I saw 3 of these at the Ford Dealership today, it was awesome. When I was leaving I saw a guy driving out of the Chevy dealership driving a 2010 Camaro SS and I gave him the finger.
yea, the sound and power, to be sure, is to be revered by many but too many are all about power and little refinement. its one thing to slap a supercharger on a small block and its another to make the car its self a fast handler. thats what i admire. sheer grunt will only get you so far. some rice burners have got it right, start off with great chassis then power. straight line, the max g's experienced are limited to what the rears can handle but through a corner, all four.
yea i have to agree with you for the most part about the rear end. from what it sounds like though, that plastic piece at the bottom may be removable. and if not.....well theres always the aftermarket!
ive heard of the ecoboost, not the etech but maybe it is the same thing. it should be making its way soon onto the streets in the lincoln mkz if im not mistaken. it will be put in many of ford's vehicles including (so far) the f-150, mustang, flex, taurus, and also the f-100 if they decide to take it to production
Lol, my 2004 GT even has traction control. I think they left it out on the v6 model but all of the GTs since 1999 have had traction control if i'm not mistaken.
my dad has 97 f250 with over 300,000 km, and half the mileage is on rough logging roads, and its never broken down, and the only rust on it is from the replacement bumper, from win he hit a deer
thats what concept cars are like the majority of time, they grab your attention, thats why their concept and show cars are usually one offs the production car isn't really far off from the showy concept, most aftermarket tuners can bring it even closer to the looks flashy orange paint job, carbon fiber hood, drop kit, bigger rims, bigger spoiler. you'll be able to get it some where at an extra cost hyundai went out and made a good car that will compare well with its competition
I didn't think there was anything wrong with previous gen. looks...I would rather see some power/displacement increase than new look...ALSO real looks like older gen Celica (taillights).
@juicyfitch13 surprisingly, for a RWD sports car they handle pretty decently in the snow, well up to 3-5 inches on the road surface in a manual transmission
That's true. Aftermarket can definitely fix that. But still, I cannot be happy about taking out the ferrari/lambo chrome side vents in the front. I loved those. Aftermarket can't fix that.
To Kingofomb Yes... I think it was with the 1983 T'Bird- Rounded corners etc... Love the T'bird till this day. [94-97] [85-86] When you buy a Mustang used you know it's been beat to the ground and abused. and usually some body damage proves it!! Still Glad Ford is giving it another go. Go Ford!!
You're right, my two fords have been far more reliable and have had way less problems than my other family cars, which include, infinity, acura and porsche 928, which had to be sold out since it broke down once a month, not mentioning the repair costs, and the fact I used to smoke it with my 92 gt. And my mustangs have had 0 issues. Just a coil, and the alternator changed on my 92 gt. and the alternator on my 96 gt.
Actually, the money you save over other pony cars, you could add on that new supercharger from Eldebrock that adds around 160 plus hp to put it up to 467-482hp with out the added wieght of the 5.4.
i heard they might make the upcoming 6.2 liter engine available for the mustang. I hope its true because the engine should make around 400hp, which would be awesome
How much does a supercharger run these days? A 2010 GT will retail about 26-30k. The Camaro SS will start at 30k, almost in line with the GT. So you would have to buy the base GT and have a $4000 SC, but that is dead even in price. Heck if you buy a GT with premium package that's 30k right there.
Just so that you're informed. Neither does 350z nor my dad's SUV. I've been talking about naturally aspirated engines just like the one that mustang has. Only those engines are MUCH, MUCH more efficient.
Well certain Shelby models get worked at his factory, I guess I was wrong about the GT500. Models like the Terlingua, hertz, and a few others get worked by Shelby. I couldn't Find the info on the 500 so I guess your right about that. They still cost a lot more then the Camaro counterparts will though. I still like stangs but they just cant handle like the f-bodies can.
increasing the displacement only helps to a point...a 5.0 v-8 will have too much displacement per cylinder, its gonna lower the redline, probly still boost the HP a bit, but theres better ways to do that
ok so there is a lot of controversy about the new 2010 mustang and all so why dont we have a little mustang poll. which do you guys think is better? 2009 mustang gt or 2010 mustang gt? this includes everything from looks, power (which is really not much difference), and anything else you want. put a reason why if you would like
performance isn't just about bhp, but also suspension tech and config, and also a light body, the mustang is litter than the other 2, but it haves a prehistorical rear suspension! I think the Camaro is the best of the 3, because of its refinement and sophistication, and still we are on the wait for a Camaro Z27 with the powerful LS7 or LS9 engines!
Yes, and what I'm saying is that you DON'T NEED a supercharger to make 400hp. If you knew alot of cars intensively, you'd know that. Audi RS4 has naturally aspirated 4.2L V8 engine that makes 420hp.
keep in mind that all comparison tests done of the with the mustang GT was with the track package. i'm looking for the specs on a mustang GT without the track package. and if they do make the times 4 tenths of a second slower that means they made the camaro times 4 tenths of a second slower too right. And no one has done the comparison test i want to see which is... What buys you a V8 stick shift of the 3 pony cars and give me every spec and statistic possible.
a baseline 1SS camaro is $30,995. and drifterzz89 the camaro uses a corvette LS3 not an escalade motor. camaro's have used corvette powertrains since the 3rd gen camaro's. why cause it works. and this video has finally given me the number i've been looking for. a base gt is .6 secs slower than a base ss in 0-60. and it is .7 secs slower in 1/4. and they handle the same if not the camaro handles better.
theyre called sequential tail lights. and they originated from the 60's gt500s and the 60's cougars. then fans wanted them so a few companys kept coming out with kits. i love it, i got it on mine. but its nice that Ford finally made it stock. its a great idea to make the mustang a more definative car and more noticable. and yeah, i hate the rear, looks kinds gay. but i cant wait for a saleen version
its 210 hp, 240 lbs-ft of torque. and yes the 2009 and 2010 are the same. i had a 2008 v6 mustang. it was the best horsepower for the price, but it was not the highest v6. pontiac g8 has a v6 around the 250's. hell, honda accord v6's had in the mid-high 200's.. however, it is a badass car
im planning on saving up for a GT premium 2010 stang. gorgeous gorgeous car. most of the problems have been solved tho i do not understand why they are not utilizing on the engines more. the stock V8 has less HP than most V6's now.anyways stil lawesome car. as far as the Camaro...rofl the extra horsepower is needed just to move the heavy frame...the camaro is way heavier than the Mustang and u can get the fog lights on the V6. its a 500 dollar add-on
I know, the price is crazy. there is such a huge jump from a GT to a GT500 so if you want a super car you are best to build a GT to match the hp without the price.
@Earl On a racecourse i agree with u, that TCR and ESP is better to be turned off. But on the road u do not want to slide, drift and surely dont want to slip off the street hitting trees, cars, walls, people et cetera. With ESP the damn car handles safe. I heard of a lot of mustangs running against stuff, cause the car drifted uncontrolable of the street. ESP will correct bad driving skills. I know how a bullitt handles when it rains and the road is wet. Even when TCR is running Its a crap.
you have to be korean to appreciate a korean car? the car looks good, its priced well and the engine options are good 306-310hp V6 depending on fuel 212hp 2.0 that is in the same engine family as the evo x and srt4 which gives it lots of potential best of all its RWD there is no disappointment there
No, small displacement cars can get over 100hp/litter. Any big displacement engine that makes over 100hp/liter is an exotic, and is sold in limited quantities. The Ford and GM's triumphs have always been placing considerable power within the grasp of the average joe. Let's see the other guys mass produce 315hp for multiple application. Ward's liked it so much they named it one of their top engines.
Trust me I have not forgotten about the GT500 or KR but they are at super prices too! the base GT500 comes at about 60 grand and a KR comes in anywhere from 80 to 110 grand. How many stang guys can afford that? All the while the Camaro V8 will make 400+ hp at Mustang GT prices. Thats what Ford should of focused on, Pick up the Power game because many people sitting on the fence will fall on Chevy's side because of that. I will never jump ship but it be nice to stay on a even playing feild.
im kind of disappointed in the base V6 especially compared to other v6's out there the base camaro is getting the 300ish hp V6 , id be happy with the base camaro over the gt mustang as a daily driver i doubt the Twin turbo V6 would ever be the base engine but it would be great to see in the mustang as an option
I guess it all depends on what your looking for in a muscle car and for the price. If you want really nice interior go for the mustang gt For styling, that's all really personal preference so you can really pick a top car in that category. For plain power and speed for the buck, obvoiusly the 6.1l camaro ss or the challanger has it right? Meh id still pick the gt and get the dealer installed supercharger for the same price as the base models of the other cars without the weight. My 2cts
I like the 2010 because of many stylistic reasons. the quarter panels now have the classic muscle car flare where it meets the quarter glass, the front has a new low profile and aggressive looking headlight/grill area and the hood looks bold and muscular but the rear end of the car just doesn't make sense. its sad the say for the most part it's a beautiful car but the awkward styling of the rear end really lost so points for me but over all I like it 4/5
Oh no, you don't understand. Whether Ford is targeting its market correctly or not, its 4.6L V8 engine ONLY MAKES a little over 300hp. Look at all the other cars. 350z makes same hp from 3.5L V6. Again, RS4 makes 420hp from 4.2L V8. Also... I did not mention this before, but redline? 6000.. 6000. I must say, my dad's Toyota SUV has higher redline. And that car also has about 270hp from 3.3L V6.
And I'm not German, in fact. I'm korean. South korean. I'm not biased towards any country that has a formiddable car industry. And I shouldn't really like Europeans because they always make fun of Korean cars, while many Americans appreciate it. But regardless, I make unbiased, technical opinions.
I'm not a fan of the gray rims or the tail lights. It seems like a lot of the car is modeled after the classic mustang, so they should throw some chrome on there.
I'm not sure whether 370z is in the same class, i don't think they do fight over the same customer. But when comparing Mustang to Camaro and Challenger don't forget Mustang is significantly ligher.
I have always loved mustangs, but as of right now, it looks like the upcoming camaro is a better performing car... hopefully Ford will come back with more power and a better suspension
I'm not sure what you're talking about. I can't find what I said about BMW 5 series before. But I would not compare 5 series with Mustang. Those are not even a comparison candidate.
That Chevy V6 is a great engine but the stang will probably be quicker with the 315 horse V8because the torque and willingness to rev will probably give it a .4 -.5sec advantage in the 1/4. I'm not gonna knock the Challanger , Camaro or Stang cause they are all great in thier own way so buy which ever one you want. Throw some money at em and you can make so much performance it wont matter.
I remember the one year the Mustang had only 215hp and the Camaro had 285hp, then 305hp. But then I think the Mustang went up to 265. But in the Mustang's defense, it has a smaller engine. You have to admit though this 4.6L Mustang is making more than the 225hp 5.0 from the foxbody era. I know what you mean by today's V6's. Nissan's 330hp 3.7L anyone?
I saw 3 of these at the Ford Dealership today, it was awesome. When I was leaving I saw a guy driving out of the Chevy dealership driving a 2010 Camaro SS and I gave him the finger.
i'm with you there I am so stoked about the 5.0 coming back.
It's all about coolness factor and the 05 and 2010 Stangs have tons of it. w00t!
yea, the sound and power, to be sure, is to be revered by many but too many are all about power and little refinement. its one thing to slap a supercharger on a small block and its another to make the car its self a fast handler. thats what i admire. sheer grunt will only get you so far. some rice burners have got it right, start off with great chassis then power. straight line, the max g's experienced are limited to what the rears can handle but through a corner, all four.
You're right, I was thinking of the L92. They're the same displacement and both use AFM.
i wonder what effect the Genesis coupe will have on the sales of the mustang,370z,camaro,challenger?
Ford is the only option for a person with freedom on their mind these days. And this is probably the best Mustang ever.
so im guessing that this is all before mods like turbo, cold air intake...etc?
yea i have to agree with you for the most part about the rear end. from what it sounds like though, that plastic piece at the bottom may be removable. and if not.....well theres always the aftermarket!
ive heard of the ecoboost, not the etech but maybe it is the same thing. it should be making its way soon onto the streets in the lincoln mkz if im not mistaken. it will be put in many of ford's vehicles including (so far) the f-150, mustang, flex, taurus, and also the f-100 if they decide to take it to production
Lol, my 2004 GT even has traction control. I think they left it out on the v6 model but all of the GTs since 1999 have had traction control if i'm not mistaken.
Is the Coyote a new version of the engine or a whole different car?
my dad has 97 f250 with over 300,000 km, and half the mileage is on rough logging roads, and its never broken down, and the only rust on it is from the replacement bumper, from win he hit a deer
thats what concept cars are like the majority of time, they grab your attention, thats why their concept and show cars are usually one offs

flashy orange paint job, carbon fiber hood, drop kit, bigger rims, bigger spoiler. you'll be able to get it some where at an extra cost
hyundai went out and made a good car that will compare well with its competition
i have a question? with tis new mustang gt can u take the advance trac off and do drifts and burnouts and dtuff like with the standard mustang gt?
I didn't think there was anything wrong with previous gen. looks...I would rather see some power/displacement increase than new look...ALSO real looks like older gen Celica (taillights).
@juicyfitch13 surprisingly, for a RWD sports car they handle pretty decently in the snow, well up to 3-5 inches on the road surface in a manual transmission
Did they drop the live rear axel or whatever its called?
That's true. Aftermarket can definitely fix that. But still, I cannot be happy about taking out the ferrari/lambo chrome side vents in the front. I loved those. Aftermarket can't fix that.
I love the Camaro, Mustang, and Challenger. I'm looking to buy one. Reply on which you think I should buy!
Seeing this video has only made me more impressed about this car!
Cause personally, i like it
the SRT8 pushes 425HP on a 4,300 body.
crap right? it reaches 0-60 sec in 5.5 secs.
pretty slow for that ammount of power
The Terlingua, the CS6,GT500KR and maybe are upgraded from base Mustangs or GTs at Shelby's facility..info taken from Shelby's homepage.
To Kingofomb
Yes...
I think it was with the 1983 T'Bird-
Rounded corners etc...
Love the T'bird till this day. [94-97] [85-86]
When you buy a Mustang used you know it's been beat to the ground and abused.
and usually some body damage proves it!!
Still Glad Ford is giving it another go.
Go Ford!!
That Stang is Bad Ass!!! I need one
Mustang looks cooler than the other cars.
Well, I won't be biased about this, but nobody can deny the undeniable depreciation.
what´s the song at the beginning of this vid?
does it have independent rear suspension?
The SS automatic uses an L99 which is a truck motor, only the 6spd version gets the LS3.
the L99 is based off the LS3 for the automatic the only difference is lower hp and torque and active fuel management.
You're right, my two fords have been far more reliable and have had way less problems than my other family cars, which include, infinity, acura and porsche 928, which had to be sold out since it broke down once a month, not mentioning the repair costs, and the fact I used to smoke it with my 92 gt. since when? so whats gonna happen to them? :O
Actually, the money you save over other pony cars, you could add on that new supercharger from Eldebrock that adds around 160 plus hp to put it up to 467-482hp with out the added wieght of the 5.4.
stick or auto for 2010 mustang??? i prefer stick but in the city it irritates me so much! maybe auto?:)
i heard they might make the upcoming 6.2 liter engine available for the mustang. I hope its true because the engine should make around 400hp, which would be awesome
Ford is the greatest ever...look at all the new cars, I like it.
agreed.all badass cars!
I like this desighn! Maybe i wrong but in other videos in mustangs its a little bit another body or something you know
How much does a supercharger run these days? A 2010 GT will retail about 26-30k. The Camaro SS will start at 30k, almost in line with the GT. So you would have to buy the base GT and have a $4000 SC, but that is dead even in price. Heck if you buy a GT with premium package that's 30k right there.
are you going to make it into KITT? I was planning to do that with my Mustang once I get it in 100000000 years xD
I don't like mustangs but this one actually looks pretty good !
Just so that you're informed. Neither does 350z nor my dad's SUV. I've been talking about naturally aspirated engines just like the one that mustang has. Only those engines are MUCH, MUCH more efficient.
u dont understand. in the sixties it was about going to a road course and seeing lap times it was about go to the track and seeing 1/4 mile times
Well certain Shelby models get worked at his factory, I guess I was wrong about the GT500. Models like the Terlingua, hertz, and a few others get worked by Shelby. I couldn't Find the info on the 500 so I guess your right about that. They still cost a lot more then the Camaro counterparts will though. increasing the displacement only helps to a point...a 5.0 v-8 will have too much displacement per cylinder, its gonna lower the redline, probly still boost the HP a bit, but theres better ways to do that
what about the black plastic is bugging you it looks fine to me.
cant wait to see Carrel Shelby's version of this bad boy. I went quail hunting with his grand son in texas. what a blast
I'm getting a mustang when I grow up. I don't care what people will think.
ok so there is a lot of controversy about the new 2010 mustang and all so why dont we have a little mustang poll.
which do you guys think is better? 2009 mustang gt or 2010 mustang gt? this includes everything from looks, power (which is really not much difference), and anything else you want. put a reason why if you would like

Boss 5.0 motor coming in 2011 boys (finishing testing now).
I think the wide open grille looked better. The new aero front end looks just like the new Challenger.

i agree. i wish chrysler would have focused more on performance and making it smaller than a large luxury car feel.
you have to be korean to appreciate a korean car?
the car looks good, its priced well and the engine options are good
306-310hp V6 depending on fuel
212hp 2.0 that is in the same engine family as the evo x and srt4 which gives it lots of potential
best of all its RWD
there is no disappointment there
No, small displacement cars can get over 100hp/litter.
I bet the weight does the camaro in. It's gotten away from its lightweight sports heritage. How can 3800lbs be nimble?
no dude. but it only has 315 hp so you cant really go that fast that quickly for you to notice. the traction control makes up for it.
how so?
how much TQ does the imaginary V6 Camaro make?
"...that retro cool" lol. Awesome Mustang.
Man their video quality is much better now lol
just wait until the boss 6.2 engine comes out, which is rated at over 400hp
Bring back the Mercury Cougar! Bring it back old school style. Please Ford.
Trust me I have not forgotten about the GT500 or KR but they are at super prices too! the base GT500 comes at about 60 grand and a KR comes in anywhere from 80 to 110 grand. Well I just hope the next 5.0's have at least more than 2 valves, then they will be powerful engines tough.
im kind of disappointed in the base V6 especially compared to other v6's out there
the base camaro is getting the 300ish hp V6 , id be happy with the base camaro over the gt mustang as a daily driver
i doubt the Twin turbo V6 would ever be the base engine but it would be great to see in the mustang as an option
i misphrased that i meant my 95 cobra(modded) can keep up with a brandnew stock 09-2010 mustang gt
I got my 92 mustang gt with a super chip to go 145, I slowed down because it was starting to get scary haha
Both are good cars, just comparing them is like comparing apples and oranges :).
the same numbers they got with the 03 mach 1
I heard Chrysler and General Motors were going to merge because Chevy wanted a Hemi in the Camaro just to be in the same class as Mustang !
I guess it all depends on what your looking for in a muscle car and for the price.
If you want really nice interior go for the mustang gt
For styling, that's all really personal preference so you can really pick a top car in that category.
For plain power and speed for the buck, obvoiusly the 6.1l camaro ss or the challanger has it right? Meh id still pick the gt and get the dealer installed supercharger for the same price as the base models of the other cars without the weight. My 2cts

I WANT ONE SO BAD!!
This might be my first car. I'm a freshman in high school! =]]
the 95 sc TBIRD was the one to get 230hp and 330tq!

i love the front of the car! 5/5

BMW M3 @ 0:18???

I remember the one year the Mustang had only 215hp and the Camaro had 285hp, then 305hp. But then I think the Mustang went up to 265. But in the Mustang's defense, it has a smaller engine. You have to admit though this 4.6L Mustang is making more than the 225hp 5.0 from the foxbody era.
I know what you mean by today's V6's. Nissan's 330hp 3.7L anyone?
