    I watch a lot of reviews - I like your presentation - a good balance of information and detail and camera work is easy to watch too. Good job fellas! If I was to ask anything, it would be if you had access to the high spec model to just show the differences visually - just briefly, like in the headlamp set up etc. But you do cover it in your commentary. Keep up the great work :-)

    You've hit on a winning formula, consumers don't want to hear or see a journalist talking about what a car is like to drive. They want to see the vehicle from a first person perspective. If they like it they'll make an effort to drive it themselves.

    I really like the exterior design of the Tucson. It is sporty without being awkward or looking like it's trying too hard to stand out. The suspension is great and so is the steering. The car drives nicely weighted for its size and weight. I'm okay with the interior, but only on the top trims. hard plastics are way too abundant. What's kept me away have been the two engine/transmission available (both horrible) and the small trunk space. It's an SUV, so it really should be larger back there. The 2.4L seems like the engine that should be the upgrade on most trims. It's actually smooth, sufficiently powerful, but unfortunately not at all efficient. What ultimately does Hyundai in is their illogical trim packaging with way too many confusing trims that dictate which options come packed instead of letting customers choose what they want. For example, the SEL Plus has all the trimmings on the inside, but no available sunroof AND only the base engine. Meanwhile, the Sport comes at a higher price tag and with the nicer engine, but no upgrades on the inside. You can choose the even pricier Value trim and get the turbo engine and a panoramic sunroof, but you get bumped down to lower interior specs from the SEL Plus that's displayed 2 levels lower, but actually costs $250 more. Just too confusing and impossible to get the features you want unless you get them all (including a bunch you don't want) and then you can't get the 2.4. Frustrating.

      Hi, I also have the 2018 SEL Plus but I don't have the 4 button feature behind the shift lever, only the button to shift to sport mode and the hill descent control, but I am missing the other two. Did yours come with all four? Just curious. Two years into it and I'm still in love my SEL Plus!

    This was one of the 2nd SUVs I was interested in when I was searching for my very first SUV. Especially in this particular design. The only thing that made the Rav4 stand out for me over this is the fact that the Rav has a had brake over the foot operated one. Being a disabled guy, and needing driving aids, this was a big decision for the choice I made. But given the choice, I would have the Hyundai hands down.

    For some reason, when you show the side profile, all I can see is the Jaguar F Pace because of the rising window line as well as the slanted rear window. I’m not going to say if this is good or bad but I just wanted to point it out. Also, vaguely related, have you guys heard anything about Genesis vehicles coming to your Hyundai dealership?

    • @CarConfections
      @CarConfections  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We're really not sure if Gates Hyundai is a Genesis retailer or not. That said, if they are not, we will try to partner with one of our other Hyundai dealers to get access to them. The new G70 is gorgeous!!

    First of all thanks for your thorough review. The 2.0 in the SE is a little too slow for this segment, as in almost-Crosstrek slow, it does not compete well (Honda and Toyota would agree) but it is the viable cheapest option available out there. The 2.4 with the 6 speed auto should be the bread and butter among the whole range. The 7 speed DCT has been a downer in drive-ability, there are class action lawsuits, recalls and repairs galore, Hyundai should move away from this design, a move that was most likely done in the name of marketing ("Hey we have a DCT, like VW!") and improve on the autos and/or CVTs as most automakers have done. Me? I would like to see a 201 HP version of the 1.6 turbo with the 6-speed auto in the Sport Model and the highest trim...I mean, the 240 HP Kia Sportage SX 2.0 Turbo comes with a 6-speed auto tranny. The 1.6 turbo has been, as of late, detuned for new applications to 175 HP, as in the Kona, in the name of MPGs.

    I don't understand how does this SUV exist when the all new Santa Fe is in the same size segment as this Tucson??
    Please correct me if I am wrong.
    Hyundai small subcompact SUV is Kona.
    Then one size larger, the compact segment is the all new Santa Fe for 2019 (and so is this).
    And for 2019 the 3 row would be Santa Fe XL.
    So, how where does this Tucson fit?? Or is going to be wound up in 2019?

    • @brunobraga1601
      @brunobraga1601 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      this car is smaller and less complete than the Santa fe, so they are of different categories. In Brazil, the tucson is an midsize SUV, already the Santa Fe, big SUV.

    • @silentrefusal9911
      @silentrefusal9911 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bruno Freitas for 2019, there would be 2 versions of Santa Fe. A smaller one previously known as Santa Fe sport which would be now called Santa Fe and the large 3 row would be Santa Fe XL. So... Again I don't know where does this Tucson fit?

    • @brunobraga1601
      @brunobraga1601 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Silent Refusal Santa fe sport and XL has the same size, the only difference is the third row of seats on the XL, so the explanation remains the same

    • @brunobraga1601
      @brunobraga1601 6 ปีที่แล้ว
