Never read the Bible never been religious, in fact and I’m not too proud to say this I’ve disrespected Jesus Christ/Christianity many times before, due to my lack of knowledge of the gospel and arrogance. But these people and my brother single handily opened my mind/heart to Jesus Christ.
My first bible arrives this Friday.

George, as a recovered weed addict who smoked everyday for 15+ years of my life, surrender it. Trust me. We don’t need it. I cannot BELIEVE I am clean today, but I am and I have NEVER been better!!!!! Watch your spirit transform even more when you give it up.

Same here, over a decade of poppers (weed and tobacco in a bowl) 4 in a row, every 20-40 minutes. It was absolutely terrible for me. I can't lie, I've gone back to it a few times since I "quit" but only a handful of times were they good, fun experiences where I felt like how the movies make it to be, the rest were grogginess, tirelessness, anxiety and just a bad taste in my mouth. I was so used to it that I forgot why I even started smoking to begin with. So now, even though yeah I might every few months take a toke, and if I feel the urge to do it shortly after I remind myself, is it cuz I want to? or because I have to? and if its my body telling my I NEED to get high, I look to god and he gives me the ability to flat out say no. May god bless you Marissa I hope you're having a wonderful day!

I’m with you on this one been smoking 15 years since I was 13 I prayed and prayed to be a better man for my kids. WOW haven’t even had the desire. Stopped for a few days it was miserable smoked again and I hated the feeling. Every time I had the itch I opened the book of John. Can’t explain it other than the Lord gave me the strength and filled the hole…. Proud of you! It’s not easy. But with help of the LORD anything is possible.
      I’m praying for you George.

Similar story here. Smoked since I was 13 and eventually stopped when I was 27 or so, but only by God's help. I tried so many times by myself but I could never do it.
I didn't think it affected me negatively and I smoked from waking up to going to bed, held down jobs and acted like a 'normal' human being... But since God delivered me from it I can think more clearly, I have more access to money (all of which used to go on marijuana and cocaine, which he also saved me from BTW), Im more present in the world and care a lot more. It was a big form of escaping reality for me. But I personally cant/won't do it anymore.. I have a couple of times since stopping and I could literally feel the demons trying to get a hold of that area of my life again and I won't let them. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
I don't have any cravings anymore, when I smell it I'm completely turned off from it because I know it's such a slippery slope and not one that will benefit me or those around me.
All the Glory goes to God for setting me free 🙌 man cannot live by bread alone, but by every word that procedeth out of the mouth of God. Bless you all

I agree also from experience I’ve learnt if you try and argue for your own justification on topics like drugs swearing etc that it’s ok it’s not you have to hold god at number 1 and anything else that’s fighting that you have to put it under the feet of Jesus give up your life don’t be of the world and don’t try and justify things you know is wrong deny the flesh

@@jontyharris5249 sanctification process is real too though and deliverance can happen in stages as well. The moment the convictions stop coming is when you've convinced yourself out of righteousness and accounablity . God has graciously rigged me off of daily habits , behaviours and thought patterns but there is still some left im battling with on the daily, I feel guilty about it everyday but I understand now that this is a partnership agreement that I've come into with him. there are things he wants to teach me , walk me through , love me through, discipline out of , he wants me to lean on him and be brave and courageous and continue to choose him , I know he's using them for a testimony one day to help one of my brothers or sisters in christ thats going through it too, to help them skip some of the pain I recklessly created myself. I still feel guilty because I love him so much and I want my actions to reflect that in EVERY aspect of my life. I am responsible to have grit and push through ANDDDD I also worked for the other side for 35 years of my life I just found Jesus a year ago, it takes time , healing and finding your identity through him sometimes it takes time... Daniel 11:35 "Some of the wise will stumble, so that they may be refined, purified and made spotless until the time of the end, for it will still come at the appointed time'

@hiphopsjester942 nonsense. God can use men to further his kingdom. He shows us this time and time again. When He speaks of the great commision, He tells us disciples to go forth and spread the gospel to all nations. There is a reason for that. It is true that George cannot save her son or anyone elses. Only Jesus can. But He wants his message heard. And can use others to glorify His name and help lead others to salvation. It is possible George can help lead to salvation, not gift it.

I came to God begging and screaming when I decided to give up alcohol and sexual immorality. I had no idea the power satan had and how much I was tormented. I pleaded with God for forgiveness and tried to repent of every sin imaginable for the evil thoughts and voices to go away. They did eventually and I'm happily sober from Alcohol, Nicotine, and THC for 24 days now. It was an up and down battle over the course of a year and a half. God is good and can heal our minds from so much sin.
    Amen

I struggled with Marijuana too wondering whether it was sinful or not. Watching this and the Tate podcast where you asked the same question has brought me to my own conclusions. I finally decided to put it down. Why? My main reasoning was because the bible speaks about double mindedness, and I do feel like I am a different person when I smoke.. this may have been innocent to me, but it led me to think on how many of our sins begin as innocent things that eventually cause us long term damage. Another scripture I saw mentioned that I should be honoring God in all the things that I do, so I also began to wonder if I could justify in an honest way how I might be honoring him through that habit, and I failed to make an argument that didn't fill me with conviction. I felt like God exposed my own heart to me, and my heart was excusing my habits and distorting facts to fit my desires which led me to a place of repentance. Saying goodbye to it was difficult, but I know for sure now that I am opening my mind to God in order to hear him clearly 24/7 which makes me feel more confident in allowing the enemy any room inside of my temple.

I wasn’t born a Christian. My partner is South African and her family are very religious. It took me 2 years to acknowledge and accept god. The overwhelming presence in the household was too much to ignore any longer. July 2021 was when I fully surrendered. I got my first job in finance after struggling for several months. I was someone with no self belief and no confidence. God got me through that interview and I got the job. I thanked him for that and still to this day. I was saved. Since that moment, my life has changed. I am a completely different person, all thanks to god. Just writing this makes me emotional. I am just so grateful. Yes I still have challenges and doubt myself everyday but God turns up everyday and gets me over each hurdle and proves to me, anything is possible with him. I love videos like this because it helps me to have this conversation with my family (Who really don’t understand Christianity and are against religion in general) to be able to tell them of gods work. I mean we are all evidence of his work. They can see first hand, what god can do. It’s no coincidence that I am where I am today. This was all God. I just pray one day, they will see that.

Hey man. I'm a nobody, but I have to say how proud of you for standing up for your faith when it comes to the podcast you used to be a part of. My faith was wavering at best, but my wife and I finally got married about a month ago and we wrote our own vows etc. A part of my vows I wrote were that "I would be a spiritual leader for my family together united in Christ" because my wife has always been truly faithful and showed it just as in 1 Peter (I truly believe God sent her to me to bring me back to him.) I thought I understood what being a Christian was until I made God a priority in my life, asking him to guide me and mold me in full submission to his will. Instead of saying I'll do this for me, it's "I'll do this if God wills it." I can't begin to describe just the emotions that I've felt throughout this whole month. I used to not care about the sin I was living, but now I truly mourn of the sins I've committed and going from someone who lacked emotions other than anger, envy, and each negative emotion. I find myself just overcome with joyful tears of "Why me, God?, why would you want to save someone like me?" and a need/ sense of urgency to live for things other than myself. Keep doing what your doing because there's plenty of people out there that need to hear the things you stand for. May God bless you.

I was raised Roman Catholic, I’ve strayed away because it’s easier to live without religion (so I thought) and because why would God make my dad sick and have me worry about him to the point I wanted to end my life to end my suffering.
I went through a phase where I was militantly atheist. I deeply regret that time in my life. But I like to think everything happens for a reason.
I started seeing George and Cliffe videos about 4-5 days ago. They both brought me back to my faith. I started reading the Bible this morning. And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace.
But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work
your good or bad deeds after you are born again get you rewards in heaven or not BUT are not a judgement factor for entering heaven or hell. Your sins past present future are all forgiven

Yeah for sure brother, when you meet God at the gates and he ask you why you should enter the saying is “in my hands nothing I bring but to the cross I cling” because our lives our imperfect we can offer nothing to God to enter heaven, he takes no bribes and we have nothing to offer him, so he offered his son for us to live the perfect life and pay our fine for the crimes of sin that we have all committed. In conclusion, chase that RELATIONSHIP with God, know him through the Bible and act as a vessel of the Holy Spirit which lives in you. God bless ❤✝️

Every. Single. Time. It feels as though he is after confirmation of his own understanding or opinion rather than actually learning from someone with far more experience and who is much better versed in the gospel. It’s a treat and a privilege to have some of the people he has on the show, and I know what George thinks already. It’s his show. I want to hear what THEY have to say.

However you’ll know you’re truly saved when you detest sin and are actively seeking God and avoiding sin. And once in that place, you’re human you’ll still fall short and sin, but pray, repent, and continue sharing the good news. I think the swearing at church bit is a great illustration of how we (subconsciously) find loopholes to justify behaviors we are convicted of but want to keep indulging in.
Swearing at church isn‘t ok out of reverence for God but outside of church it‘s ok? We as believers are indwelled with God’s Holy Spirit which makes us the temple of God; so wether we are in a church building or not; God is right there which means that our reverence for Him should remain the same. We need to be careful to not create loop holes or let our behavior be determined in unwise ways by the place we‘re at or the people we‘re with. Who we are when nobody‘s looking (well, God’s always with us but you get what I mean 😄) shouldn‘t be too different from when everybody‘s looking.

I was not raised in a Christian home. My father had a very tumultuous relationship with God and was raised Catholic. I got into drinking and drugs from age 12, very low self-worth. I identified as agnostic then eventually got into new age and even worshiped false idols, but there were seeds planted along the way of Jesus. That is so important because when I was 21, in a motel six parking lot I fell to my knees and cried out to God and he came. I had a supernatural experience that most Christians never have. So I don’t think that people that don’t know Christ are at an unfair advantage or that they’re loved any less but it’s super important as you said to plant those seeds at a young age!

This is the representation Christians should be known for. Cliffe and Stuart are doing wonderful things with how they preach about God and how honest they are when answering tough questions. I also love that they acknowledge that they are sinners, tell how they sinned, and give examples of how to overcome that sin. If anyone watching this does not question whether or not their church is in an earthly way and not God's way, Cliffe and Stuart give a good representation of how churches should be and how they should love God. I am usually not a podcast watcher but I watched this whole podcast and could not stop watching it.

I read this verse last night and it brought me to tears.
Matthew 13:10 16; But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear. For truly I tell you, many prophets and righteous people longed to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it.
We are so fortunate to be able to read the word and hear the good news when there are so many who were greater than us who never had the opportunity. We should be truly thankful for the gift of Christ. It is through him that we may be saved from eternal damnation. Amen and thank you Lord 🙏 .

I smoked weed for 15+ years and finally stopped this year. And what brought me to realize it is that I craved it, and I believe the only thing we should crave is God. Also the old word for drugs was a translation of sorcery (Using substances that alter our spiritual state and barriers. Making us more vulnerable to demonic attacks.) Which was specifically forbidden.
I don’t think we would feel so regularly convicted in our hearts if weed was good and meant to be consumed to get high. I don’t think giving in to the things our flesh calls us to crave brings us closer to God.

What he's talking about is not a fairy tale. How can you hear all the evidence pointing towards God's existence and still not do anything about it?
I just wanna let you know that God loves you so much that he came as a man (Jesus Christ) and paid our fine by enduring the most gruesome beating and got nailed to a cross so that our sins could be forgiven once and for all. He resurrected 3 days later and defeated death. Now all we have to do to have eternal life is Trust in him, believe he was raised from the dead and repent by turning our back on our sin and turning to Jesus ❤
Again the 10 commandments are called the moral law that is written on our hearts. You and I broke the law, Jesus came and paid the fine. Just like you can get bailed out of jail by someone who didn't pay the crime is the same way Jesus paid our fine in full on that cross. It's not religion It's relationship.

George, I know several people have already addressed this with you, but I want to make sure it’s addressed to you honestly and respectfully.
This was a fantastic episode with some real, raw conversations and I appreciated the honesty. I wish, however, that Cliff and his son would’ve been able to speak a bit more. There were some questions that were asked I feel we never got a clear answer for because they were interrupted or the segment got cut.
One specific example is the question about cursing. At the end of it, there are jokes being made and we never get a clear answer.
I haven’t researched this enough to know for sure, but I do believe by the way you are talking that you are feeling convicted about cursing and smoking weed. I, myself, LOVED cuss words. And I definitely had the mindset for a long time of using them to become more approachable, but then I thought about it. Are there other sins we would commit in order to relate to others? Would we go to a department store with a thief and steal something in order to be more approachable to him? Would we participate in the distribution of child cornography if it would help us reach pedophiles? No! We would never do that. The whole purpose of our salvation isn’t to get down and dirty with others. It’s to show others what God has done for us - what he has brought us out of. I think these exact conversations you had on this podcast could’ve been done without chasing and been just as meaningful, if not more meaningful. At the same time you’re trying to bring people to Jesus by cursing, you’re turning people away from Jesus by doing it too. God didn’t hang out with sinners because he approved of their actions. He hung out with sinners to show them love and encourage them, but He never stooped to sin.
Just something to ponder on. Thank you for bringing us this message!

I needed this podcast. I became a follower of Christ about a year ago, and got baptized in July. Cliffe’s videos were a big part in me getting over my skepticism and hesitation on Christianity.
I was doing great for a time, and am much better off now then before becoming a believer, but I’ve stumbled here and there and been struggling with health and financial issues lately. Cliffe has a great way of being honest and transparent when he doesn’t know an answer, and yet having excellent arguments on the misconceptions surrounding Christianity. I urge anyone that’s curious to check out his Ask Cliffe series or the compilations on TH-cam if you’re looking for more answers and clarity!

I also came to christ about a year ago, and have heard a lot of testimonies around the same time of a lot of young peoples lives changing because of Christ I think God was doing something in peoples hearts (and still is) around that time especially for some reason. He freed me from the bondage of opioid addiction and suboxone medication I had been on for like 8 years and 10+ years of general drug addiction, and my life has been radically different since October last year (also obviously I still have my struggles and nowhere near perfect but it’s night and day to who I was before Christ showed up in a big way for me) I’m curious though how old are you? I was 23 at that time, now almost 25.

Absolutely love the honesty in this. Asking so many questions we all ask ourselves. I'm Christian and for the past 5-10 year I can't even remember iv slowly hated myself more and more for struggling with swearing, porn and what comes with that and weed. And to see you speak so honestly on these things is so encouraging, knowing that God is the Judge and only His opinion matters. I often get hung up on the fact that I am not good enough, and it rips me apart, and so many Christians act like the second you put your trust in Christ all these things just go away instantly, so it gets me asking myself well with me they don't, they slowly change over time. So I start to doubt my salvation. But seeing you been so open and honest about your walk with God almost brings me to tears because it shows me there is hope for me. Thank you and God bless you ❤
