I grew up atheist most of my life and later became agnostic. May of 2023 at age 42, I couldn't deny it anymore and I gave my life to Christ. Greatest thing to happen to me

I alway tell people now it’s a difference between knowing GOD and actually knowing GOD… anybody can say they know and believe in GOD, but actually knowing GOD means knowing his word and living out his word daily knowing his will it’s hard but as long as you got GOD on your side he makes it easier… so with that been said I’m like you…

Correct, and most importantly, always follow God, not man's ways. There's nothing wrong with some tradition as long as it doesn't go above. God and his word wants. It becomes a man's tradition overguards. Were then you start down the road? Of disaster, so God bless you on your research.

Yes that's a curious thing. I've noticed how deep a belief many atheists/naturalists have. They have such faith that if only science has a little more time it can find the truth of their naturalist belief.
Evolution is a great example. No one has proof how life started, but it simply "must" have occurred chemically in that primordial soup.
No one has proof how one species can drastically evolve into another, and no one can (or will) answer the biochemical genius James Tour's questions.
No one can answer how or why there appears to be something like digital code in our DNA, or how, in case it's natural, how both the information storage (DNA) could evolve by small, gradual mutation simultaneously with the decoder mechanisms (RNA), such that the magical information can be expressed as proteins.
I'm going out on a limb here, but to my mind there's a chance that evolution is akin to a flat earth model or Newtonian physics. Good in isolation, but misses the bigger picture.
Like ... flat earth models are great when you're building a normal house, here you don't have to account for the Earth's curvature.
But what if evolutionary theory can't explain 1) the origin of life and 2) how one species can transform into a fundamentally different one?
Well, it would leave evolution as a theory that explains an admittedly huge variability, from wolf to doberman to Chihuahua. To explain the rest we might need a completely new theory for life (or maybe a rather old one😊)

As a believer in Christ since 2006.....as of lately I have been working on being a person of integrity and communicating with kindness. Pastor Cliffe videos encourages me that it can be done. You can disagree with others without belittling them or degrading them. I'm glad I can watch these videos because I've always chosen to avoid conflict and that not always necessary for me. With regards to what people view as rational, that has changed massively over the past few hundred years thanks to our understanding of science. The more we learn about our origins, and the world we live in, the more rational it seems. We have much better answers to many of lifes questions.

    • @davidplummer2473

There isn't much left to learn about our origins that will affect day to day life. Our origins are either God/some supernatural cause or we somehow sprang miraculously from lifeless matter and energy. There is no door number 3.
If it's matter and energy, learning about it tells you nothing about morality or love or any of the things that make life worthwhile. It's like thinking that studying tax law will make you a good surgeon or mechanic.

If you could share any of these new answers you say you have that are actually new and not centered around allowing the loss of values, purpose, and moral absolutes there may be a shred of likelihood to what you’re saying. I have heard people say before there are new and better answers but the answers themselves have always been very disappointing.

"The more we learn about our origins, and the world we live in, the more rational it seems. "
Is that subjective opinion/feeling/exp or objectively true to reality?
1a)If subjective opinion, why should we listen to it as true to reality?
b)Do we blindly “take your word for it” in faith?
c)Have you ever made a mistake?
d)How do you KNOW you’re not making a mistake now?
2)If objectively true to reality, it logically requires an objective (Existing independent of or external to the mind; actual or real) foundation for your claims….do you have one?
Where do you get "rationality" from a godless worldview of an unguided, blind, pitiless, indifferent universe born from chance/chaos/nothingness/unknown/stardust where a rock in the road is as valuable as a person, made from the same theoretical primordial material?

Atheism has NEVER been considered "rational", especially in the dumbed down ignorant manner atheists define themselves today! And Bonnie here is utterly clueless regarding the origins questions. And if what he blindly believe were true-origins doesn't matter anyhow. Once more, good old Bonnie, hell bent on unbelief in the God of the Bible (whom he hates with a passion), demonstrates for us that he can't be either rational or consistent-that he's spent decades NOT thinking any of this through. It is the same thing, week after week, month after month, year after year. He doesn't THINK and thus fails to ever learn.

hi denton, i thought the guy in the green top spoke a lot of sense, especially concerning what we deem as our purpose in life. How old were you when you figured out your purpose in life, and what would you say that purpose is? I dont happen to believe we are born with a specific purpose, as the guy in the green said, we tend to find things in life that we're good at, or enjoy doing. We are social creatures, it's in our best interests to cooperate and get along with others.

@@bonnie43uk What he say is not wrong, and Cliff and Stuart don't think so if you watch them. But what green shirt guy doesn't realize, what's the evidence for that? The way you live your life, it's our best interests to cooperate with each other...untill it isn't. See the way he talks just describes how we usually as humans live our lives, but not why we live out lives.
That way of living is relative or subjective, it doesn't guarantee a peaceful or loving way of living.
I enjoy doing what makes me happy, what I am good at- but a killer also said so, a thief said " I am good at robbing, the thrill of getting away gives me life".
Is not that what the green shirt guy say is wrong, but in the same route,we don't have a set purpose, that purpose can be for good or for bad, and without a guideline, good and bad is made up.
See, that's how we currently live, we live for what makes us happy we might help each other from time to time, but also not.
But Cliff says that he knows and has evidence for a set purpose and a set moral, focused on love and help throughout dark times. Jesus has evidence, if you choose to believe in him he will give you purpose, you aren't just evolved cells floating across space, you are a loved creation, ment to love God and love each other humans always.
See, how we live now is very selfish, we help others according to what we believe, but that belief is not consistent.

@bonnie43uk Hello Bonnie! I was referring to his ideas that all religion is the same. But I also think it is irrational to say one has a purpose if there is no god. To make my own purpose I would have to argue that every other purpose is just as valid as mine so the person who hates others because of skin color, the antisemitism, rape, thief, all are equally valid purpose, I can not except that kind of thought. My purpose is no difference than everyone else, to love and serve God, and love my neighbors as my self. To be honest I didn't know my purpose for years, I whent through life thinking of myself only, and what I could get out of life, living the lie the stong survive, it basically came to being selfish. Don't get me wrong I still struggle with selfishness, it is a daily battle, sad to say I still loose someday. So what about religion being the same, what do you think? Do you think those who you disagree with you on morality and their purpose have a valid point?

    • @bonnie43uk
      @bonnie43uk 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@dentonhahn2907 i believe when we're children growing up, we're not aware of any specific purpose as such. I can only speak for myself obviously. It's not something you hear a child ever say "My purpose in life is. . . " As you correctly said, even as adults we may not be aware of any specific purpose. This is why I thought the student in the green expressed it quite well in saying we make our own purpose. As regards to someone who believes there purpose is to hate and do terrible things, the vast majority of us just want a nice trouble free life. I would love to get into the mind of someone like Trump, a pathological liar and see what makes them the way they are.

@@Theo_Skeptomai Its a response to the assertion that (as opposed to religion assertions of truth) "my position is better because it is open to "new" information and thus is better at finding truth".
Stuart catches this notion of "better" to recognise this is in fact a moral claim of better not a logical one. I say this because the position is "logically" false if it's proposed search for truth is considered... "logically" Better for finding truth.
Thus this is a value claim, where the search for truth is a higher value.
So stuart's brain working on some sort of xp boost.
denies this dichotomy whilst precisely exposing the axiom the atheist in the video is unaware of.
it is particularly profound because it exposes why many atheists are attracted to this axiom...it resolves responsibility of holding a position while being aligned with said position. in this case the position represented by "the truth".
it also explains why atheists like to say they have a lack of belief rather than a position on the "Existence of God".
The profoundness doesn't stop there as it explains that this axiom explains why an atheist may be at odds with the traditional masculine role of a father as the father in tradition is a form of dictator. a father is I a source of truth in the way " anyone aligned with the family must obey". as an atheist believes in a higher value of searching for the truth, the thought that what the father says goes is repulsive to the atheist.

Supposing there was no intelligence behind the universe, no creative mind. In that case, nobody designed my brain for the purpose of thinking. It is merely that when the atoms inside my skull happen, for physical or chemical reasons, to arrange themselves in a certain way, this gives me, as a by-product, the sensation I call thought. But, if so, how can I trust my own thinking to be true? It's like upsetting a milk jug and hoping that the way it splashes itself will give you a map of London. But if I can't trust my own thinking, of course I can't trust the arguments leading to Atheism, and therefore have no reason to be an Atheist, or anything else. Unless I believe in God, I cannot believe in thought: so I can never use thought to disbelieve in God.

UT Austin is the Berkley of the southwest. Unfortunately many Phd professors and faculty worship the "God" of higher education. Is seems the worst in the College of Natural Science and The Science of Natural History Museum AKA Texas Memorial Museum. They teach there evolution as fact, even when their is no real observable Science for evolution. Why? Because the evolutionists had to remove the God of the Bible to form their false narrative. Geologist and lawyer Charles Lyell, a friend of Charles Darwin, wrote in a letter (Lyell came up with the millions of years theory) that his biased goal was "To rid the world of the science of Moses." @@jk.9300 physically no ofcourse Jesus isn't on the earth anymore. The argument about Jesus being a real person has already been backed up we all know Jesus is a real historical figure same as Martin Luther King etc. So Jesusis a real person thats been proven years ago no question about it, go check it out. So the real question you should have asked is have I seen god which no nobody has seen god because he Isn't a physical being we all can experience his presence, hear his voice, see his powers in our lives which I've experienced and for me it's no doubt the man is real.
People just don't wanna go the extra mile to actually get his attention we have to be ready to have a relationship those are the people he's looking for. Not those who wanna use him for blessings only.

@@jk.9300 now to follow up on your question nobody needs and should need to see god or Jesus physically or spiritually to believe and lots of people do exactly that. People need to stop going around thinking godcor Jesus is gonna just show up in their kitchen one day and say hey here I am! God is powerful enough to show himself in many ways spiritually which he does more than we think and folks still reject him even when proof is in play.
My question to you is what is holding you back from believing in God? Is it really the fact that you've never seen him or his son in anyway, shape, form? Or is it deeper than that. The real question is have you seen Jesus and which obviously you havnt my friend maybe it's time to change that just like I did it was the best decision ever.

Love how the last guy mentions the word “better.”
What standard of good does he compare from to justify what’s better?
    Talk about blind faith.

Any standard will do. But i think you mean objective standard. Which doesn't exist no matter what we want of what makes us feel better.

@@deannavarro777 A moral standard is basically a ruleset you can measure your action against to determine if its good or bad, better or worse than some other action.
There are objective moral standards and subjective moral standards, both are moral standards.
So someone with a subjective moral standard can also say if something is "better" even when he doesn't use an objective moral standard.
So any moral standard can do this.
Only those without a moral standard can't. But not having an objective one does not mean you do not have one.
As for your further questions: No there are no moral absolutes. Killing someone is wrong in most cases but not in war or self defense.
Stealing is wrong in most cases unless you are starving and someone else has more than they need ect.
Very few things are always 100% of the time wrong. But in those cases this is only because 100% of everyone's subjective standard converges on a 100% consensus. Which does not make it objective.

Jesus Christ said I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end. So if God always existed then why did Jesus Christ said I am the beginning, beginning means something starting.

The first and the Last means that there is no other. He is the First, and there is none other, and He is the last, and there will never be another. Saying that He is the begining and the end is pretty much the same, but with other words. He is the Begining and the End - He is Completeness.

It also brings up creation, Jesus created all things, the universe had a beginning, basically Jesus is the first cause, from him and by him all things exist, he is eternal.
