  • How to get your ass kicked by a motorcycle club... again! YOU DON'T SPEAK FOR THEM. I got an e-mail from a guy recently, and he was partly right, but then again totally wrong. The issue is, he had no right to bring it up at all. Don't be this guy, but also stay within the lines.

On two wheels, three wheels, four wheels, or more, or none there is no place for criminals in this country. As a rider with over 50 years I got along with law abiding citizens who also rode, no tolerance for A Holes. The poster of this video does exactly what he claims will get others beat up in his video. He also clearly advocates violence against youtube rules. As a civilian you have the right to self defense, and don't have to take scat from anyone, at the very least report to LE, and press charges if harassed for any reason.

Good information and advice! I spent years riding in SoCal and was always respectful of Club members, so I had no problems. Once at a MC show, a member, while part of a large group, accidentally bumped into my Wife and was so apologetic, it actually shocked her. Know the rules of respect and stay in your own lane. Sorry I missed "Smokeout", though I live 30 minutes away, but The Big Dog is down and I was out of town.

THANK YOU for this! Just a few weeks ago I had some guy try to speak for me, put words in my mouth, without any communication with me. Yeah, he rides a bike, but he is not part of us, and had zero business piping up on my behalf, or standing in unwelcomed for any of the others. He got shut down pretty quick. I actually had to diffuse the situation, because there were a lot of people really choked at him. Rookie mistake I guess, maybe just something people don't think about too much until they flubb up?

It’s amazing to me that this stuff even needs to be discussed. I guess someone might find it just interesting as a topic, I do. But I mean that for there to be people who would be ignorant enough to do any of the things that would get them in trouble with a club and they actually need an instructional video explaining how not to get beat up by a motorcycle club is amazing. I imagine that’s not the only social situation they routinely mess up. Must not understand the concept of respect or courtesy just generally, let alone when having an interaction with a group who places a high value on it.

Regular members should refer all questions to the club's designated spokesperson or leadership. Same way the military doesn't let regular members speak on the service's behalf.
As a veteran group member I'm sure you've heard the stories about Private Joe Schmoe talking to the press and getting tore up by his commander for doing so because he "He was not the designated spokesperson." I think a club might be more emphatic in showing their disapproval of a member saying things and "putting words in the club's mouth."

This doesn't just apply to MCs, it applies to everyone. Whether you're a biker, banker, baker, astronaut or a nanny who's studying to become a banker, it is never ok to make someone the subject of a shot that you intend to make public without their express permission, especially if those images will be monetized. That's what model releases are for. Difference is, I'm sure the MC would take it in stride and assist you in correcting the matter and the Nanny would stomp you. As for people who wander through a shot that isn't focused on them, well, there are other people on the planet.

It is the culture people think they can video anyone they want without permission. In my humble opinion they should have helped him do a full factory reset. Let him lose all his data. You should do a video on social media rules and responses for clubs and everyday riders. I have been in situations where my instincts told me what to do but I maintained discipline. All I can say is I know what a cat feels like chasing a laser dot it will never catch. I almost blew a blood vessel in my head.

I understand a person's desire not to be filmed in public, but is privacy even possible in todays world?
I hate being on video or photographed by individuals unknown, but I accept I cannot prevent it .
To be clear, we are being videoed almost constantly from the time we leave our houses until we return once again.
Some may disagree, but there are cameras watching you at traffic intersections, highways, banks, retail stores, post offices, hospitals, Doctor offices, day cares, malls, schools, bars, auto dealerships, restaurants, home security , "Ring" doorbell cameras etc etc etc. Sadly, there is no guarantee of privacy once you leave your home, and I'm not so sure you can truly feel secure in your home. Many overlook our phones are GPS tracked and our location is constantly recorded. The devices we use in our homes as personal assistants (re: Alexa/ Smart TV's) listen to your every word waiting for a keyword to incur a response. Do said devices share your personal information with advertisers, marketers government etc etc? The daily "Fool" is easy to spot as they gather pictures for social media and TH-cam, but were still being watched regardless.

(It's a damn bike rally). This genius got the idea to mouth off and the member told him to keep moving. He later drove said good cart passed their camp site and flipped off said club member. I don't know what happened but the guy ended up in the hospital and his car was flat the next morning. It looked like it was in a car crusher at a junkyard. Nobody can figure out what happened or how. The moral of the story... If a 1% tells you to leave... Make dust and catch wind.

Here's a situation that happened while in sturgisthis year. Me and my ol lady were at the full throttle, in the main bar. Just inside the main bar. Up on the walls all are motorcycles. My ol lady t99k pictures with her cell phone of a couple., I didn't even realize she was doing this at first. About the time I looked over at her and noticed she was taking pictures of some bikes on the wall, I noticed the boat tail superglide just over her shoulder. I said to her, " hey there is one of those boattail superglides I was talking about yesterday ". So she turned around and took a picture. Bye the time she was taking a pic, my attention was elsewhere. Next thing I know a 1%er os right in her face (because it was loud in the bar), telling her to not be taking pictures of them. I looked over and seen a table with 5-6 members around it. All from a very old 1% club most of us are aware of. She told him she wasn't taking g pictures of them, "she wasnt taking pictures of the bikes". He kinda looked her in the eyed briefly. He looked over and made eye contact with me, then went back to his table.
Had I realized they were sitting there, I would have told my ol lady to put her camera away but, I hadn't seen them. My ol lady was aggravated and thought the dude was a dick because it was obvious she was taking pictures of bikes that were way above anyone and not trying g to take pictures of them. So I had to explain to her that they don't want a camera of any kind in any direction anywhere near them. Above them or not, they do t want to accidentally or purposely be in a picture. On top of that, the dude was probably told to go say something to her be one of his brothers and was just wanting to go back to his table. 3rd, yeah he was talking to her but, he was really talking to me. That was obvious by the way he was facing her talking while looking at me with his eyes.

Yeah, that's over the top I agree. They weren't the subject so why worry about it. They are getting more touchy about it since some of the are losing their jobs once an employer finds out.

Personal opinion only , I’m not a biker but , if they are doing their jobs, there employer needs to stay out of there personal lives . What they do in there off time, short of a felony is no one’s business but theirs.

I saw a similar event take place in Las Vegas. In one of the better known buffets there was a table of gentlemen who appeared as if they just walked off the set of Goodfellas. Stereotypical mafia looking dudes. There was a young Asian tourist couple sitting a couple tables over, taking pics and videos of the awesome, newly renovated Caesar's Palace buffet. One of the young muscle looking guys from the table of "mobsters" went over to the young couple and asked them what the fuck they were doing. Scared the shit out of this innocent young man and woman who had no idea what this dude was talking about. They barely spoke English! They were trying to explain they were just taking vacation photos when the dude realized the whole buffet was looking at him and went back and sat down. I thought for sure we were going to see someone get whacked.

Common sense. you either have it, or you're gonna get talked to about it. If I'm invited to a club event, I show up, talk to the members I know, talk to the members I don't know when they talk to me. whipping out the phone to video or snap pics of people you dont know is something you should already know not to do. in todays society its a rude habit that maybe some folks need to be straightened out on.

When I lived on Okinawa I became friends, just friends, of the members of the local dominant big 3 1% Club. I witnessed a lot of just pure fuckery.
A funny one was a group of Japanese guys and a girl had the crazy idea that they were going to come to Okinawa, wine, dine and otherwise buy their way into said Club. That was a very fun night. At the Club Bar the group was taking photos and having a good time. I did see a member tell them not to take a photos of the flag with their patches hanging on the wall. At some point it was time for me to go home. I heard things got pretty wild and the Japanese folks got sent home dazed, confused and light in the wallet. What I wouldn’t of paid to be a fly on the wall.

    Hi da Monk.
The club would I guess have dedicated spokesman or even a press and media type person.
So as this other person has an ADIDAS t shirt so he supports them 2nfoes that mean they in their own opinion will be doing the new adverts ?
I bet that person who was above their status, drinks bud light, just saying.

Why would anybody think either of those is something you should do? Too many people are living through screens and keyboards and forget that in the real world you can still get your face smashed if you cross the wrong dude. It doesn't matter if it's a motorcycle club or Sam's Club, if it's not your business, don't get into it.
