    Elevate themselves have a video on this exact intercooler and they state unequivocally that there is NO data to suggest that it adds any horsepower whatsoever in street trim. I respect them so much for saying that.

    I don''t know why it took so long for me to find this channel, but I'm glad I did. My brother has an 08 C30 R-design, and we're in the middle of doing an AWD swap, Already have the S40 awd rear subframe and fuel tank installed and working, currently sourcing a trans and angle gear while we get an exhaust made.

      @@zakk4744 We're using used parts. We got the driveshaft, full rear subframe and fuel tank for 600 bucks. We think we can get the transmission and angle gear for about 500. We'll also need new front axles. So I reckon if you do all the work yourself, our part cost will be somewhere in the 1400-1500 dollar range, not including the exhaust work we're doing.

      Yeah, I will be doing a mod review in the coming weeks. Depends on when parts arrive etc. Hate letting parts sit in the garage and not on the vehicle.

    Just a suggestion, having worked with Turbos for awhile, change the clamps for Heavy Duty Stainless Steel T-Bolt Clamps...

    Guys I really admire your passion.. I own a V50 and every time when you need to "tweek" something you get a mess of one day for something simple... it's a car that is a killer for mechanics! lol

    Shame Man. Elevate is amazing. But the one part you should look else where for a FMIC is Do88. Do88 is alot better at cooling the c30 T5s. Also when it's on sale it's half the price of the Elevates

      I second that. I have the Elevate intake and turbo inlet pipe, but went with the Do88. Not only does it cool better, it's also less expensive. I highly recommend it. www.vivaperformance.com/do88-big-pack-intercooler-kit-volvo-s40-v50-c30-c70-fwd/

      @@mcgherkinstudios Nah, that elevate intercooler is awesome. Not saying the Do88 isnt good, cause it is, but the Elevate is really nice and well finished. I used about 3 different ICs on my C30 but I wish id got the Elevate from the start.

    That Elevate fmic is frickin TINY. All of the aftermarket fmics you can buy in europe are significantly larger than the factory one, typically 100% larger. Theres no way that elevate fmic can cool this engine efficiently at or above 300hp

    Would a tune be needed with the aftermatket ic and hardpipe to avoid a warning light?

      TBH I didn't immediately tune mine after the install, but I did eventually retune it to max out the mods.

    I'm just curious as to why you didn't install a new inlet manifold whenever you installed your intake. The claimed HP gains made with the new manifold are insane. +26 HP for just the upper and + 11 for the lower

    I have a 2011 s40 T5 R-Design, bro it’d be great if you went into a little more detail/instruction on how to install various parts! You’re like the only one with the P1 setup who’s putting on all elevate parts which is my plan as well. I definitely look to a lot of your videos for guidance man, car sounds amazing! Hopefully in a year or two I’ll have that exact same sound coming out of mine (given that it’s essentially the exact same car with a slightly different body design and that’s about it)

      You don't need all the parts to be elevate some parts are even inferior to other brands like the DO88 intercooler. And some parts are available at 1/3 the price for the same quality of part. Such as the Viva performance down pipe.

    Wonder why Volvo didn’t factor in the Swedish summer when designing the intercooler but I guess I will just have to blame Ford for that.
    Speaking of summer I’m looking forward to the summer, summer is the best day here in Sweden.

      Stock intercooler looks like it's made out of aluminum, and mud, bugs, and shit. Cleaning it might have been a better investment,along with the AC condenser and radiator! And now a word from our sponsor.

    So watching this series I learned, when buy my salvage c30, that if I get a front impact one, I should do all my mods while repairing the front impact lol.
    Curious, how much do you think wrapping that hard pipe could help with heat soak since it runs right under the ending like that? I know heat raises so I was thinking you'd have gained more wrapping the intake than the hard pipe, but a little extra wrap never hurt (coming from Subaru where the IC is heat soak central)

      Gold wrapping it would probably help a bit. Was looking into the turbo blanket. Decided to wait until new turbo

    Your headlight projector looks foggy to me, I think you should check them. There's a video on YT how to clean these projectors. Are you planning to fix the headlight washers too?

    Hi.. by any chance u planning on replacing the actuator for the Elevate Volvo C30 T5 K04 Turbo Wastegate Actuator?
    Peak boost of 17psi @ 3100 RPM while the factory actuator held 13psi @ 3500 RPM.
    ELEVATE Wastegate Actuator reached 13psi @ 2800 RPM, 700 RPM earlier than the factory actuator.
    At maximum engine speed, our wastegate actuator produced 11psi while the factory unit produces 8psi.
    anychance of replacing the cbv for the Elevate Volvo C30 T5 Dual-Port Compressor Bypass Valve
    getting my tax money on friday and ready to spend some of it on the car

      @@Dubst3pT3ch That's not what I mean. I get that it gives you more power, denser charge. But I wonder if it improves throttle response due to not expanding in the stock pipes (ie. the stock plastic charge pipe stretches a bit under boost, causing a delay). Hard charge pipe doesn't stretch, meaning it should be quicker throttle.

    Man..you speak too much about elevate! Don't get me wrong..but there are few alternatives to Elevate..cheaper ones from Airtec, dreamscience..and not so cheap from ProAlloy! Also the carbon intake provided by Autospecialists is great! 3" exhaust Miltek Ultimate/ KMS section 18/ KMS thunderstorm is what a custom built car needs and after all these hardware mods, you need a software upgrade!

    I don'r believe that intercooler is that inefficient, anything above 10c... Volvo aren't dumb, got to be good to 25c at least.
    If they are that dumb, lets hope Renault aren't, because i'm not forking out for an intercooler on a 2004, 94k Meg 225!!

      The stock intercoolers suck that bad. I've hit 75C° intake temperature with one 3rd gear pull. Or about 40C° above outside temperature.

      Its intentionally sized that way to reduce fuel consumption. If they run the air too cool the car will use more fuel under certain conditions on the test cycle, and fuel consumption was already a problem for the T5 engine marketing.
