- Professional Monkey Loves @hondamotorcycles ? Yes! I am a @harleydavidson lover through and through, but there are a lot of non-Harleys I really like. Mrs. Monkey and I are child free this weekend so we figured let’s go look at metric motorcycles and see which ones we liked and would actually buy in a different life!

Thank you guys for not bashing the Can-Am Spyders. It has a 1330 Rotax engine. I noticed Mrs. Monkey was checking out the Sea-to-Sky Edition. That is what I have (2021) and they are great. It has assisted power steering. It does take some getting used to. I've had 2 hip replacements, knee replacement. From a work explosion, a steel rod in my right leg and 3rd degree burns on my left leg, arm and chest. It gets me in the wind!
I still own the 93 Goldwing my Dad left me and a 2005 shadow spirit. They are mostly bulletproof and easy to work on and honestly the Goldwing could pull my Harly on the trailer and still ride both me and the misses whole doing it. Harley lover but have felt like they have been overpriced yuppie mobiles for years. My gosh they have a Harley Davidson cruise every year. Keep riding and helping us shade tree , live your channel.
I’ve done the same. Even was very close to leaving Harley and buying a Victory in 2017. Man I’m glad I didn’t do that🥳.
And even though most HD dealers annoy me to no end, I just can’t change. I like my RG.
Hey Monkey, I went with a Can Am Spyder. Yes to everything you said, we do 500 mile days, so comfort and amenities spot on. Handling is not an issue. I can carve twisties the same as I did on my Victory.
Love your videos. Keep on keepin on.
The boat "Switch" looks like side by side version of a jet ski. ✌️
The Suzuki M109R BOSS is the Blacked Out Suzuki Special. It means the bike is blacked out. I have the red 2023 M109. I am really happy with the bike and I am looking forward to going on some more rides here in Oklahoma.
Those Trail 125's are hard to find actually. And youre right, they make a ton of accessories for them and theyre rock solid. They represent their heritage well.
I'm a enthusiast 1st. For me, it's ok to admire and appreciate all bikes. Like you said, you do you. Theres a million reasons to ride and thankfully many choices to fit our needs. My garage has a 2014 Road King, his n hers 2022 Vespa 300's, and a 21 Rebel 300. No question, the RK is the most amazing machine, but I love my Vespa around the suburbs here. Just enjoy the ride, look out for all riders even if they're different from you, and support motorcycling!!
I knew as soon as you said Honda you would find the Monkey, they are neat little bikes!
Lookin good Mrs! I rode a Busa for 4 years. Had an 04 and loved it. Decided at 55 my reactions times weren't near fast enough for one of those. I mean I didn't do it often but if you have something that will do what they will do you want to turn them loose now and then, lol. Slowed my butt down a bit with a Street Glide in 10. Now it's Road Glides Forever!
Great video. My first non sports bike was a Honda Silverwing. Ran forever. Also just bought two Honda CRF250L’s for my twins to learn to street ride before moving up to HD. Also, HD doesn’t make ATV’s which I use Honda again for. Nothing wrong using the metric bikes…
Nice change of pace. I really enjoyed your trip to a non-Harley dealer. Once a year would be nice.
My first bike was a 78 Honda Hawk. I rode the rims off that bike, and the guy I sold it to, rode the rims off. Just would not die.
Great idea for a time killer.....I ride a Boulevard C109rt but just "like bike" no matter the brand. Good to see and hear yalls input outside of your usual area of your (shall I say) expertise, lol!
Mrs. Monkey is awesome as usual.....had me rolling with the hair comment 😂
Grew up riding Kawasaki dirt bikes. My first street bike was a Vulcan Classic. Kawasaki will always be my first, best love!
It's insane how well a spyder handles you should test ride once it's crazy
Buy the boat thing , doesn't everyone in Florida own a boat , we Canadians all live in igloos , ha ha , thanks for the tour ,
There are definitely some gems being made by almost every manufacturer these days. There truly is something for everyone out there so no excuses ......... GET OUT AND RIDE!!
Great vid nothing wrong with metric bikes rode Honda's bikes three wheelers, four wheelers, first street bike was a shadow 1100 rode to Sturgis many times i now ride a Harley breakout and i can't go back, but still love all brands
I rode Japanese bikes for 15 years and then I rode Harleys for 18 years.
To be honest the direction that Harley has taken since 2017 has been slowly pushing me back to Japanese bikes. Every year since 2017 Harley has been coming out with less and less that I like and increasing the prices more rapidly than they've ever done before.
Harley have literally made more change in the past 5 years than the previous 50….
Whoever told you the Spyders don’t handle great must have either not know what they were doing or never actually rode one. Ibises to have a Spyder RT-L which was fully loaded, self leveling rear air suspension and it handled like a dream. A lot better than the old Harley Tri-Glides. Now the new HD trikes handle pretty similarly to the Spyder
5 years ago, I bought a 2007 Ultra Classic with 47k miles for $7700. During the 24k I rode it, I put a compensator and a voltage regulator on it. Got $6600 in trade for it. Money well spent, and I got the Harley Ultra I wanted.
My first street bike was a 1978 CB750K I bought new. 20 years later I got a '98 Valkyrie. I still have both, they're like old friends. The 750 and I even got arrested together. It got impounded and do did I.
At the end of the day you and Mrs. Monkey better pray for forgiveness from the HD gods.😂
that was fun guys thanks for taking us along . and the chopper is my choice too . have fun !
Bodean windshield LMAO that shit never gets old 🤣
I have driven a slingshot and love it. but it is for sure not a motorcycle and shouldn't be in the same category in peoples mind. I really want one though for me and the mrs to run around on instead of taking the car or truck.
I think I’m going to get another Suzuki Dr 650 this winter. I have had a 650 Dual Sport of one brand or another for over20 years. Last fall I sold my BMW 650 DS and I miss it. The Dr650 is a very good do all bike that is super simple to maintain. From trail riding to errand running it can’t be beat. I’m keeping my three Harleys and my BMW 1200 GSA. They all fill a place in my motorcycle needs.
I had a Vulcan 900 Classic (basically the LT without the windshield or bags)... it's still a 5 speed. Upgraded to a Sportster 1200. The Kawi is liquid cooled, but neither are terribly happy at highway speeds. The Vulcan screams above 70mph.
A great series with the KLR 650… Billmaa, on TH-cam. He is unfortunately no longer with us but he and a friend rode KLRs from Nebraska to Prudhoe Bay Alaska and back. Truly a must watch series, very binge able. Check it out.
Thank you. Slingshot is definitely not part of the motorcycle world. The steering wheel debunks any argument that would suggest it is.
Honda VTX models and Magna's were some of the best Honda ever offered. Miss my VTX but cannot go back from my Ultra to that. Would have to have both. The VTX was a bad ass light to light bike.
You and the wife need matching Goldwings.
😮😂
I have the exact same seadoo switch, 42 mph 13 foot boat is a blast
I see you buying a Slingshot in the near future! You're obsessed!🤣
I like the one you were sitting on the price was right too
Glad you guys have an open mind. I am personally running an ultra but I've had my eye on those klr650's. I think they are a great dual purpose motorcycle.
So much fun!
I love my ultra but I commute on my goldwing. My 30 year old goldwing makes a much better bike for my little over an hour commute to work (sadly all highway). It’s cheaper to service it gets better fuel economy and it’s more comfortable. I will never get rid of my Harley but I will always have a goldwing in the stable.
I could see you riding the Honda Trail 125 with a keg strapped to the back rack.
I own and have owned all kinds of bikes I like diversity and I love my Harley don't get me wrong but when I motorcycle camp or trail ride these different bikes open up a whole new experience and culture in motorcycling why not have ot all? 🍻
Hahaha. I own 3 Harley’s and I had to purchase the trail ct125. Love that bike.
I really like the Honda Monkey....just a retro of my old trails 70
I owned a Can Am RT-L (2022) for 50 weeks and 14440 miles and it was the biggest POS I ever owned I took a massive loss when I traded it on my Street Glide. Handling was crap/ mpg was 31 at best/ it accelerated slow as $h!t and top speed was limited to 105 MPH. I could not wait to get back on a Harley.
You went back to 2 wheels? Good for you.
Enjoyed this video as I do all but it was nice seeing you and Mrs. Monkey out together even if it was looking at metric. Just kidding!!!! Metric good!!
I'll never forgive Polaris for what they'd, end up doing with Victory Motorcycle company after buying Indian motorcycle. Polaris was supposed, to keep making parts for Victory motorcycles until 2027. Because they closed the Victory company down in 2017,and they were supposed to keep making parts for 10 years. They'd actually already stopped by 2019.
The best part was " IT HAS HANDLEBARS!" Ride the chopper at Sturgis, Brother. I was ridin' rigid in my teens and twenties. Had back surgery at 19 because of it but, it was worth it. At 67, I still have a rigid Ironhead 1000 that I built a few years ago. Honestly though, I ride my Heritage the most. The bones just ain't what they used to be. Ride safe, you guys. And have fun at Sturgis. Never had the bread to make that trip. Sounds like a blast. Maybe, some day.
The Harley guy talking about price of a sxs 😂
More Mrs Monkey content!!! She’s a riot! Also I’m trademonkey’ing her beer sled idea!!!
Gasp! The black and gold 'busa 🤤 Only thing is, if I can go 210mph, I would. Not good for my life expectancy. That is why Imma get a black and gold Grom 😂
Appreciate that even though you and Ms. Monkey are Harley folks you can be honest about other bikes. A cool bike is cool no matter the brand. My Guzzi V7 850 sits next to my Low Rider ST, both awesome in their own right. Greetings from North Dakota.
My first big bike was a Honda VTX 1800 very dependable bike and after it I bought a 2016 HD SGS and never looked back now i am on Harley number 4 , the only way you can break the KLR is run it without engine oil it’s a good bike
I agree the Slingshot is not a motorcycle. However in certain states, if it does not have 4 or more wheels, it is legally a motorcycle, for example, Ohio. In Ohio if you have had you motorcycle license less than a year you are concidered a novice rider, and required to wear a helmet. If you are driving the Slingshot and have you livense for less than a year, you have to wear a helmet while drive what is essentially a 3 wheel car.
I just traded my FLTRK for a Goldwing. Kinda weird, but fun.
I had a guy tell me if I put my old lady in a slingshot she'd never get on the back of my road glide again
Hello Monkeys. Lookin gooood. Yesturday i had 2b12 up handelbars put on thike and while we where at it install heated grips. Had to cut off the left one anyway. Bought some hiway pegs. The dk tank lift cit came and i already have the tour box relocator hw. I also boughtthe swing out crome armrests w drink holder.
Enjoyed this one! Great content!
Awesome review, we will see ya in Sturgis
I bought my first cruiser 2004 Vulcan 1500 Classic and my 2014 Vulcan Vaquero 1700 from Broward Motorsport. I still have the Vaquero but love my 21 Road Glide.
I was looking at the Kawi Voyager when I found a great deal on my first Harley, Ultra Classic. A year later, I traded it in and up to a 2021 UL. I love my Harley, but I also enjoy metric bikes as well.
That was your chance to snap a pick and say "you meet the worst people on a Honda" as Shadetree Surgeon says lol.
You would not believe the tech in the rotex engine they make light aircraft engines at the same plant check out how the aircraft engines are ran two places idle and wide open and they are built to last for 2000 hrs that would be a shitload of miles
that was a missed opportunity...someone could have chloroformed Monkey , set him in the Slingshot and took pictures..😁. i read with the spyders you have to steer with your butt. i do and dont get that. i think Honda stopped making the Silverwing tbh. not sure about now days but the Goldwings was made in the USA so it is technically an American bike..and now days i seriously doubt you can find any bike that is made completely in just one country. i love places that have a lot of used and new bikes. i can spend hours looking at them lol. i love the smell of new bikes in a dealership...its awesome. ohh you seen those bagger kits for the Monkey right? lol those are awesome lol. good vid
BOSS is supposed to mean "blacked out suzuki special"
Looks like Dixon flannel the seat lol on that mini bike
If you ever want to try how a spyder handles, you are welcome to come by and take mine out for a spin. Still stock (except for the lighting). 😏
Would love to see you test review Japanese bikes....why not?
Are you guys giving us options to get us by until Harley goes unwoke? 😂
My wife and I went there and I’m sorry but I’m to buy a trike from Palm Beach Harley.
I live in Wellington, so I go to that dealership. Those prices are not even close to what it costs to buy them there!!! The tax alone on a $10,000 bike here in Palm Beach County will add $750. Plus the dealershipand freight fees. My son races supermoto and BMX and we are looking at motocross. He wants to race that. The $5500 motocross bike is around $7000 out the door. Without really sitting down and doing serious numbers. It will probably be less when we are ready to buy. At least they do have the price tags on the bikes, unlike Palm Beach Harley and other Harley dealerships. Mystery prices. The used bikes have them. I test rode the Fat Bob and the new Sportster S recently. I was approved for both with no money down. They sweetened the deal with free tires, tunes, slip on exhaust. Everything had to be California compliant. I excused myself and went into the restroom and threw up. I liked the Sportster S. It was a Power Cruiser. My XR1200 handles and brakes better. I ended up buying a KTM at WMR on consignment. It was a fantastic deal. A month or so before Christmas and saved around $6000 by not buying the S. Plus it way faster and lighter. Actually the XR1200 and the KTM890 DukeR race against each other in the Super Hooligan Road Racing Class.
Grew up on Kawasaki, know riding Harley nothing cooler then the Harley springer
I added a 2023 kawasaki klr 650 s to my bike stall ,adventure bike ,it's a blast. Nothing can replace my trusty 01 roadking though. The new s model is shorter ,I got the pearl gray one. I got mine last month on sale for 5899.00
Dude you can get a basic spider for less than ten grand out the door 🚪 it's like the first new motorcycle I've been thinking of buying f o r years.
I want a monkey bike!
I had two Gold Wings. Great motorcycles. You never have to work on them. They are superior in many ways. I went back to Harley because the Gold Wings were too boring. What good is having a bike if you never work on them? I love my Road Glide. Harleys are just Harleys. There is no substitute in my opinion.
Great vid again, unless your camera isn't picking up colours that wasn't British Racing Green, cool things though
I have a few Harleys, But I also have a DR650 for the roads less traveled.
Big G'day Mr & Mrs Monkey from Down Under 🇦🇺
Shadetree Surgeon would love this
Living The F🤪KING Dream ❗
Safe travels 🙏♥️🐾🐾🇦🇺
My buddy just bought the honda street glide knock off thing, he is a big dirtbike, four wheeler guy and honda is his vehicle of choice.....its actually a really cool bike. Wouldn't trade my harleys for one, but i definitely get the appeal.
my wife has a Can Am Ryker 900, i taught her to ride on a Rebel 250, i went to the local Harley dealer for parts for my 18 Ultra Classic, i ended up riding a 2020 sportster home. the Sportster scared her, she traded it in for a Can Am Ryker, she love it and it fully automatic and whatever brake you hit works them all. she is happy and i am relieved that i dont have to worry about her falling over. (on a side note, i piissed her off by doing doughnuts on her Ryker in he back yard.)
Good video, enjoyed it. 🤟
Can that seat be bought on the Flannel Channel?
I really wish kawasaki would remake the Vulcan 2000. Lost mine in hurricane Ida. I have a roadglide, but I'd get a second bike for the right deal on a Vulcan 2000.
Sling shot is a autocycle. In some states they are considered a motorcycle.
V Star is a really good bike, if I didn’t have my Harley’s I wouldn’t be mad having a V Star
Cool video, keep um coming
those E-bike fit into the "pit bike" catagory IMO...
Right?
What size and kind of apes you have on the Mrs CVO
14" Carlini
Slingshot, no, no, no. no, ha!
Some cool inventory 😎
I have a Vulcan 900, I want to get off and push it.
Run over to tractor supply and pick up a coleman mini bike. Around $600ish, will fit in the truck, and can be modified to do 50+…
My second bike is a 1983 Kawasaki KZ1100. I like them all.
typing as i watch,Harbor Freight is an awesome place, just buy their electric tools with a grain of flammable salt...
Are you tempting me to buying you a "You meet the worst people on a Honda"shirt from @shadetreesurgeon?
I noticed the CT125 has no pillion foot pegs.
I visit the rice burner dealer twice a year for state inspection. In and out in 20 mins compared to an hour at HD. They always try to make me trade in my wife's Spyder RTS but if I come home with something else then her Bumblebee, I get tared and feathered and hung up on my balls drag through town🤣
Their retail is ... interesting but not my cup of tea .
Funny video with the Mrs, thanks for sharing.
Ride safe 🤙
Cannon spiders are not bad vehicles. They have A1330 road Tech motor if you Tweak them right They can get about 230 horsepower. They do write a lot better than a hardly trike. I have rode over 12 States It was very comfortable. But I don't take anything away from Harley. They are great motorcycles. PS. Thanks for sharing this video with us.
I agree, had one for a few years trying to get my wife to ride beside me. Great 3-wheel adventures on it. Only sold to make room in garage for more HD
@@bellyslide793 Pretty awesome. Thanks for responding. Even if the world came to an end. harleys would still be around over any other bike. In my opinion.
You went to look at a S- 6 1000cc or wharever Right?
From a aspiring monkey to a full fledged monkey. How about how stuff fits more full sized monkey stuff? I know you struggle with this and I can’t find a coooool helmet that fits me!
Yes I own 2 HD,s and a Yamaha MT07
Better off with a Yamaha TW 200
