Loved when you talked about seeing colors and what would be needed to mix them. Many a time I have driven my husband nuts along the same line. The good part was with time he just tunes it out. I am really enjoying this series.
Sasha, Sarah, another wonderful coastal video. I love boom and hiss of the breaking surf, I know we can't quite express that on paper but the scenery helps bring it to mind. I recently celebrated my 78th birthday, among my gifts were a Stillman and Birn sketchbook and Portable Painter mini pallet . I filled it with Daniel Smith's essentials colors as they were on hand. My mint tin pallet holds twelve half pans but lacks the water dish and multiple mixing trays, but is still compact. I'm looking forward to taking them out to the river.
My father was born in Gourdon and the family I visited was in Inverbervie. I camped along the seaside between the 2 villages while visiting my uncle in Bervie. This is where a large chunk of my heart remains
O M G, I felt overwhelming just by looking at Your fantastic video and it's good You got Your name on it so none can use it as their own. I also love how You put the passpartou around the photos make it feel we were looking in Your albums. Just another wow can best describe my feeling of this video! You've progressed in making videos!
I often feel that way too. I was listening to some music at one point and I walked up over the edge, staring out over the water and instantly started crying. I kind of blame the song, but it matched my emotions of the beauty I saw!
👋🏼 Wow, what a beautiful and colorful coastal journey! I loved how you shared your artistic perspective and appreciation for nature. The scenery was breathtaking and I can't wait to see more episodes of your adventures.🌅🎨🏞👍🏼
Thanks fo showing us so much of the east side of Scotland, I just found your videos the other day while browsing vlogs of Scotland and they are such a treat. Now I've found your art channel as well and it's so calming.
Hi Sarah. I have been fascinated with Scotland, esp since ancestry says I am 13% Scottish. I believe my Morey ancestors were inhabiting this area :). More research needed!
Magnificent! Thank you Sarah! I had a good giggle when you spoke about always thinking how you would mix the colours you see as I do the same! Loved the light!✨
Oh Sarah, what a lovely start to your long hike, the scenery is just beautiful and the beach there stunning. I was mesmerised with the colours at the end. I'm looking forward to seeing the castle close up. Oh and what a lovely set of steps! Thank you for sharing your hike, most enjoyable and relaxing 🥰
Sarah, this was glorious. I'm going to watch it again at some point, with only the small light, to get even more out of the colours and the views. I'm glad to see that you've replied to comments in the last hour or so, having read the news of Storm Otto's devastation. Thank you for giving me 20 minutes of quiet beauty and your joy, after what has been a busy day doing restock shopping (after being without the car for a month, it was a _big_ restock!) and other mundane, but essential things (like putting it all away in the right places)! 😊
It's taken me far too many days to actually watch this. For those who don't live pretty far north or as in my case, pretty far south, it's hard to describe just how magical that silvery winter light is. It bathes everything in this absolutely magical glow that makes you believe that you just might be living in a fairy story. The colours are entrancing. Thank you so much for the quiet footage of the waves rolling lazily in, such a balm in this bizarre, chaotic world.
Stunning coastline! I didn't get to this area on my last Scotland trip so I'm watching keenly and taking notes 😊 thanks for sharing it all with us (especially those of us on the other side of the world) Very much appreciated
I don't think there's a part of Scotland's coast that wouldn't take your breath away! So glad you're feeling better and back to achieving your dream. 💖
Such a beautiful area, thanks for sharing! It was so nice to see colour. We are still buried by snow, there’s lots of grey/brown bark on trees, but no leaves and even the evergreens are so dark, you barely see colour this time of year. I’m itching for spring and growth and colour!!
Fabulous filming. I know what you mean about looking at colour mixing! I watched a lot of Richard Musgrave Evans and his huge skies. Ever since I’ve been “mixing” sky colours in my head. The skies in your film are not dissimilar in colour gradation to his. Thanks for sharing Jill, NE 🏴
This was amazing to watch! Thank you! Definitely makes me want to visit these places. Wow! I'm an elopement photographer here in the US and with my couples we always have to stay for that last bit of light too. Then have to hike in the dark, lol. So I feel ya on that one. :) Can't wait to keep following along!
Oh that sounds familiar! I used to do wedding/elopement photography in Denver. I always took my couples out for golden hour but we’d often stay into blue hour. Such a gorgeous time of day!!
Thank you Sarah. Breathtaking Beauty. As I walk or drive or simply look out my window, I see light and shadow, shapes and colors. I don't have your experience with color mixing so my brain doesn't take me through those details. Sadly, most of my paintings colors turn muddy. Peace.
Sarah, just gorgeous. I know exactly what you mean when you are translating everything you see into paint colors. Also, when the light is right, don't you feel like you just can't take it in fast enough? Makes one feel like you wish you could just breath it all in and then slowly exhale it all at your leisure to consume it slowly. Thanks for sharing.
Absolutely! When I was filming the sand dunes, the light was dipping behind the hill so fast that I only had a couple minutes before the grasses were in shadow. It was shocking how fast the sun set 😅 I wish I could have had an hour with that light…
Thank you Sarah for sharing your journey, I love every minute of these videos. Breath taking and the colors...wow!! So glad you are feeling better and able to make these videos again.
This was beyond gorgeous and amazing! I am so fascinated by rocks and they are often the subject of my paintings. The waves are also so amazing as they bring their lacy edges up on the sands..ahh, gorgeous. I was so excited to see you had posted today, Thank you!
It’s hard not to be mesmerised by the amazing patterns and colors of the rocks. I’ve been reading about the history of the formation of Scotland and so interesting to read about each area. Hundreds of millions of years ago these visible rocks were below the surface and water, now pushed upwards and standing vertically in such cool shapes!
@@sarahinscotland That is so interesting. I've always been intrigued by Scotland, both of my parents are of Scottish descent and I've tried to find out facts about them. But aside from that, Scotland is a beautiful country. I hope you can continue to bring Scotland to my house :) Thanks for all your efforts. ♥
Beautiful Scotland is as we visited Edinburgh last year with my husband and step Mum but we want to explore more the countryside next. My husband has Scottish blood in him and felt quite at home there🏡 your sketches are beautiful. We live in Wales 🏴 which is very countryside too but nice to see other areas as would love to see Lockloman and the Highlands.
Gorgeous views, and I love to hear the ocean waves. Do you wish you had taken a walking stick with you? Some parts of the trail looked a little precarious.
Stunning - thanks yet again for showing the places I can’t get to. I love the channel. Can I ask, which drone are you using? I know someone that’s trying to get drone shots but they are having trouble getting the thing off the ground, let alone doing the photography bit 😂
I’m glad you enjoy it, even if from afar. I use the mavic mini (original), so I can’t get 4K or ultra HD images…but it works for me for now! It’s been an interesting challenge to learn how to use it, especially in certain weather.
Amazing Sarah I really enjoyed that, like you I absolutely love the colours too. I recently bought some gouache paints to practice with - you are my inspiration
Hi Sarah, So happy you are well again and able to go back on the trail 💕. This was a breath-taking video. Thanks so much for sharing this scenery and sunset with us. I felt like I was there. I can’t wait for the next video 😊
We discovered Sunnyside beach shortly after moving to the area. Definitely worth the effect. Planning to get there again when the weather gets better 😊
Somehow this feels like you have so much more to share on painting rocks, even beyond what I learned in the Skillshare class! I need to go back and check all of those classes out again. Beautiful! Thanks for sharing!
So beautiful and peaceful! Thank you 🩷 I just got some new, nice noise-canceling headphones and the wave sounds at the end were so enveloping and soothing.
Sarah your videos are so soothing, inspirational and just magical! I have to visit Scotland and would love to paint the beautiful coast in my sketchbook. I have learned a lot from your videos and am enjoying your hike along the coast.
Sadly although it's mapped as a full path there are lots of gaps, from macduff to gardenstown it can be sketchy in places, lots of no path areas. Gardenstown - Troup head.. So much sketching 😂 Troup head to Cullycan again very sketchy in places, there is historical path but its so rarely used. Onwards to Fraserburgh its really decent but new aberdour beach clif path requires care and a head for heights (sand Martins in spring too) Gorgeous walk even if I am biased being from Crovie 😁
Hi Sarah, I'm Hasan from Dhaka, Bangladesh. I'm a nature lover as well as exploring new places on virtual tour on my big screen tv. Only today I have been notified about your TH-cam channel. Your videography is awesome. You are a American and live in Colorado. North America is also beautiful landscape. You have migrated to Scotland on 2021. Scotland is also a beautiful place. But weather is mysterious. Maximum time of the year is cloudy and rainy as well cold. Is your partner is UK citizen and reasons why you have moved to UK (Scotland) ? What is your profession apart from TH-cam channel ? It's nice to me to exchange some views with you. Stay safe and blessed.
Greetings - yes my husband is Scottish so we had to decide which one of us was going to immigrate. Since I knew I loved Scotland and wanted to see what it was like to live here, it was a good choice :)
When you do longer hikes along the trails like your moray coast hike from town to town, do you walk back or do you get picked up, take a bus back, etc?
I usually that the bus which is why it’s good to start/stop in a town with a bus stop. But if it’s relatively short I don’t mind walking back to my car. Especially if it’s beautiful!
Loved when you talked about seeing colors and what would be needed to mix them. Many a time I have driven my husband nuts along the same line. The good part was with time he just tunes it out. I am really enjoying this series.
LOL yep, pretty much. Wolfy just smiles and nods 😂

I watch your videos almost every day! I love the way you show Landscapes & Oceanscaat the End of your Videos 😃!
Wow, Sarah! That was wonderful! Can't wait til we get there ourselves in October!
Oh Sarah, soooooo beautiful, thank you for this amazing view!
My pleasure!
Breathtaking beauty!! I could feel relaxation take over my soul! Thank you 😊
That’s the best reaction I could hope for!

Your living the dream my friend. I love watching your adventures. Glad you and Vader are doing better. 😊
Thank you very much 💕
Thanks Sarah 😊 🙏
Thank you, Sarah! The beauty of it is almost overwhelming.
I often feel that way too. I was listening to some music at one point and I walked up over the edge, staring out over the water and instantly started crying. I kind of blame the song, but it matched my emotions of the beauty I saw!
Thank you, love your photography, I think you captured the essence of the NE coast beautifully. So good for the soul.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I absolutely love your videos. Scotland is my favourite place in the world and you capture her beauty in such a wonder way.
That’s wonderful to hear!🥰

@@sarahinscotland that will be great Sarah, look forward to seeing it. Take care
Fantastic video. So beautiful. How is a person supposed to 'capture' these amazing views on paper? Good job Sarah, thank you so much!

Yea I was woken up at 6am by my windows rattling! 85mph gusts where I live. I think we had it ‘easy’ compared to others.

Totally agree!
the light and the sky colours are one reason i really like living on the north east, and im not a long drive from most places😀
Such gorgeous colors!
Wow, filmed on your phone, really beautiful picture. Thanks!
Yea, the iPhone is pretty incredible these day!
Such a beautiful area, thanks for sharing! It was so nice to see colour. We are still buried by snow, there’s lots of grey/brown bark on trees, but no leaves and even the evergreens are so dark, you barely see colour this time of year. I’m itching for spring and growth and colour!!
