DMC5 improved the RE Engine for more action-oriented titles (expect RE Engine Onimusha/Dragon's Dogma). There are some assets from RE2+RE3 to use, as well as the monster skeletons in Monster Hunter World able to be used (ex: jagras/girros/anjanath/deviljho) RE's survival horror roots are in again, and Capcom's new bestseller is a game all about giant monsters. I loved this game, loved the challenge, I wasnt the type of person to give in or back down, totally persistant, determine to get through the whole stages, It was my first real challenge game I ever played beside the retro games that when I compare it to mario, space invaders, phoenix gees there was just no comparison back then

Nah man. I think its due to hardware limitations that they had to force themselves to be creative and REALLY focus on atmosphere and shit. Had to make sure everything was atmospheric. Movement, Combat, Sound FX, Music, Lighting etc etc etc....all these things had to be worked on like major in order to make up for the graphics. These days however the hardware does all the effects and shit and all that hardware can make things all movie like with Motion Capture n what not and the atmosphere of games have changed so much compared to back then snd while it added things it also took away things that only the old games had. not saying New games are crap or they don't put much effort into it because they do but something from back then is just gone now. Its hard to put my finger on it but any old school gamer like u n me would understand. PS2 Era was the last Generation to have that. PS3 and onwards are different and its a shame.

For exemple, Harvest Moon for PS1. It was one of my fav games ever. Who knows what we are missing now!?
Omg memories! I used to play this game with my mother when i was a kid, but we needed a lot of time to get through it.. and the trex part frightened me so much that she had to do all of them and the complete ending xD
The save theme is so relaxing! I remember playing this game for the first time and when I encountered the save room I couldn't leave because the save room theme was so relaxing..I rolled my joint so many times on that theme :D so relaxing and a warm theme. Love that game

this was my first time playing it because i never played it before. but once i got used to the game i was actually into it where i wasn't as freaked out lol its like resident evil game but with dinosaurs. i was like 15 when i first played it now since i am 21 i am used to it by now.
My little sister cried so hard my parents came running in the room really worried about her and yelling against both the game and myself!!! Ahahah she had nightmares for days weeks!!!

The puzzles in this game are hard as fuck. Maybe if I played it now it would easier, but the last time I played it (which was a few years ago) I remember it being really frustrating finding keys and notes and all of that stuff.

Not sure. What I do know if you don't react (or fast enough) then you'll get damaged or die. While if you do react then there's usually no visible damage.
I remember this game! Dino Crisis was amazing and part 2 was good and the puzzles at time drove me crazy as a kid lol..I will never count Dino crisis 3 as a part of the lore tho! That alone was a sh*t bird in space of a game.

I have recently played Dino Crisis 1 and 2. I finished the second but still haven't completed the first one! It's more difficult than the second game! I was born in '95 and this reminds me my childhood! I used to watch my brother playing these ! I miss such awesome games like this! I would love to play a remake of these series!

XellDincht zombies are slow and cumbersome. Dinosaurs like the velociraptor are assumed to be rather intelligent and pack animals which hunted in groups. That's so much more terrifying

@@DfactorLongplays Weird, I'm playing the Dreamcast port now (480p) and it looks very close. I've got the PS1 version might check it out afterwards. My understanding is that the DC version is basically a port of the PC version which used better textures etc.
@@homeboyscottysfivehead2144 PC, PS1 and DC all share the same texture quality. It was a misconception spread around internet forums that DC version was superior in terms of textures or frame rate. For the best modern experience I would suggest PC version with Classic REbirth patch installed or the PS1 version running via DuckStation or Bettle HW PSX with enhancements. Either of those will give the best visual fidelity with resolution up to 4K or even above, widescreen included. As of now, Classic REbirth doesn't have depth of field applied when the game is paused, but that's rather a minor thing.

The clicking sound when you go up to the ventilation or down from it is so satisfying

When I was a kid I love this game. I've played it together with my brother as a co-player. Where he took the "playing the game" part and I'm trying my best in "not to look scared with the game" part

Thanks for Playthrough, i only recently started watching the old games from my childhood that i never got to beat. Ive literally waited and wondered for 20 years += to see how they were supposed to be played and beaten. I can now stop wondering about this game and Alone in the Dark One eyed jacks revenge. Oakwood took me here. Though I don't see why exactly a dinosaur is categorized under horror. It's more action packed to me.

Not sure.
What I do know if you don't react (or fast enough) then you'll get damaged or die.
While if you do react then there's usually no visible damage.

I remember this game! Dino Crisis was amazing and part 2 was good and the puzzles at time drove me crazy as a kid lol..I will never count Dino crisis 3 as a part of the lore tho! That alone was a sh*t bird in space of a game.
Twenty years later, and still I'm not tired of this game.
Ending as well as final T-Rex battle could have been better, but besides that, longplay was excellelent and felt like watching a movie. 9.9/10 ;)
I remember the feeling of having PTSD after playing dino crisis, its just you never know where and when the dinos are coming and the soundtracjs fits in so much and gives it more horro!! ❤👍

I have recently played Dino Crisis 1 and 2. I finished the second but still haven't completed the first one! It's more difficult than the second game! I was born in '95 and this reminds me my childhood! I used to watch my brother playing these !
I miss such awesome games like this! I would love to play a remake of these series!
loved this game! The amount of headaches looking for things blew my mind. I recently picked up up on ebay ($15au) and yeah - finding that DDK (N) & the Elevator.... ugh - did I mention I suck at these games!? =p
the graphics are surprisingly well compared to other games in its era considering its a ps1 game.

Even their body language is the same! Hell Jill can even wear Regina's outfit and hair style in RE3 :)
It's almost as if Capcom was so cheap they decided to reuse not only the RE engine, but most of the assets, including the mo-cap and character models, as well!
+Wafflepudding most games even to this day run off the same engine.
shanobian skyrim and fallout 4 run the same engine.

one of the things that has aged well from this game is the amazing soundtrack. It makes the game feel like an interactive horror movie.
zombies are incredibly overused (Angry Joe nailed it in the opening scene of his Dying Light review) Why not making a Dino Crisis game instead of another Resident Evil game?
XellDincht zombies are slow and cumbersome. Dinosaurs like the velociraptor are assumed to be rather intelligent and pack animals which hunted in groups. That's so much more terrifying

Dinosaurs were cool only in the 90s, nowadays it’s zombies. 90s basically made everything about dinosaurs which made it very popular and boring very fast.

It's hard to believe such a good looking game existed on the Playstation. It really looks on par with PS2.

That it isn't. Specifically the PS1 version. Funny enough, the DC version doesn't even have better textures.
@@DfactorLongplays Weird, I'm playing the Dreamcast port now (480p) and it looks very close. I've got the PS1 version might check it out afterwards. My understanding is that the DC version is basically a port of the PC version which used better textures etc.
@@homeboyscottysfivehead2144 PC, PS1 and DC all share the same texture quality.
It was a misconception spread around internet forums that DC version was superior in terms of textures or frame rate.
For the best modern experience I would suggest PC version with Classic REbirth patch installed or the PS1 version running via DuckStation or Bettle HW PSX with enhancements.
Either of those will give the best visual fidelity with resolution up to 4K or even above, widescreen included.
As of now, Classic REbirth doesn't have depth of field applied when the game is paused, but that's rather a minor thing.

Maybe it's the 480p vs 240p output. Essentially DC will be double the resolution.

i completed this in chinese language... i was kid..and i was only able to get that version lol.. it was sooo challenging omg ! best memories ever! writing down these signs written in green font ...to be somehow able to solve puzzles..
