My god, she made me hear this aria I heard a million times as if for the first time. What a gift and what wonderful support by the director and conductor. This is truly great.
She didnt go down for a second time (if you know what I mean). This is really a role for a contralto not a mezzo & we have enough roles for sopranos as it is without turning this one into some useless hybrid.
What's with the chocolate biscuit and the test-tubes of coloured liquids? This is an eccentric interpretation and much better listened to than watched. The tone and delivery was somewhat more matronly than we are used to with Rosina. It's not the voice of a naughty, mischievous adolescent, but nonetheless impressive.

This was the most original & beautifully-sung versions I've heard. That set-design is as original & beautiful as the singing.
Love the rich timbre of the low notes!!! Amazing!!
Que placer es escuchar esta versión. Realmente maravillosa.
I love power combined with tenderness in her voice.
exactly! so confident
Got her on CD about 30 years ago. Still listen to it, an absolute magician...
I'm entranced by her beautiful and powerful voice!
I love the cloying richness of her voice. It reminds me of a deep brown overstuffed leather chair that's impossibly comfortable
Most opera fans are so stuffy. It's beautiful and we all love it, and the singers don't need your negativity. Calm down!
Brilliant set and singing! I love her playfulness 😊
cool that I can see the sheet music and realized that nobody sang it as written...
carolcheny It is Bel Canto custom to flourish the music with ones own vocal runs ;)
Maybe Berganza. She used to be very respectful of the authors and their sheets.
It was/is normal and expected to add embellishments in keeping with the musical style of this era.

That's a key characteristic of singing Bel Canto!
Thanks for posting with the libretto and score! It's a great help.
Tremendous technique and consistency up and down the registers.
I am a "big fan" of this set... And performance 😁😉
I'd never wave away that pun.
Ba dum tss
Una voce bella!
Wonderful, Bravo.
Is a contralto coloratura
SUPERB!!!
Brava! what a performance!
Damn what pipes
that's one of my favorit arias, no tragedy, just joy of life and humor!
Precious voice - powerful and smooth
Exquisite!
Merci.
She is the one and only Rosina!!!!!
Seen her twice in Vienna in this role!!!
What a set!
Lovely depth to the low notes.
DIVINA
It's amazing 😊
so inovative..
Brava!
Gracias!
she is great
Best aria today
Genial
I saw Kasarova and Florez in all 7 performances of Barbiere in 2001! They were THAT good.

The original version of the aria is in G and is meant for a contralto to sing it. The key has been changed to suit Sopranos and mezzosopranos.
I thought she was referring to Lindor chocolate 🙄
She doesnt sing all the low G sharps. This is a contralto aria. When will we ever hear a proper contralto signing it?
Ewa Podleś
Too magnificent probably? - this has to have a lot of playful mode?
The chem tho 🤣
Since when did it become the Chemist of seville. Not bad, but not very good
+Lara Tan That's Dr. Bartolo's house, not Figaro's shop.
love is chemistry...
DELICIOSA
What's all that distracting perfume stuff? She's talking to the audience!
I prefer the version of Cecilia Bartoli, but this is also a great performance
du bist shön
Beautiful voice, darling! Congratulations! But not for this aria!
biji roje min EV Deng hiskir
Looks like Jack Ma, hahahaha
This mess is just another example of producers thinking that they they are more important than the composer.
one of the worst versions ever. small notes mostly ignored
