. Merlin too, especially next one
Kingman is seriously one of the best film series ! This actually came out around the same time as John Wick 1! This movie is probably in my top 30 movies! (I watch alot of movies... lol)
Fun thing about Sam Jackson, that lisp he was using was his natural speech. He's always had a strong lisp but years of speech therapy helped him get rid of it but clearly he can bring it back out when needed.
@@thejamppa I must admit I didn't care much for the sequel. Don't get me wrong, it was an okay movie, I just don't have any desire to watch it again. To contrast that I've seen the first one at least 5 times, and will definitely watch it again. As for the prequel... I thought it was a good movie, it just wasn't a Kingsman movie. As a standalone movie it delivered all that it needed to, but as a prequel to the Kingsman series it felt woefully underwhelming.
Been waiting for this since it was announced, so glad you gave it a shot. Update after watching: It's definitely worth watching the sequel. It's not as good as the first, maybe about 5% less, but it's still a solid movie. If anything it just kinda does the same stuff again, but it's still GOOD stuff. Definitely give it a shot. But don't bother with the third movie, the prequel 'The King's Man'. That... that one was just kinda weird. Not awful either but just weird.
Fortunately the third film is a prequel, and we are still getting a third film (with eggsy, Galahad, possibly Merlin, and changing Tatum). And I’m so damn excited for it.
cant really go into detail cause of spoilers i guess but i dont see how the prequel is weird, the common hate for sequels and anything after makes no sense. and also something that i always say, never tell someone to not watch something just because you didnt like it, its better that they make their own opinions, after all you only lose 2h of your time
This movie is dope and one of my go to’s for just feeling better. The scenes are sick too. It’s also mentioned somewhere in the movie that Eggsy used to do gymnastics, which is why the parkour was used, and why he was so good at it.
100% watch the next one ASAP. The Kingsman are my favorite and they are some of the best action movies ive ever seen. The second one is just as good or even better with just as great cameos!
One thing I have always absolutely LOVED abt the kingsman movies, they never tried to shove Eggsy and Roxy together. They are friends and that's it, they never tried to force a romantic relationship between them and it just made me so incredibly happy 😊💖
Think the whole idea of Colin Firth being in an action movie like this gives it the shock value and being really good at it too. The Church scene was all one cut, all Colin and the people inside the Church, brilliant moment of cinematography.
This film feels like a combination between John Wick, Men in Black and Hot Fuzz lol. I'd love to see Seb react to more films like this, i.e.: - Spy - Hitman's Bodyguard - R.I.P.D. - Keeping Up With The Joneses - Now You See Me - Men in Black - Get Smart - Baby Driver, etc.
I have genuinely no idea how so many people dislike this film. It's amazing. Taron Egerton is extremely charismatic. Usually characters like the one he's playing are annoying, but he kills the role.
Taron is so, so hot in this film. The tailor's shop they use as headquarters is a real tailor's shop at 11 Savile Row in London. It's not actually called Kingsman but they kept the gold sign that says Kingsman, up from the movie on the right side of the stairs leading up to the door. I stopped by for a photo when I was in the area when I visited London earlier this year. It's actually just a few doors down from the building where The Beatles had their record label Apple Records in the 60s and where they played their last live performance together on the roof.
This is one of my favorite movies. Glad to see you covered it, great movie for reactions. Mark Hamill’s casting is great as the comic opens with the mountain chalet rescue but in the comic they are rescuing Mark Hamill instead of the professor character. The second movie is still really good too. The prequel feels very different. Not bad but a very different style, takes itself much more seriously.
14:15 thats Damien Walters. The most complete parkourist in the world. Ive probably watched his 2010 showreel so many times. He is absolutely insane. Also did stunts in the assassins creed movie.
One of my favourite movies and franchises. Over the top and not meant to be taken overly seriously. That's why it works so well. People taking it too seriously is missing the point
The guy in the beginning who got split is, belive it or not, Commodore Norringon from Pirates of the Caribbean 😂Fun fact Edit: I'd say the sequel and the prequel are both worth watching and reacting to.
Good thing to notice is when the explosion goes off during the fight in the church it blocks out all sound so for a few seconds harry realises what is happening before he can hear it again
I skydived in September for charity and it was such a great experience. Weirdly not cold, it was so quiet and tranquil as you are falling. Definitely a experience you should do lol
Oh wow what an amazing reaction thanks...so the actress who played Gisele is sophia boutella algerian actress/dancer she is the greatest female dancer she danced for madonna and mj chose her to be in his tour and music video before he died check her dance vids and she did all her stunts
You must watch the sequel and prequel. And they are planning a fourth film. So far the second film is my favorite for one good reason: Channing Tatum. 😆Oh and Elton John.
Hey Seb, I used to watch you and just recently came across another of your reactions 😊 I’m subscribed now but just wanted to tell you that your reactions are so fun and you always help cheer me up. Plus you are adorable. Love it! Thanks
The only part of this movie that never rubbed me the right way, was the dog part. The first lesson they learned was to take care of your own first, and that dog trained right along side them, I originally thought the winner would be the one that didn’t try and kill the dog.
@@bkbstone yeah, but it felt like a weird way to test them. I would think the test would be to see how easily they turn against their ally when in pursuit of a personal goal.
It rubbed you the wrong way because it was meant to, though. It was a test about obedience, carrying a task without questioning in the name of a cause. The audience understands that this is an outdated method and lo and behold Arthur turns out to be a major antagonist. Also, they had already proven their sense of loyalty and capability for betrayal in the test before that one.
Reminds me of a similar scene from 'Dog Soldiers' where Kevin McKidds character responds "I will not kill THAT dog for no reason." when asked to kill a random dog.
Love this movie,I'm From the UK born in Winchester me my family moved to Dubai 17 years ago I was little so my British accent is gone faded but sometimes comes back especially when I speak really fast.
Ok so “Eggsy” is a weird name to you too? As an American I just figured it was one of those weird colloquial things we don’t get. Fuckin who names their kid “Eggsy?” That gives Aussies a run for their money in the name game.

There is a version of the church scene with DOOM music on TH-cam.

thats why i live this movie
The church scene alone is worth watching to see- all the movies are fun watches. I really liked the prequel.
I love how Michael Caine changes his accent as Arthur is dying and cursing Eggsy.
I don't think a lot of people catch that Arthur probably came from a similar background to Eggsy.

No! Too soon for a certain John Denver song.

The "one shot" scene in the church is so incredible. 👏👏👏 beautiful!
