- Our friend was recently visiting us and we went on many adventures over the course of a week. Even during Storm Babet we went out to find something spectacular. This video really shows what a whole week in Scotland is like - especially the constant variation in weather. That combined with the beauty of autumn made for a really great week! Oh man, Stunning views and fun commentary. Can I be your friend and have a 7 day hiking adventure in Scotland? I'll buy the whiskey and pay for all the gas!!! 🙂 Seriously, it's so refreshing to see another part of the world and the beauty it holds. I love autumn in the Pacific Northwest and your hikes and views can be so similar..........it encourages me to get out more! Thank you and Wolfie for your willingness to share your life.

Haha I've been thinking about doing photo trips in addition to my painting holidays (which aren't ready yet but already started planning). The thing I wonder is how to balance all the "IRL" trips/workshops with my online business..it would be very difficult at least at first 😊
@@sarahinscotland slowly but surely. Just start small like 2 or 3 possible planned photo trips or even one. Test it out. Put it on your blog. Give future calendar dates with subject to change due to the level of demand. haha See how many folks are truly interested in doing this. Then you can add other dates on your time or around the time 2 to 3 patrons are interested in doing them. It could be something like.."Planning to visit Scotland any time soon in the future? and you love to sketch and draw and take photos of some of its iconic places near (you would put the locations that would be most convenient for you here). ? I can make you time there well spent ..etc etc..and you can add the rest... lol best wishes on all you do Sarah!

Thank you so much for the wonderful fun adventure vacation! You are right about it being spectacular each time we visit the familiar spots that you are known for sharing quite a bit. Always interesting & inspirational. Again you’ve shared some fantastic views & vistas. This virtual vacation was just the great pick me up for me heading towards the winter season here across the pond. You & Wolfe are excellent tour guides for this. I’m thinking 🤔 you both would be great at that. Maybe 🤔 doing a watercolor/gouache painting retreat for a couple of days! Once again thanks for sharing your wonderful fun times with us and making a huge difference in this journey of life & painting! 😘💕

I don't feel tired from all that hiking. I do wish I could taste that whiskey though. All kidding aside, you've inspired me to get back outside. It's fall here in Oregon, USA. The trees have changed to bright colors and the leaves are starting to fall. It's beautiful here for the moment. We actually have sunshine! Well, until Tuesday, then it's back to rain, cold, clouds, and low light so I better get my butt outside and enjoy some sunshine.
I know the feeling. Pretty much any day with even a hint of sun I am outside. Gotta soak it up when it’s there

Hi Sarah. So glad that your area wasn't affected as much by the storms And you and Wolfie are safe. May I just say you should seriously think about signing up as a photographer for Scotland's nature and historic sights? or perhaps even start your own Sarah In Scotland tours! At your own schedule of course. Or way planned ahead like a 3month in advance! Your videos are so amazingly well edited and well done with the MOST spectacular shots of Scotland's scenic views I've ever seen online! Well done! I felt as if I was there with you every step of the way. Nature is my comforter, my home, my safe haven. I come alive when I am around it and in it, rain, sleet, wind, snow, heat all you can think of! Like I can finally breathe the way I am supposed to! lol But I can also appreciate it in silence or from afar inside with a view cozied up just admiring its beauty. No wonder your choice in things to draw/paint sketch is nature 😊 I am truly hoping that nature holds off a bit with its extreme weather till I do get over there. lol lol, Earth is changing fast. What a WONDERFUL place to live..truly it is! God bless and have a great week! ❤

Fabulous videography as always, glad to see you weren't too badly affected by the storm, we had terrible flooding in the west coast, knee to thigh high deep waters, but thankfully we live higher up so our house was affected, but others in the lower end were. I keep saying I will get up to the north east coast one day and definitely want to plan a trip for next year as everytime I see one of your coastal videos, it makes me want to be there too lol
The storms have just been mental the last couple years. Sometimes it's quite scary.

We spent 2.5 weeks in scotland (skye and oban area mostly) and we were back home in the Netherlands a few days before that storm hit.
For our next trip we were thinking about the area around Balmoral castle. Judging from your footage that should be a great spot to visit 😊

Brilliant video Sarah, if you go back to Burn o vat when there has not been too much rain you can go through the gap in the rocks up the wee stream and into the vat.
Yea that is what I was hoping for but it was just way too stormy! I’ve seen really cool images from inside there. I’d love to paint in there

Wow you sure showed the guys some great places and nice hikes, and experience some proper highland weather 😊 l go up to family in Strathpeffer, and go and visit wild places Nth west. I really need to do more on the East. Ive done Crovie (Crivvi) and other fishing villages in Fife/Angus. Ive taken notes from your video Sarah and put them on my list for next visit. Im always in Glencoe would have loved to have met you. Thank you for sharing your tour.......Alioban x

I love being on the East coast and being able to go see the cliffs in 30 mins, the waves can def get intense at times lol
Me too...where we are now is an amazing spot for exploration if you like variety!

What a great vacation, you really made the best of the weather 100%. I was concerned about how you fared in the storm after seeing the devastation all along the east coast. It was certainly wild.. we are really glad we could still be out (briefly) without it being dangerous for us.

The variety of natural beauty you live around is amazing! It's pretty where I live, but all the same, no variety at all... I'd have to drive well over 4 hours to even remotely find something different... unfortunately I rarely plein air paint because of it... this is why I'm obsessed with your videos! This video was an insane visual feast for my soul! What a magical visit he had with ya'll!

Great video, Scotland calls to me to come paint there, what is one of the biggest challenges facing you as an artist trying to paint there?
Definitely the wind and rain. You sometimes get lucky with a perfect day but it's rare. So being nimble and adaptable is important. I think that's a big reason I learned / learning to paint FAST outside

Yea the midges are mostly gone. The other day I noticed a couple but the temps dropped a lot this week and I don't think we have to worry
