The first Bioshock game explores the logical extremes of Ayn Rand's Objectivist philosophy. Everything you hear Andrew Ryan spout is from her. She was a Russian defector who championed capitalism while attacking all religion and Christianity in particular. Bioshock 2 explores the worst of communism. Bioshock Infinite explores American Jingoism.
Thing to notice (no spoiler) = 1. When you press start you can see the numbers of Big Daddys and Little sisters per level, so you dont move until you collect all of them 2. Take pictures of the different enemies until the game dont laet you, you can gain damage against enemies and usefull plasmid and stuff, I always go with my camera first and then change weapons Love that you are playing one of my favorites games!
Your intuition on a lot of plot points has been really interesting so far, and I'm loving watching you unravel this underwater mystery. Actually, its inspired me to reinstall and play through again myself. Looking forward to more videos and seeing you enjoy a classic.
Big daddies do not have names but they do have types based on their primary weapon and combat behavior. The 'Rosie' type uses the rivet gun and mostly attacks with range; the 'Bouncer' you faced in the medical pavilion uses the drill and can only do melee attacks
This is truly one of my all time favorite games and easily one I wish I could experience for the first time again. Can’t wait to see how you react to future events
You are correct! Eden is refrering to the Garden of Eden. In the dialog used, "We're going to build Eden," Eden is used as a similie to something that is "perfect, beautiful, pristine or a paradise."
Found your channel today due to Bioshock, which is my favorite game trilogy. Happy to see someone enjoying this masterpiece as well. Btw, just saying, don't know if it's a reflex thing or something, but sometimes you shock the machines twice, which is unnecessary since it just makes you lose more eve... Now would you kindly continue this nice series and enjoying your time with it? Hugs from Brazil! (Oh, take pictures of the enemies, it will help you a lot).
One strategy I adopted after a while was deliberately setting off alarms so they would send a drone after me. I would hack it, then hack the camera to get them on "my side". :)
Just a few tips: -You can hit the locks off doors and gates with your Wretch to conserve ammo and EVE. -Closed doors that have a sparking Door Control next to it, can be opened by zapping the Door Control with an Electro Bolt. -You can photograph the same enemy several times to increase the damage you inflict to that enemy type (including Turrets, Security Bots, and Security Cameras) and get rewards (which is the case with Little Sisters). -There are two different types of Big Daddy's: Bouncers (whose weapon is a giant drill) and Rosies (whose weapon is a giant Rivet Gun). -Time freezes when you hack things, so you don't have to worry about turrets or enemies attacking you while you're hacking. -If enemies are in water, you can ki11 them with an Electro Bolt. -Proximity Mines can be used to lay traps. Like if you lay several in the path of a Big Daddy, you can do way more damage than you would if you fire one directly at it.
Just to add to this each type of enemy has multiple research levels. The camera uses film (ammo) that you can buy or find, you can photograph the same enemy multiple times it just has lower value each time. Dead enemies can give points too but not much so try and snap before you take them on.
I felt for you after the quick click at the weapon upgrade station, game should give you a warning confirmation box or something. Loving the playthrough still!
this game and borderlands were fun games to play back in the day. you're a perceptive and competent player. quick on your toes. good work. look forward to the next one.
being able to use your brain to figure out what's going makes it more enjoyable to watch would you kindly keep demonstrating your skills at hacking and photography
I cannot believe no one told her 1.the gold arrow at the tells you the way to go.2 that there is another vending machine to buy plasma like fire to the melt said ice blocking other way.
Bioshock requires you to become morally compromised to one degree or another - and you, ultimately, are the guardian of said morals 💪 (By the time the third game comes out, Bioshock takes a very specific moral stand that will define who you are... so look forward to that!)
Girl gamer: So sorry I killed you Boy gamer: Smashes dead body with wrench Really enjoying your vid. Jealous you are getting to play BioShock for the first time 👍
Sooo hard not to spoil the plot for you, but you are super smart, you'll figure it out. You are a special girl. The fastest "Let's Player" in the universe
The entire game if filled with Christian terminology to be specific, not just "religious". Rapture, Adam, Eve, Garden of Eden are pretty basic understandings that are also a part of pop culture at this point.
“Big daddy’s” are protectors (like fathers) of the “little sisters” and both are human beings… I won’t say anything else in regards to the origins of them to not spoil anything for you!
@@Black-lq2pb Planning on it! It would be a second playthru that focuses on the story and environment! My first was streamed on Twitch but I was pretty distracted hehe

Not sure why this showed up in my feed, but here I am on part 3. What a game! Love witnessing you slowly piecing it together.
Loving the play through. The song at 39:10 is called "Amazing Grace". The garden of Eden is a bible reference but eden can just mean a paradise.
Thank you! I was like I know this song..... What is it?

"ADAM", "EVE", "EDEN", definitely a lot of biblical references in this game for sure.
and ironically the immorality that religion likes to hide by pretending to be above others in terms of morality

the story of room 7 shows just how impressive the environmental storytelling is in this masterpiece

Keep taking pictures of absolutely ALL enemies until the research maxes out … including cameras, turrets, and bots … and little sisters too.

I watched you just straight-up walk past multiple tonics in this video and it made me want to tear my hair out lol.
she didnt miss a single bottle of alcohol though lol
Pro tip! Shoot a couple of proxy mines on to a explosive tank, the use telekinesis to throw it at a big daddy, can be a one hit kill.
Definitely need to try this on my next playthrough.

Btw if you ever play bioshock the original again , you can take a picture of the same splicer or enemy twice and get exp! Now you know
So what made you decide to start with Bioshock?
I heard it was a fantastic game and it was one that I probably wouldn't have gotten around to playing for a long time on Twitch!
So exited for Alien Romulus, im pestering my friends to watch it in Imax with me
Omg I am thinking of watching it tomorrow... Hmmm

I am fully aware that the gold arrow is the correct direction but I like exploring!
i just love this game so much!
I can't help but wonder why you never electroshock the Big Daddies to stun them, or use any plasmids on them?
Remember to use the electro plasmid on those locked doors with the sparking switches. It looked like you missed a couple while exploring

Haha we've all accidentally stopped an audio log halfway through!
If you zap the sparking door switches they'll open.
you forgot to open a door at 1:60:05 you kept wondering how to get there, but you just needed to zap the lock to open the door LMFAO

its nothing personal, its strictly business
