It's a lovely touch in a really great show full of them, but I think they'd have to be pretty stupid to have her check out dudes in episode 2 and then have to go "Oh, she wasn't a lesbian three episodes ago, this is her new story arc"
My favorite Sister Michael moment is in the second series when she's at the wake and she's been cornered by Uncle Colm and sitting there going "Am I dead? Is this *my* wake? Am I in hell?"
I laughed so hard when she said that line when I was watching Season 1, so hard and long that I had to pause the show until I could stop laughing. I don't know why I thought it was so funny, but, it must have been a lot of things, mostly the Sister's delivery of the line and the look on the guy's face. I still giggle when I see that scene.
Got the impression that Sister Michael relates to the girls because she was like them when she was younger. She seems to admire their friendship towards the end.
That's the way it usually goes. My Mom always told me I couldn't go to spend the night at a friend's house or go to a party or go to a dance when I was in junior high , and I asked her why and she said, because I said so, so I always snapped back, you must have done the same thing you think I'm going to do and that's why you won't let me, and sometimes she'd hit me for sassing back.
She recognises mettle when she sees it. In the end, that's what she wants to see in her students. I was a high school teacher; I can relate. You want to see a little f-you. This ain't grade school.
I love Sister Michael's rare soft moments like when she sees the gang went ahead with publishing the story she banned and does nothing to stop it. You can see she's secretly proud of them😊
What I love most about the writing of her character is that she never lets her students or colleagues forget that she has a life, Hobbies and interests outside her job. Those oblique references to her outside life are just golden; she's a brilliant example of setting firm boundaries on your time and energy.

I didn't, daddy!
@@hankolio234 You just wait till you mother hears about this!
Makes it sound like she's killed before and she's moved on to nuns
"Got Judo on Friday, I don't like to miss it"..
Her face of shock that she didn't ban that song as well...
Perfect. Now, that's acting.
6:38 "Fer feck's sake..." 😁😂😂
9:43 "Feckin' weirdo" 🤣🤣🤣
Love the flag
Now I know how to spell it.😂
Claire is the only one of the whole gang who doesn't seems to be at all mesmerized by Peter's entrance... A kinda of foreshadowing as to her sexual orientation...
Not to mention that she had like twenty tins of caffeinated drinks. Lol
So glad they put this on Netflix! I can’t wait for season two.
I'm Italian and I didn't know this sitcom. Yesterday i discovered this show, and i love It !!! Super funny and brilliant.
"Sister... did you hear me?"
"Do you know what Jenny? I don't think I did."
Ha ha! Love Sister Michael's sly apathy there. Almost as if she spots Jenny's barely concealed smirk.
" you terrify me". OMG laughed out loud and woke the dog. (3am)
That was the line that made me laugh most.
Season 2: Sister Michael trapped into listening to Colm's long story, and at the story's end, the way she subtly lit up and smiled.... that there is excellent delivery.
Why is this character not more popular?! I LOVE her. "I think it's safe to say we all just lost a bit of respect for you, Claire" had me rolling with laughter. 😂😂 Need more of her - she's a MOOD.
She was like one of my fave things about this show. That and the guy that plays the main girl's dad. The side characters in this show were fantastic. Excited for the final season!
I wish I could go back in time and watch the Derry Girls again for the first time ...although I cant get enough of it even now..
this show was such a wonderful surprise. never knew I needed this in my life but god damn it's outstanding
This is one of the programs that carried me through the pandemic. I watch it frequently and never tire of it. Brilliantly done.
My friend recommended this show saying she laughed her ass off. Honestly? I couldn’t breathe too!! What a great pick me up during the pandemic
She is so down to Earth, its astonishing
This is when there needs to be a heart button on TH-cam.
Sister Micheal is hilarious! ❤
"ya know, every year I sit backstage listening to the singers and it really makes me realize just how talented..... the professionals who originally recorded these tracks were"
- Top 10 sickest burns in history
Sister Michael is a very well written character, she's deeply kind, but doesn't want her kindness to show.
I finished Derry Girls last night. I’m watching it again it’s that good!!😄😄😄👏🏻👏🏻
Love, love, love this show and Sister Michael is the cherry on top. Thank you for making such a funny and touching show. We in the States love it and as you can imagine due to the political atmosphere in this country at the moment- many of us need to find a way to laugh again. Your show has helped by providing levity during some dark times.
the trip will be dramatic pause ...... France ..... sadly I will be unable to go on this one as I despise the French. such a legend
Early 90s, agressive humor, Catholic

Irish humour.
Not you.
@@Ciaradexy actually, that is me. "Ciara"
Nah this is Irish humour. Even 2t years later we all have the same personality just we aren't a religious people anymore
"Ciara", if that is your real name lmao
Some of the best TV to come along in a long while. My only problem with it is that as an American, I had to turn on CC to figure out what they were saying, and even then missed a lot because they talked so fast! Brilliant writing and dialogue.
"you will go far Jenny but you will not be well liked" and her lecture to Jenny about pushing back are great moments too!
I love everything and all the cast of derry girls but sister Michael is my absolute favorite. No matter how many times I watch her I bust up laughing 😂.
Apparently, there was a smirk as well. I mean I’m not sure what Our Lady of the Sorrows has to be smirking about, but that’s by the by. Hahaha.
Sister Michael is the kind of teacher who rolls sass and brilliance all onto one and I honestly feel she deserves a spinoff of her own ❤️
I love how sister Michael is just so done with everything that happens
Sister Michael stands out amongst an amazing cast. So many in this cast are going to be life long stars
We all wish we could throw shade the way Sister Michael does.
The sarcasm of Sister George Michael can not be understated. She is the best of the best with zingers that are non stop. She is a legend.
I love that a complication of sister Michael's 'best bits' appears to be literally every moment she appears in the show!
You terrify me...
The “is he alright?” and “I wouldn’t say so no, He’s a priest like” kills me every time. Legend
One of the best thing I've ever watched in my life. I love this show. And I love James.
Sister Michael reminds me of a nun who thought me who played in a punk band, rode a motorbike and loved horror films. I’m convinced there’s hundreds of these types of nuns about 😂
