With their headquarters destroyed and the world held hostage, members of Kingsman find new allies when they discover a spy organization in the United States known as Statesman. In an adventure that tests their strength and wits, the elite secret agents from both sides of the pond band together to battle a ruthless enemy and save the day, something that's becoming a bit of a habit for Eggsy.
Kingsman: The Golden Circle is a 2017 spy action comedy film directed by Matthew Vaughn and written by Jane Goldman and Vaughn. Based on the Millarworld comic book series The Secret Service (later retitled Kingsman) by Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons, in-turn based on a concept by Millar and Vaughn, the film is the sequel to Kingsman: The Secret Service (2014) and the second installment in the Kingsman film series. The film features an ensemble cast consisting of Colin Firth, Taron Egerton, Mark Strong, Sophie Cookson, Edward Holcroft and Hanna Alström, who reprise their roles from the first film, with Julianne Moore, Halle Berry, Pedro Pascal, Elton John, Channing Tatum, and Jeff Bridges joining the cast. The film follows members of Kingsman needing to team up with their American counterpart, Statesman, after the Kingsman organization is crippled and the world is held hostage by Poppy Adams and her drug cartel, "The Golden Circle".
Kingsman: The Golden Circle premiered in London on 18 September 2017. It was theatrically released in the United Kingdom on 20 September 2017 and in the United States on 22 September 2017 by 20th Century Fox. It grossed $410 million worldwide against a budget of $104 million and received mixed reviews from critics.
A prequel, The King's Man, was released on 22 December 2021, while a crossover film, Argylle, was released on 1 February 2024, with a direct sequel, Kingsman: The Blue Blood, in development.

If the critics were wrong about Hook, they're wrong about this. This is a FANTASTIC sequel, and I LOVE IT!!!

I genuinely liked it, not as much as the first but it’s not bad
Tequila was to have a bigger role in the story, but due to Channing Tatum's scheduling conflicts working on Logan Lucky (2017), his role was reduced, and some of the scenes went to Whiskey (Pedro Pascal). The robot dogs, Bennie and Jet, are a reference to Sir Elton John's song . My favorite elton john song is tiny dancer.

I absolutely love that taron eggerton and elton john met on this movie and a few years later taron would play as elton john in rocketman, you should check that out sometime, great musical/biopic

Almost as if he was begging for that audition. Which to be frank, he did earn it….
It was them working together on this movie that convinced Elton to give him the role.

Love this movie! Not as much as the first one but that's just a perfect storm of all of it just working out. This one though, lot of heart, lots of fun.
And Elton John swearing in every bloody scene he's in; what's not to like.

The James Bond books I will say are much better than the movies. You just have to get past a little 1960's thinking when reading them, but it's not too hard.

Some other movies you should watch are Soul Surfer, Nowhere Safe, A Silent Voice, Dragonheart, Tremors, and Silent Hill. Most of these movies I suggested are underrated and would be really popular if people gave them a chance. I hope you check some of them out and enjoy them as well.

There is one tiny change I wanted them to make in this movie. After the fight in the bar scene I wanted a shot of the bartender just standing there not giving a damn. Just doing something like cleaning a glass like this kind of bar fight happens all the time. It would be such a great parallel to the first movie where the bartender panicked and tried to dial 999.
Hey Mell, (looking hella cute, respectfully) I loved your takes both good and bad on Golden Circle. Thematically, Kingsman either works better in Britain or their Statesman storyline was too gimmicky and random but as soon as they went to America the story just became a giant game of suspending your disbelief. I think the 3rd movie is the better sequel because they went back to exploring the history of the Order and is vastly more enjoyable.

If you adore this one you definitely gonna love the king's man, the prequel. Even though it can't top the first one but the balance between drama and action scene was amazing. Another peak, i might say.

Pedro pascal had the best action scenes! Loved him and Mark Strong 😢 but this is definitely one of my top 10 action movies

The director of this movie made most of the CGI look bad on purpose. This also happend in the first movie. Both of these movies are love letters to old james bond movies.

These movies were incredible
A big reason it has a negative reaction when it came out is because the trailers spoiled a lot. It's one of the best examples of a trailer spoiling a movie.
The first movie had a solid plot that followed Eggsy’s journey from working class kid to becoming a gentlemen spy and learning the truth about his father’s death, with some great action scenes along the way.
This one lacks that narrative core IMO - it feels like they started out by thinking up some fight scenes to try and top the ones in the previous movie and then tried to link them together. Eggsy overcoming his reluctance to commit to his relationship isn’t a strong enough character arc.
This and X-Men First Class is the same director
I like to think that Roxy will be revealed to have survived in the next movie
I enjoyed it for what it was, but it does not top the first movie. The original is better by a long shot but Merlin sacrificing himself made this movie stand out.

Definitely not as good as the first, but it has really solid action. The Kings Man to me is the proper continuation of the franchise, it strips down to the core of the uniqueness from the first one without stuff like the really goofy American plotline. It's a genuine spy thriller told in the Kingsman style.
Personally I don't understand the hate this movie gets. I love both movies.
It's not as good as the original (how could it be), but I still thought it was really good. Merlin's exit was epic.

Yeah, eggsy real flexible. Almost like he was a junior gymnast earmarked for the Olympics team or somethin. Also in a lot of states in the us medical professionals would recommend snoop dogg’s botanical but can’t prescribe it so people have to get it illegally, chronic pain and ptsd are the cases I hear most often. Especially in relation to returned soldiers, the medicine they get is through the government so they can’t get happy leaves regardless.

I really hope the next Kingsman is better. Now I think this movie is a 7/10 it’s nowhere near as awful as it was made out to be by critics, but they definitely went overboard on the ridiculousness. They’re definitely taking their time on the third one which makes me optimistic. Also Argylle which came out this year is linked to Kingsman so I definitely wouldn’t mind having Henry Cavill in the next one or they just wrap up eggsy’s story in the next one and continue with Henry Cavill from there on. After losing out on Superman and quitting the Witcher Henry Cavill is overdue his own franchise and he fits Kingsman perfectly. He was in a recent guy ritchie movie called ministry of ungentlemanly warfare where he gave us a very different performance than his usual role as it was much more comedic than we’re used to and Henry did surprisingly well there.
I love it when movies have a bunch of guest stars in them.its great seeing good actors playing bit parts..I liked this Kingsman but it definitely wasn't as good as the first one well not for me anyway . Juliane Moore was fantastic as a bad guy she looked crazy as hell 😂.. Hope your doing well Mello. So until the next one 💜

The prequel The Kings Man was decent....but it had one of the best scenes I've ever seen from a sound design standpoint. As a man with a lot of technical video and audio knowledge you at least need to see the "No Man's Land" scene from The Kings Man and check out how the lack of sound makes the scene the standout moment from the movie.

It's a flawed but enjoyable sequel, it's not as good as The Secret Service but it does have its moments. I'd give it an A- or a B+, the story just wasn't that good to me personally.
Action-vise this movie is amazing but there is a thing called "too much CG."
I think it's like Men In Black the fun is being introduced to the new world. So it's hard to top it with a sequel.

I definitely don’t hate this sequel, it had its fair share of fun moments. However, in my opinion, whereas some sequels don’t add enough to the franchise and don’t feel needed, this one added too much & felt a little bloated. Also, it confuses me why they killed off characters that were alive at the end of the first film, yet brought back the one character that died in the first film.
I guess technically Elton john might be a small actor, but he is far from a small celebrity, and is mutually loved my most people. And Benny and the jets is a top contender for best Elton song for sure
