    You should connect a battery charger/tender to the car when doing stuff like this!
    As a car running out of battery when loading software is never a good thing and might even brick the ECM or other modules that the software is being loaded too.

    For the rivalry, need to do 0-60, 60-0, slalom , then a 1/8 mile drag. Lets see the best all around, i think that c-30 will give that V-70R a good run for its money.

    The suspension should be seriously modified before even bothering to tangle with the Type R. Springs, rear sway bar, the Elevate rear strut brace and massive speed rear camber arms really wakes the car up.

    LOVE my C30....it's a 2008, 134000 miles and runs like a top!!! I hated it when i first got it because it wasn't a stick but it grew on me after about 4 years....now i won't get rid of it until it gets rid of me!

    Nice work fellas. I had the same reaction when I first loaded my Elevate tune on my stock C30. Car should've come from the factory like that! The increase in throttle response was night and day for me.

  • @romanvejar5985

    My experience with Elevate tune is phenomenal..... went from being a semi quick 4 door s40 to a whole different car. Power comes on hard at 3k and just pulls lol plus tune adapts pretty well to any other mods done. Only issue I had was factory CBV wasnt enough to keep up with higher boost and aggressive shifting it would fall off and seemed to stay open if I shifted a lil to quick haha.

    • @romanvejar5985

      mcgherkinstudios yeah it would immediately come back......I guess pressure was too much for stock CBV so it would hold it open. It hits about 19 psi car has downpipe, exhaust, CAI, plus just replaced almost all wear parts and AFR’s are very clean which is awesome lol

    I have a 2004.5 s40 t5 that I've been working on for the last year and a half. First thing I did was a stock tune from elevate. Completely worth it! All I have left to get at this time is the lower intake manifold and catback exhaust. After that I plan on making sure it's running as best as possible and then moving forward with the k16 swap from elevate. At the point I'm at, though, it's a completely different car from stock and couldn't be happier.

    Watching this video after the new tires being mounted gave some new expectations for this channel. #1) You are def more confident speaking when someone else is present. Advise when you make more videos, talk as a team or something. 2) The drone footage is fantastic 3) Doing some objective baselining of G-forces in a defined route would serve as a welcome indication of progress for the tire, suspension, and driving dynamics. The car sounds good!

      The rear seats of the c30 fold down to give a surprising amount of rear storage space. It wears its name well :)

  • @arschkopp
    @arschkopp 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    18:54 Well, the "problem" with the seatbelts you are referring to is actually due to the seat belt pretensioner. It is a feature wich should keep you in the right position in your seat, in the probability event of a collision...
    maybe you are hitting your brakes too hard, the car registers the "high" g-forces and it just wants to protect you ... and hug you tightly ;-)
    The seat belt pretensioner reacts to high forces while cornering, braking or accelerating.

  • @nboy7

    Damn i miss that sound. My new Polestar S60 sounds pretty lame in comparison to my old C30. The tuned T5 felt better on hard acceleration. Maybe it wasnt faster...but it sure as hell felt fast.

      @klaspeppar5619 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      nboy7 sounds like I’m not the only one that thought and still thinks that “new” VEA in-line 4 does not in any way shape or form sound as good as the older B5254, B5244 or B5204.

    • @willriley1619
      @willriley1619 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      nboy7 I know yours isn't the turbo+supercharged+electric motor, but if you haven't heard those yet they sound kind of like a jet plane. One of the most unique sounds I've ever heard coming from a car.

    • @nboy7
      @nboy7 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@willriley1619 I have the 2.0L twin charged carbon final edition. It sounds okay for a 4 pot, got some mild supercharger whine and the startup noise is decent, but otherwise its not very dramatic. Handles well and looks nice though, but it lacks the character of the older cars, doesnt feel like a Volvo, feels like an Audi or Merc 2.0L.

    • @willriley1619
      @willriley1619 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      nboy7 Yeah I understand what your saying completely especially with the feel of an Audi. With the T8 however the electric battery noise covers up some of the 4 cylinder noise and with the turbo, supercharger, and batteries it kind of makes it sound link some sort of small jet.

    I’m eventually going to do the Elevate exhaust since that’s the only add on that would work for an automatic c30 besides the Volvo Polestar. Regardless, I’m really glad you guys are working on a c30. It’s an underrated gem of a car. It’s not perfect but it is a good balance of sporty fun with that Volvo safe and sturdy feel. The design is still among the most unique yet clean looking designs all these years later. I wish they continued to update it but keeping the form factor. The new Volvo’s have those gorgeous Thor’s hammer headlights that I wish my c30 had. Other than that, I’m going to keep it until it dies.

      Michal Hobson Thanks. The Elevate guys (from their head office) said not to expect a lot of extra gains beyond the Polestar in the third gear and beyond range, which is where the real power is. I like the pull and kick in the first two gears right now and sometimes the nice surprise at 3000rpm when on the highway. They told me the best update to compliment my Polestar tune would be their exhaust. Hopefully I get some added hp and some nice sound. However, I’ll ask them about the specific updates you made and see what they say.

    Seems like elevate doesn’t make a tuner for all Volvo’s, I went on the site and there is nothing for 2013 s60 t6 .. Pretty disappointing

      This is only the first part. We will tune again after more parts go on. We’re not just going to raw power but also showing what can be done steal world

    Will this tune increase the fuel consumption?

    • @ShiftingLanes
      @ShiftingLanes  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. Anytime you increase boost, power etc, mpg goes down. Good thing I only have a 1 mile commute.

      I ran a elevate tune on my c30 for years, T5 automatic. Absolutely zero problems. I did change to a Polestar map later on due to Elevates map using up all the boost too early in the rpm range causing the car to feel relatively weak near redline. Also fuel consumption on the Elevate tune is very heavy.

    • @michalhobson7634
      @michalhobson7634 5 ปีที่แล้ว
