Her response always makes me laugh because I have friends who are teachers who have admitted to messing with their students when the school day drags on. Hopefully not as mean at this though
"you appear to be under the misapprehension that you can address me as though you are my *equal*" is such a HARD line to be coming from a nun in a comedy show lol
Sister Michael is just the boss with the honesty - to the extent of admitting that she isn't particularly religious and only really joined for the free housing
100% It could have been a bomb. Can you imagine? 3 students of yours, acting all weird and the really, really heavy suitcase is... Not theirs? No one in the bus owns this? Considering the world they lived in... That's a bomb.
For all her ornery attitude, when there was a hint of a chance that her students had been abused by a teacher in Season 2, you could see that Sister Michael was about to tear the whole world apart until she realized the error.
If something like that happens, even back then, the whole place gets turned over by the media and the police- and all the skeletons in all the cupboards get uncovered.
I love how she has a really good moral compass and cares for the students even though she pretends not to. The genuine concern when the girls say that Miss DeBrún touched them, the silent pride when the girls ignore the ban and publish the magazine, how she sends Jenny home when the POTUS goes to Derry, they all show how she cares about the students and them developing their own ideas, ideals, and opinions.
The way the writers made us not hate her for that, but actually love her more coz of it is just extra ordinary script writing , and the actress delivers each line amazing 🔥
12:39 "Food for thought, the conflict here has led to so many terrible atroceties, and now we must add your play to that list." Absolute killer of a line.
Nice little detail but have you all notice that the priest, Peter, once he got dumped by the hairdresser, his hairstyle became worse and worse with each scene? 😂 Clearly the hairdresser is highly missed )))
I really needed this woman as my principle at school. 😂😂 my favourite lines; “Sadly, I am unable to come on this one, as I despise the French.” *on phone* “We’ve had an alleged apparition here this morning. It’s of the weeping statue catagory. Apparently there was a smirk as well. Sure I know. I mean, I don’t know what our lady of the sorrows has to be smirking about, but that’s by the by.” And my personal favourite; Jenny: “shall we pray sister?” SR Michael: “No… what fckin good will that do?”
As most people know who watch Nicola on Bridgerton, she was age 31-35 during the run of this show when she played Clare but whats really funny is that Leah O'Rourke who plays tattletale Jenny Joyce is just one year younger than Nic. She has a babyface.
My great aunt was a nun great uncle is a priest. I don’t think there is anything funnier than snarky clergy. I have met Sister Michael’s real life American doppelgänger. Aunt Rita is a legend in my family for playing contact football in a full habit in the early 60s with my Dad and her other nieces and nephews.
Such a satisfyingly realistic performance. She's totally convincing ! A brilliant actress. Clearly operating on personal experience and excellent observation.
Derry Girls is the funniest thing on TV....why isn't it on DVD? Sister Michael is so hilarious....and every scene with her has me rolling on the floor!!!
I had a teacher like Sister Micheal. She wasnt a nun, but she didnt care yet cared when it mattered. One of the things she used to say was, "Raise your paws ONLY IF you know the answer/if you have a GENUINE question" while directly looking at the class clowns in our class.
9:01 they are singing a different song here than they were in the episode on Netflix! I'm guessing this song wasn't licensed for the Netflix market so they edited the scene. I can't believe this compilation actually showed me some content that isn't available on Netflix! Does anyone know if this was the original version that aired on Channel 4?
Sister Michael is who I aim to be in life.
Clare is who I actually am.
😂😂😂
Sorry about the constant anxiety lol
Right????😆💯
😂😂😂😂
this is TOO real
Sister Michael laughing while reading The Exorcist is such a mood. Iconic is an understatement
Agreed!!!
The best
I'm dying to know which part she was laughing at. I read the book and it's a wild ride 😂
“You will go far in life but you will not be well liked”😅
I didn't say you failed, I implied you failed
Why!?
Bit of a slow day 😂
Her response always makes me laugh because I have friends who are teachers who have admitted to messing with their students when the school day drags on. Hopefully not as mean at this though
I love this lmao
Just messing with them for entertainment 😂
One of my all time fav quotes of hers 😂
A legend 😂😂
"The little penguin woman is coming!"
😂😂😂😂😂
The small *angry* penguin woman.
@@Sunshine-zm1fx I wouldn't say small

"you appear to be under the misapprehension that you can address me as though you are my *equal*" is such a HARD line to be coming from a nun in a comedy show lol
That's just normal irish nun things lol. If the show'd been made in older times, there'd be a missing schene involving bible verses and a cane...
The line the hairdresser certainly did always gets me 😂
“Sadly I am unable to come on this one as I despise the French” will always be iconic
I say this on the daily just for the hell of it 😂
I came here just to hear that bit...
Sister Michael is just the boss with the honesty - to the extent of admitting that she isn't particularly religious and only really joined for the free housing
Yes ,the C of E is very much like that too😵💫.( speaking has a life long member of it)
Maybe I've got another possoble career path then...
In this economy I would too!
The genuine concern tho when she heard the teacher "touched" the student 🥹
And the genuine relief in “Oh thank god, that’s just what I need”
The amount of paperwork alone...
I think she was more concerned with the amount of paperwork she would have to fill out had a student been touched
@@_sarcasmiss2141 she was more concerned with the paperwork she’d have to fill out than any touching lol
@@aaronjones7260 😂😂😂
10/10 on the red suitcase. Serious, calm, takes charge. This woman doesn't gaf but she definitely keeps people alive.
100% It could have been a bomb. Can you imagine? 3 students of yours, acting all weird and the really, really heavy suitcase is... Not theirs? No one in the bus owns this? Considering the world they lived in...

Its true. For a moment, just a moment, the gloves came off and she was ready to raise hell
I've always loved how they include James when they say "girls". Enjoy the time you have left, girls.
"I'm a boy."
"Sure you are, love."
Sister Michael and Uncle Colm will always be my favorite
I love how she has a really good moral compass and cares for the students even though she pretends not to. The genuine concern when the girls say that Miss DeBrún touched them, the silent pride when the girls ignore the ban and publish the magazine, how she sends Jenny home when the POTUS goes to Derry, they all show how she cares about the students and them developing their own ideas, ideals, and opinions.
The concern when she thought the girls had been touched was about the scandal and potential paperwork.
"Whats happening?"
"Am I dead?"
"Is this my wake?"
"Am I in hell?"
My favorite line of dialog
"Huh that was actually quite funny "
I quote that in my daily life
That was my fave too 😂 I was wheezing and watched that scene 3 times before moving on with the rest with the episode 😂
"I think we should keep them seperate"
"I think we should keep them in cages" 😭 sister micheal you went for the throat 😂
The fact that Sister Michael's full name is George Michael which suit her so perfectly. 😆
Rumor has it that she chose it herself...They get to choose new names as they enter the novitiate, if I am not mistaken.
Sister Michael absolutely gives me life, I love how she simply says what's on her mind, not caring if she offends anyone.
The way the writers made us not hate her for that, but actually love her more coz of it is just extra ordinary script writing , and the actress delivers each line amazing 🔥
Gives me life!💯
The fact theres 30 minutes of this makes it even better
As a teacher, I find myself becoming more like Sister Michael every day.
Absolutely! Me too!
Upgrading as in a computer game...
Try being a bus driver!
I was a sub for over 12 years, and can totally relate!
You wish! 😂
12:34 when she gets up from the chair, that response she has like "not sure what I just saw", just killed me 🤣🤣🤣
12:39 "Food for thought, the conflict here has led to so many terrible atroceties, and now we must add your play to that list."
Absolute killer of a line.
😂😂😅
sister Michael with her protestant counterpart is so iconic I could watch a whole series of those two
I know that would be so funny
Sister Michael is truly one of the best characters created in the history of television!! 🤣
"Drumroll please..."
"Have you lost your actual mind?"
The best of sister Michael is typically just every moment of sister Michael
30:22 this wasn't the development in Sister Michael and Father Peter's relationship-that-they-don't-have I knew I needed, but it was the one I needed
Also subtly hints that Peter's been made to leave parishes and congregations he's grown attached to
The floods and the famines can wait for there is a child in derry that wishes me to alter the contents of an envelope 😂
😅
4: 42 that soft "what?" then relieved "oh thank god" got me 🤣
I love how she lays extra emphasis on JENNY'S AWFUL PLAY
the small angry penguin woman 😜🤣
I never fully felt represented by TV until Sister Michael. 😂
“You will go far in life Jenny. But you will not be well liked.” 😂😂
Just knowing she's walking around being Sister GEORGE Michael just adds another layer to such a hilarious performance.
Holy Christ, that ponytail is going to bring my breakfast up is one of Michelle's finest lines
Yes, I agree!
The child of prague statue with the head glued on upside down. So funny
I do like a good statue.
OK I know this is a Sister Michael tribute but the scene with James asking if the IRA famous for their swordsmandship killed me
“We do not have a relationship.” 😂
21:35 this rant is hilarious “has the whole world lost the ABSOLUTE RUN of itself?!”
Imagine what she’d say about the world today 😂
That split second of pure worry on Sister Michael's face when Erin said "She touched us" is priceless
In Sister Michael we trust 🙏🏻
“Can I be frank?” “Oh be whoever you want!” 😅
28:46
Deep down she's so proud of them.
Sister Michael enjoys Martin Scorcese and reads The Exorcist. What a bright spirit she is lol
And actually good taste in films and reading material.
My fav actress of all time. She is like my inner monologue 😂 sister michael has me in stitches all the time 😂😂😂
“…I can’t stand the tongue people…” My favorite Sister Michael moment.
IYKYK
Nice little detail but have you all notice that the priest, Peter, once he got dumped by the hairdresser, his hairstyle became worse and worse with each scene? 😂 Clearly the hairdresser is highly missed )))
And one time he had the ponytail that made Michelle wanted to throw up 😂
I have never seen this show. Sister Michael is wonderful and I will be watching just for her
I really needed this woman as my principle at school. 😂😂 my favourite lines;

And my personal favourite;
Jenny: “shall we pray sister?”
SR Michael: “No… what fckin good will that do?”
She makes the show extra funny and I can relate to her ways from Catholic Irish background
What is happening? Am I dead? Is this my wake? Am I in hell? Hahahahaha Best scene of the entire series
I appreciate how Michelle was serious about the referendum
As most people know who watch Nicola on Bridgerton, she was age 31-35 during the run of this show when she played Clare but whats really funny is that Leah O'Rourke who plays tattletale Jenny Joyce is just one year younger than Nic. She has a babyface.
Short but sweet indeed. “Shift it."
Sister Michael is an entire mood and I am here for it
Sister Michael is my spirit animal.
The hairdresser certainly did 😂
Ah ! Every moment of this is brilliant. The actress who plays Sis Michael had one of the best acceptance speeches , I think it was at Baftas.
My great aunt was a nun great uncle is a priest. I don’t think there is anything funnier than snarky clergy. I have met Sister Michael’s real life American doppelgänger. Never seen a single episde but "I know, but I'm bored now so it look like I probably will" made me watch the first episode!
Sister Michael my spirit animal 😂
Even James was part of been called ladies /girls
🤣🤣
Sister Michael have the best lines in Derry girls
Don't know if anyone's commented this but there is a Buddhist statue at her desk 😂
I watched this seriously 4 times and I never noticed! Makes this even better.
sister Michael calling god a women actually made me heal SPEAK LOUDER FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE BACK 👏
Just brilliant, all the whole of Derry Girls was brilliant
God Bless Sister George-Michael
That Belfast dig was epic. So many likeable characters in that series.
I like how sister Micheal will do things just to spite Jenny
Easily the best character
She cracked me up when I was watching this show! Like, same sister! She's such a mood 🤣
Orla does well on exams despite being sub-normal. I loved Sister Michael.
" you terrify me" 😂 😂 ..ah, Sister Michael - the one, the only 🩷
This is such a good show, finally something funny to watch ! 😂😂
‘I think we should move on…. The hairdresser certainly did’. lol Ouch! 🤭😂
The "small" angry penguin woman.
I love Siobhán McSweeney, would carry her groceries for miles & miles.
Sister Michael is a LEGEND..
Thank you for this compilation. I love so much about this series.
I want to an all girls school- We had a Sr. Michael….
I always read "Sr" as "Senor" (from southern US). Makes me wonder if I've ever missed a "Sister" in there. Good to know!
Did I just see a buddha on sister’s desk? 😂❤
She enjoys a good statue after all
18:01 this scene kills me every time
Not many people know it, but Sr. Michael went on to found the Bene Gesserits.... she HATED Arraksis.
25:19 plsss i was so caught off guard😭lmaoo
“He’s bed ridden”
“What caused it”
“Jack Daniel’s mostly” 😭😭😭😭
Hahahaha
A heathen and savage place lmao
Such a satisfyingly realistic performance. She's totally convincing ! A brilliant actress. Clearly operating on personal experience and excellent observation.
Derry Girls is the funniest thing on TV....why isn't it on DVD?
Sister Michael is so hilarious....and every scene with her has me rolling on the floor!!!
We definitely need a Sister Michael spin off!
Didn't realise how good it was. :)
I had a teacher like Sister Micheal.
She wasnt a nun, but she didnt care yet cared when it mattered.
One of the things she used to say was, "Raise your paws ONLY IF you know the answer/if you have a GENUINE question" while directly looking at the class clowns in our class.

Certainly deserved that BAFTA!
This compilation was needed!
4:43 she might rather kill herself then teach the group but its nice to see she does care about them through the immediate concern
23:15 is my favorite 😂😂😂😂 Please PLEASE do NOT come cryin to me 😂😂
Holy crap I miss this show!
The angry penguin woman is a complete savage and I'm all here for it.
Just the best! God bless her 😂😂
