    I think these are like a steal no matter how you look at it ..great price, value for money, great fuel economy, nice amenities, easy to work on / self service. Decent trunk space and everything you name it.. ..it's the perfect little SUV for road trips or whatever. .. the only thing I wished they'd done an AWD platform also.

    How’s the transmission on your vehicle been holding up? I’m looking at a Tucson which has the DCT, like yours, and I heard people saying not so good things about it

    • @asianguitarmasta
      @asianguitarmasta 4 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      The DCT drives just fine. The thing about it is that it behaves like a manual transmission and people aren't used to that. It slips the clutch during takeoffs, which some people mistake for hesitation. As long as you understand how the transmission works and you don't ride the brakes in stop and go traffic, it will be good to go. Having said that, the earlier 2016 models did have some issues with transmission logic programming, but Hyundai issued new software fixes and recalibration processes for those vehicles.

    • @asianguitarmasta
      @asianguitarmasta 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @tk taylor, I haven't noticed any rattling in mine, so I can't say. Have you taken it to the dealership if still under warranty?

    • @asianguitarmasta
      @asianguitarmasta 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @tk taylor, it should fall under powertrain warranty. Some Hyundai dealerships are sneaky and charge you a diagnostics fee upfront and reimburse you if the fault is found to be covered under the warranty. I wouldn't pay the fee personally. If they want to charge for something that should be covered under powertrain warranty, I'd tell them that I'm going to escalate it to Hyundai USA.

      I had a 2012 Tucson Limited that had 120,000 miles on it before it got creamed in an accident. My 2012 was in excellent condition and could have easily made it another 120,000 miles. In December of 2019, my Tucson was totaled out in a wreck on a rural highway accident. I now have the 2020 version of this guys Tucson which has everything except the sun roof. The sunroof would have added another 4,000 dollars to the car. The color of my Tucson is the exact same as this guys but I have 18” wheels and not 19” wheels. The transmission in my old 2012 was in excellent condition at its 110,000 mile check before it was demolished by another driver. As bad as the wreck was everyone walked away without injuries. (Three in my car counting me and one in the car we T-boned.) the other driver failed to yield to oncoming traffic (me) before turning left across the highway. Thankfully, his insurance helped me buy a new car.

Then you have to pull over if you lucky very dangerous. Took it to hyundai and they couldnt find the cause. DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT if you in the market for a reliable vehicle. Very poor service from dealership & pathetic vehicle. I ended up selling this as quick as can be & bought a German SUV BEST DECISION of a Lifetime!!!!!

    I have a 2017 full option Tucson. The only issue I have had from this car is at times it wouldn’t start after I have driven it for sometime to a nearby mall and after a bit of waiting for few mins, when I start the ignition the car is back on. Battery is just fine. Had taken it to the service centre and they said software update. But I still had this issue recently once again. Anyone else with the same problem?

      I have this kind of issue with honda accord where VSA light comes on on hot start sometimes, first, they told me to replace the sensor but had to take it back. After repair, It happened again but I drove about 2 miles which was a bad idea and it messed up. The car won't start like before it would after trying to start after some time. I took it back and they did software calibration or something. It's been fine but it kind gives me hiccups sometimes on a hot start
      I don't know what the hell is wrong with it

      My honest advice sell it while you can. You'll also notice resale & trade-in value very bad. I experienced bad service from dealership & continuous mechanical problems & software updates of which none helped fixed it from a brand new vehicle.
