Thanks so much for sharing this adventure! Pro tip: when walking downhill/stairs with your bike, pot it up on the back wheel like a wheelie so it lets you walk upright and use the brake if necessary. Much love from the Midwest US 💖
@@sarahinscotland Oh, sorry, I meant you walk behind your bike with it upright on its back wheel. You're totally coordinated enough. Maybe try it in a parking lot for practice. Anyways, thanks so much for sharing your and Wolfie's fun adventures!!! I love Scotland too---US lady too.
So unbelievably gorgeous! I was holding my breath so many times from the stunning beauty of Scotland, and for your safety from falling ! Looking forward to more of the Scotland. Thank you for sharing.😊
This episode is magnificent! I have to watch it again on my laptop. All of the colors in the rocks, the textures, caves, fog that is almost mystical, I’m in awe. Thank you for sharing this with us! And now I know everything about Gorse! I have more episodes to catch up on and I can’t wait!
I would be setting up a tent and staying there forever if I could. It is so magical, and I can't even imagine how breathtaking it would be to see all of this. Thank you Sarah and Wolfie for sharing this amazing part of your world.
I agree with all the sentiments written before mine...such a beautiful video made by people who love the country. I love the fact that Wolfie is comfortable enough to add a narative or two in the video. Thank you both for sharing. ❤😘
Because of you videos I want to visit the coast of Scotland so badly! Hi from someone who grew up in Ohio, moved to Colorado and now lives in the Black Forest. 🌳❤
Loved the video. It’s so pretty in Scotland. I have to say Wolfie and you are so cute together. I love that he is able to be your work partner as well. It’s nice to see how much you love each other. Not to mention how much you two make me laugh. Thanks for sharing my friend 💕💜🌷
This was so breathtakingly beautiful! Love your art, your photography, video photography and commentary along the way. It's great to hear and see Shaun more now. You both make a great team.
What an amazing video! I am also so happy that You don’t have to do those trail alone anymore Sarah. You have company, You have someone holding the Camera and You can be together and share the moments together with the very best Wolfy in the World! I also realized that I am horrified for highs.
Sarah your paintings are as breeathtaking as nature itself! What wonders! Both Mother Nature and your paintings!! Thanks for sharing all these amazing views of this beautiful scenes. Don’t think I would go off seeing these fantastic places, even if I lived there! What an explorer you and your husband are!! Thanks again!
Watching your videos is always just like a little virtual holiday in Scotland. Seeing the beautiful scenery through your artist's eye makes it even more enjoyable. Thank you for sharing your impressions! Geli (from Bavaria)
Thank you so much for taking us here on our Sunday afternoon. I know how much you both put into these videos. The castle was amazing. Mark and Nan. Johnny’s friends from last September.
Sarah, thank you for this series. Inspired by YOU we (my husband and I) have just returned from a week in Lossiemouth, visiting that beautiful coastline. Your ears must have been burning, as we kept talking about you and thinking how helpful this has been to make the most of our time here. We live on the south coast of England and have visited Scotland a few times now and no doubt will be back for more, under your helpful tour hints!. I have also done some of your skillshare classes which were a great prep for sketching and painting the coast. Just cant get enough of you!. We managed to get Findlater Castle in sunshine, but with added mist over the fields behind. Heavenly - as was the pancakes at Harbour lights. 😋
Wonderful, thank you! You can see why, after colonisation, Tasmania was overwhelmingly settled by Scots, where they found a familiar craggy and wild landscape, although, as they would find out, much harsher and the soils more marginal. They brought with them gorse and thistles, which out of context, have become noxious weeds with which we do battle constantly, but also brought amazing stone masonry and golf :)).
Just beautiful.. those drone shots are incredible.. what vibrant colours and super cool to see the same site look so different. Don’t know what you’re talking about but the paintings were great 😊 and great camera work Wolfie!
Gorgeous scenery! Wolfie and you make such a great team 😃! It was fun seeing you paint and seeing both of you exploring the castle. Someday I would like you to paint some Scottish vampires "living" in that foggy castle 🧛♂!
What a wonderful video. The scenery is beautiful but watching you paint, as always, is awesome. You lay down the paint so quickly and loosely that I'm always surprised how realistic it looks in the end. Your light and shadows are to be envied and I feel as though I see them playing together, in my world, much more vividly thanks to you!
Gorgeous views. Thank you for taking us on a tour of the castle! We don't have castles in the U.S. and i likely won't make it to see some in person so this was amazing!
Thank you a lot - for all your videos - they are beyond magnificent ! I feel so inspired by you guys and love your sense of humor and huge love for nature and each other!
Hi Sarah ❤ This summer I am visiting Schotland for the first time. Remembering your videos of the Moray coast I really wanted to visit it as well. We stayed in the Cairngorms for a few day’s and planned enough time to go to Findlater castle and Bow Fiddle rock. It was even more beautiful live than in your videos. Thank you for sharing your love of Schotland, Sarah. And the older videos keep inspiring others. (Or st least me)
The gorse (spelling) is so beautiful. Thanks for taking us along! Also, as I am currently recouping from a tick borne illness… be safe! I use lemongrass essential oils mixed with a carrier oil to spray down my legs when I go out in the woods! Also, I really love that Wolfie gets to be with you all the time. ❤️❤️ so happy for you guys!
I literally smiled the entire time watching this video. My health is giving me some issues. It's not something I've ever had to worry about before. So I'm finding it difficult to adjust to my slower pace.
I try to imagine the workers hanging off that steep slope, heaving heavy stones to build a castle in the middle ages. Yikes. I wonder how many were injured (or worse) in the process?! Thanks for another amazing video, Sarah!
Thank you both for another fantastic video…just love the drone footage you get on your hikes and it was so neat to see the castle in the fog and then the bright sun. You sure get a variety of interesting weather in a short space of time. Love both your channels!
Nice. We were there a few weeks ago. You can totally explore deep into the castle. The lower rooms were storage and the only living area visible now was the top room, now just a wall really. Nice site. The walls are either slate or, in the more plush areas above, marble (which I found unusual for Scottish castles). The top room has a nice garderobe (loo) visible too. Love the art! The museum staff at Banff can fill you in with all the historical details if you're there.
You gave my heart a stop a couple of times with the edge of the earth views. Good thing I was sitting down. That water is stunning. Thanks to you both for sharing Scotland and it's history with us. Just mesmerizing.
Such beautiful landscapes. It's so cool seeing Scotland through your paintings and videos. I was wondering since the castle is around 800 years, give or take, if with the erosion of winds and storms that maybe the castle wasn't built on the face of the cliff? just wondering. Thanks for sharing, Sarah.
It takes several thousands of years for the land to erode cliffs like this, if not hundreds/millions. You'll see lots of examples of castles build on cliff edges in Scotland because it's strategic to avoid being sieged and giving the best line of sight
Loved this video… what an absolutely breathtaking area. That view of (and from) the castle was amazing! The drone shots of the castle were incredible. ❤❤ Went from being miffed that Wolfy was rushing your painting process, to “Wolfy is a hero” when he got you out of tick territory 😂.
Stunning place thank you for sharing ❤😊 we're watching repeats of 'Shetland' crime drama and is located on the shetland Islands and love seeing it plus generally is a good programme
You're doing it Sarah!!! Nice that you have Wolfie with you now. I'm sure it'll help in those iffy spots. And a possibility of longer hikes together. Safety. Hopefully you will not miss those moments of solitude
Sarah I’m curious if there is any information as to WHY the castles all seem to be built on cliffs even part of the cliffs (very scarey) on very small amounts of land with no sight of fresh water supply amazed at how they were built ❤
I believe it’s a strategic thing - up high gives you far sightline to watch for invaders. And it would be harder to siege the castle if there’s only one access “path”
@@sarahinscotland That's too bad. It sure explains why when Wolfie gave you the news, you hopped right up. I would have done the same thing. If you ever do get Lyme disease, there is a doctor who is a Lyme specialist near Boston, MA. I have a friend who got Lyme disease in her 70's, and she went to him and is now completely better. Thanks for the amazing video of the castle clinging to the cliffs - you are wise to not risk going too near the edge!
Have you thought about getting a GoPro you can wear on your bike helmets? I would think that would make shooting videos easier for you and your husband, while riding your bikes.
You didn't like your husband walking to edges? Imagine the wives and mothers of the original builders as the scrambled along that bluff with cart loads of shale. Deb in Montana USA

I don't know if I'm coordinated enough for that! 😅But I did end up using the front break a ton which helped relieve a lot of the weight.
