I truly enjoy when they breakdown the manuscript variance. People outside of academia/scholarly study at least 10-15+ years ago read Bart Ehrmans take on the New Testament and the "errors" he found with the texts. It was a huge weight in some athiests pockets to pull out a variance issue or a difference in the text to drop on a christian who wasnt versed in the subject.
To basically say "discount the bible because of the errors/variations in the texts" is like saying throw out the library because of a gramatical difference between authors/scribes.

atheists aren't saying that as far as i know, it's more about stories in the Bible that do not comport with reality.

Guys, is there anyway you can go on the Joe Rogan podcast and evangelize? He claims that if you reach out to him he will bring you on the show. He talks about our God in a manner that is not accurate, or at least you have addressed his questions at some point. But you guys could actually bring truth to his gigantic following. Please consider!!!

The young lady's question was such a good one - how can we decipher through our scattered thoughts to what really God is trying to tell us. I don't know if this is right or not, but I try to take my worry, humbly, to Christ in prayer and always remember the commandments, the pillars of common sense for life. To quiet the noise and open the inner ears to listen, it helps me to repeat the Lord's prayer.

Goodness is the foundation of reality. Yet evil is present in reality too. How can I make the statement, "goodness is the foundation of reality;" When there's evil and suffering present too?
I can make the statement because good is superior to what's bad in every imaginable way. There are two concepts of Good which need to be defined before I can proceed. That which is intrinsically good, meaning the goodness is in and of itself, the goodness of something intrinsically good depends on nothing outside of itself to be good. God is intrinsically good, and all that's good is an outflow of his goodness i.e. God is the source of all that's good.
The second concept of good, is that's what's extrinsically good. Meaning its goodness is dependent upon something outside of itself in order to be good. All created things can only be extrinsically good.
All created things have a purpose and when something operates within its design parameters, it's considered to be extrinsically good. When it's operating outside of its design parameters it's considered bad.
I'm systematically laying out Biblical concepts for you to understand, so that you can make sense of reality from a Biblical perspective.
God is the only intrinsic good in existence. Everything that's created is created because God ordained it, and everything created has a purpose. We don't always know the purpose but usually we do. Everything that's operating within design parameters is extrinsically good. That's why when God finished and rested the seventh day, God said, "the creation is good."
Initially after creation all of reality was operating within design parameters. I've purposefully haven't entered created sentience beings yet, but I will.
When I made the statement, "good is superior to what's bad in every imaginable way." I'm going explain why I'm so confident, so as to make the claim. When something is bad it's always a corruption of that which is good. For example, everyone's heard of the concept of a bad apple. It's impossible to have all bad apples, meaning you can't determine what's a bad apple unless, you understand what constitutes a good apple.
This sounds simple and it is. For what's good is superior to what's bad in that what's bad has to be a corruption of what's good. For good can and does exist independent of what's bad.
Now I'll introduce the concept of evil. Rock, matter and energy can't be evil nor can a rock experience evil. Evil always involves conscious sentient beings. It's in the concept of evil, where most of the issues arise concerning suffering. All humans were designed by God to unique individuals i.e. everyone is one of a kind. We were also created with free will. Free will is a necessity because love is our design parameter.
We were created to be in fellowship with God and with our neighbors. Created as unique one of a kind free will being, we can do what we want, when we want. As long as our motivation is love. conscious being makes cognitive choices every day. What determines the choice one will make, is dependent upon one's strongest desire. For example, I like cookies, but I feel like I'm getting fat. One of those desires will be stronger than the other and I'll make a choice.
Love, when that's the strongest desire. Love will be motivating our choices and when we're loving, we're operating within our design parameters and we're free to do whatever we want to do.
Evil is the inverse of love and it's because of evil that there's suffering in this present age. God created everything to be good. Freewill beings departed from the royal law i.e. the law of love. God who's intrinsically good, pulled back his goodness partially. We currently live in a shadow world of what's to come. We experience both good, bad and evil in this world.
God is love and love never dominates another, that's why God partially pulls back his presence. We all experience what's good, what's bad and evil from others. If we're honest with ourselves i.e. abiding in the truth. We'll admit that we're perpetrators of evil ourselves. The very thing we say we hate, evil, this we do to our fellow human beings.
God started the creation in a state of goodness, and he promises to bring it again into a state of goodness. The question is, will we cooperate with him? Or instead determine to be selfish beast, that want it our way at the expense of others.
God didn't leave us here floundering in our own shit show. God personally entered into his creation and lived a life that we can't live, and he willingly suffered for our behalf. So that some would decide to choose the good and shun the evil. For God is all knowing, and he intuitively knows what evil is. Whereas we're finite beings and we learn by experience.
Hopefully friend, all the pain, suffering and evil that you experienced, coupled with all the good you're experienced in this life. Will drive you into God's arms, for God loves all his creatures. He created you with a purpose. The purpose being that you would experience him as fully as you can for eternity and that you would coexist with likeminded people and enjoy them too. The bonds that will unite all, is love.
I hope this explanation helps you.
In conclusion, we're currently existing in a shadow world. Some will experience an eternity with God and receive his goodness. while other will spend an eternity separated from his blessing. God forces no one, for he won't dominate his creatures, those in Christ will be drawn to God, while those outside of Christ, will flee from the Holy One. For the unrepentant will hate being in his presence and God will grant them their desire.

@@andrewwright9960 Your point is valid, but and there's always a but, lol. a proper interpretation of the data requires one having a proper perspective.
Perhaps why you think it's impossible for a human to have a relationship with God, that starts from a book as you said.
Is because you think the book is all there is. Many Christians have had subjective experiences with God. I think you're expecting that there needs to be an objective experience.
I can understand why you would think this would be necessary. But I think your narrowing your perspective. For you think based upon your experience that most things in reality need to be objectively observed.
Yet some of the most important things in life aren't objective, rather their subjective. For instance, a mother's love towards a child. That love that child feels is subjective and it's real.
I also understand your concern and your reasoning, "why doesn't God objectively present himself."
I can't answer this question. I can state what conclusion that I've come to, and I believe it's reasonable.
We are finite beings, meaning there's much we don't know. We learn through experience. The Bible teaches that God created everything in a state of goodness. And in order to remain in that state. Humanity will, will by necessity need to line up with God's will. What is God's will? God is love and he created each and every one of us uniquely, with diverging interest i.e. likes and dislikes. He also created us to be free i.e. free to choose what we desire to do.
Every conscious choice you make is ultimately determined by your strongest desire amongst multiple other desires.
For instance, you desire a donut, it will taste good. Yet you feel like you're getting fat, but you're hungry. Whichever is the strongest desire, will win out and you will make a decision.
God desires that human's strongest desire will be the desire to love. To love him and all the other people in our sphere of influence.
Where am I going on with this? Love is and always will be a choice. In order for love to be genuine it can't be cohered.
The God of the Bible is an omni\all being. meaning omni and all are prefixes. For instance, God is all powerful or omnipotent.
Love doesn't dominate another, perhaps friend your viewing the data with the wrong perspective, thinking that God should relate to humans as humans relate to each other.
The Bible teaches that God took upon himself humanity and he did indeed dwell amongst us. But the Bible is full of incidents where humans met God in his unmitigated form and humans didn't react well.
I think the reason why God doesn't show himself, is that he desires for his creatures to make the choice to fallow him freely. That's my perspective on the matter.

I would love to have a sit down conversation with Cliffe about his view on the "variations" in the original manuscripts. A variation does NOT mean error, they don't even have the same definition, so you CAN'T use the words synonymously. And he's got such a sad, incorrect and faithless view of the difference between the pagan, Alexandrian perverted manuscripts, and the actual preserved original texts that were quoted from by the church fathers, so we know that John 8:1-11 and Mark 16 were in the original manuscripts, because they were quoted from in the first century, before 100AD.

Thank you for asking questions. I don't know the full answer but after watching a lot of videos I feel confident saying that evil comes from the free will of those who abuse the gifts that come from God. He is similarly responsible for the evil that man does unto themselves as a father is for the actions of his son. He can only guide so much before the free will of a man chooses what path he will go down. We are human, we get it wrong sometimes. But just because God created us, it doesn't mean that God created evil to act on us. @sudhakardubey6622 is right I think in that genesis talks about the origins of man and thus evil. I would watch more videos of cliff's to find out which ones and his thoughts as well. God bless you. :)

To my understanding no, God will allow bad things to happen but most bad things happen because of free will, some people use that free will for great things like feeding the poor, and others steel. There are bad things that happen outside of human control and I’m not going to pretend I know why, but God often will use these things to achieve good, but he doesn’t necessarily cause it to happen.

There are no contradictions in the Bible, and the Bible certainly doesn't contradict "science", because the Bible isn't a scientific book. However, honest science does back up what the Bible teaches. God has the ability to think, the mind is a very complex thing, he has the ability to create, another very complex thing. He couldn't have made his own mind or abilities. The 1st law is that the total amount of usable energy in a closed system is constant. So, as time goes on the amount of usable energy decreases and the amount of unusable energy increases. One day we are all gonna go into heat death and i think everyone has realized that. The Universe had to have a beginning because if we are in a closed system there is only so much energy in there, if the universe was eternal we would have ran out of energy a long time ago. Like if you had been driving your car for all of eternity then you wouldn’t have any gas right now. Same thing is true with the universe. So basically I have come to the conclusion after a little bit of research that the 1st and 2nd Laws of Thermodynamics show that the universe cant be eternal. So it had to have a beginning and a creator. I am by no means an expert on this.
Another question I have that completely hurts my brain is that if the universe is eternal/has an infinite timeline, How would we have gotten to this point in time? Because If there were an infinite number of days before today, this day would have never happened.

The Bible does not say that God doesn’t change his mind. It says that God does not change. He can change his mind. He allows Moses to bargain with him to spare the city of Sodom and Gamorra. if he could find such an such amount of righteous people in the city. Of course, he did not find such and such amount of righteous people in the city. The Bible also does not claim that God is all love. It Says God is love. It also Says God is just so that means he must punish Sin.

From the very beginning God had already decided to destroy the cities, no matter what. This shows us that we must accept God's judgement even when his decisions are not our desired choices, because in truth, Abrams didn't want to see the people in the cities perish. He had compassion for the wicked and did not want to see their destruction ultimately committed by their sins and wickedness. So if we take a different approach , rather than seeing it as a "bargain" it was actually more so, of a request. He requested that those cities be spared, and that request was denied. God, will sometimes say no to our requests. However, we can consider how he did answer Abrams request but in a different way. His family was spared (Lot and his daughters). Although Abrahams mediatory works didn't spare the cities, it did bring about the salvation of Abrams nephew Lot.

The test was to see how he would respond to the dire circumstance. If he had not done anything and just accepted his unfortunate life then he would have died. But because of his prayer, God intervened and aaved him. Here, it shows how Hezekiah changed his mind about God after seeing how gracious God was in extending his life 15 more years.

The foundations of gold, silver, and precious stones are of *_good intentions_* that glorifies the Father; it is by this that we are saved. However, the foundations of wood, hay, and stubble are of the world; these will be burned up and the man shall suffer loss, but he will be saved by the foundations of gold, silver, and precious stones that glorify the Father (1 Cor 3:12-15).

I do not wish to argue with anyone but I’m curious as to why the Bible states Adam and Eve are created by god and essentially are the predecessors to the human race but that entails it having anyone else for their children to procreate with meaning that the point in time we live in the human race would be horribly inbred and deformed . 2. What was gods purpose for creating the universe/life? And if the argument is that god had to have created everything because something can’t come from nothing but how did god do it? How did god come to be by following that same logic without a brain or nervous system, consciousness can’t exit and can’t be created if it doesn’t exist in the first place. I an avid atheist don’t think that you should stop believing but I do believe religion to be a great way to find solice and purpose in life and that’s great but I personally believe it’s a silly say to guide your beliefs and ideals. As for the hell. It is your choice if you wan't to follow God or not. If you choose to live seperate from God when you are living you will also live seperate from God forever (hell) . It is called hell because living without God and light forever is toture itself.
Somepeople even call it the dead of the soul since God gives you life and if you seperate from God it will be taken away too and it will be very painful since your soul would be burned in fire. That's why you would be forever in hell, eternaly gone from life and God.

Jesus himself verified the OT books are the Word of God and complete, which Ezra had compiled at that time and Jesus used (the same we use today). The book of Enoch was not included nor were the other non-Biblical scrolls. Jesus then commissioned his apostles to write the gospels and NT. The Bible is complete and as his favorite disciple, John (“who Jesus loved most of all”) wrote in the last verse of the the Bible: “If anyone adds to the words in this book, God will add to him the plagues which are written in this book; and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his part from the tree of life and from the holy city, which are written in this book.”
So yes, the Bible that we have today is complete. OT verified by Jesus himself and NT written by his commissioned apostles who personally knew Him or knew someone who closely knew Him.

You have a skewed, headline-skimmer view of God in the OT vs NT. The amount of time between each of God's "smiting" episodes in the OT is typically at least many decades, often centuries. If you were around at the time, you would be shaking your fist at the sky and asking "God, what are you WAITING for?"
      Meanwhile, in the NT:
      a) Jesus speaks far more harshly and at far greater length than the rest of the Bible combined about final judgment and eternal punishment.
      b) God smites Ananias and Saphira dead where they stand in Acts 5.
      c) By far, as Cliffe often points out, the most violent, bloodiest, smitingest book in the Bible is in the NT. Can you guess which one?
And there are many examples of God's mercy and tenderness in the OT -- read about Hosea and Gomer, Hagar and her son Ishmael, the saving of Lot and his family from Sodom in spite of themselves, giving the Canaanites 400 years to cut out their child sacrifice, temple prostitution, bestiality, etc.
There is no divide-and-conquer possible with God in the Old and New Testaments.

Yes, the good and the bad ultimately came from God, but he didn't committed any of them. The other free agents he created did bad, but bad or evil doesn't have a creative mechanism in them so God logically didn't have to create them, what do I mean?
When God made sex, it's for unity of a man and a woman so that they can become one flesh and create offsprings that will honor them and God. But people use the good gift of sex and corrupt it to a point of using it just for pleasure, or forcing someone to do it in grape. So yeah, evil cannot be created, it's just a corruption of good things that God created.

Y'all don't even believe in God. Why do y'all care to bring up God when it comes to kids having terminal illnesses?....
Is it REALLY the bald little sick babies that are keeping y'all from God? Because I doubt it.
I love my Protestant brothers, but unlike them I'm not afraid to say that God does what he does because he's God.
And so what if he does?
      So what??
      He's God.
"yEa bUt heS nOt gOoD tO MEE tHen!!"
      Ok??.... And?..
      Believe in him or don't.
If you're right neither of us will know when we die.
But if my Protestant brothers and I are right?......
But don't worry. It's not real anyway right?...

@@j_p_jr.487 it's up to US to stop that you cornball. It's embarrassing how much ppl who don't believe in God blame him for every bad thing that happens. Then try to use the evil that Humans create to tell believers "yOu sEe?! God dOesNt aCtuAllY caRe!!"
Believers know why God does what he does, or doesn't do what he doesn't. Non believers are the ones that want to be spoon fed everything and blame what, and Who, they dont even believe in when things aren't a utopian picturesque existence.

No . . . I did listen to what he said in this video.
I don't care what he said in any video other than what he said in this video.
And what he said in this video was -
      • Base your life on what you know is right.
      • And what's right is to know god.
But . . . I appreciate you taking the time to bring up how contradictive he is.

If it's my problem then why are you here.?
      You came to me.
Your problem is, you want me to focus on something you claim he said in another video, in order to disregard what he said in this video.
What he said in this video is exactly what he said in this video and your excuses on his behalf (for not being consistent) won't change that.
