for those still wondering Build Divers Genius Head Line is the successor series to Build Divers side story "GM and Ball World Challenge" where the Gundam Stormbringer and Polypod Ball hailed from and focuses on characters who Gunpla battle using 1/100 scale kits as opposed to the Build Divers anime where the characters use 1/144 scale and SD kits.
This kit looks amazing just with panel lining! I love the Seed kits, I think the take on this Impulse is a vast improvement. Even though there's nothing wrong with regular Impulse 🤪

Though the color scheme is on the simple side, this is one of the most elegant Gundam IMO. I really, really like that combination of white, red and light / dark grey. The legs are so good, slender and strong at the same time... Overall this kit is a great one. Gave me the idea I was looking for for the main color scheme on the RG Tallgeese I am building and which is ready to be airbrushed. Thank you for excellent review, I like the light in your videos, which is bright enough but not too white neither yellow to change much the natural colors. Keep up the good work.

I'm going to need more masking tape when I paint this thing... So much opportunity for armor color separation that isn't built into this kit. Gonna be a fun time painting this!
I have the mg force impulse with the anti ship sword and it's pretty good, The actual force impulse pack got a bit loose but it comes with a massive sword so I can't stay mad forever, It's solid, has a some cool accessories, I guess my only complaint is the feet and I definitely prefer those newer feet
This was awesome. I felt the same as you. When I saw this version of Impulse. Now I will say I like the feet on the original when it was released. Like with the Sword Impulse. The feet here are such an upgrade. Great Review as always
Honestly, this is one of my top candidates for finishing off this year’s model budget. Unfortunately, the other candidate is the MGEX Strike Freedom coming in November… I’m interested in how this will compare to the MG Perfect Strike Grand Slam detail-wise too.
Well, slightly modified 2008 kit vs brand new strike freedom with few shades of gold peaking through the armor everywhere, etching parts and god-like level of articulation and gimmics... that would be an easy pick for me
As far as feet go! I like the look of the Ex-Impulse, but I prefer the original long slender foot design of the SEED series. The original line art for the Mechs has them with beautiful, long and slender feet, and I love that design in comparison to, say, the RX-78 foot design, stumpy and blocky.

Which markers do you use for the panel lining and touch-ups? I've built 7-8 models now but haven't touched paint. There are a lot of different pens available (and they're expensive here, €25-30 a pack) so I'd prefer not to order the wrong ones :)
A remaster version of the impulse would be very cool in the near future but knowing Bandai that aint happening anytime soon lol This "new" mold almost feels like a remaster version tho... very cool kit as his by all NAOKI designs.

At least the Justice, Providence/Legend, Zaku Warrior, Strike Dagger, and all three waves of gundams (duel, buster, blitz, aegis, calamity, raider, forbidden, Gaia, chaos, abyss, savior) I just recently repainted a hg calamity gundam I had for years and I wish that there would be an improvement to the single-jointed elbows and backpack cannon connectors
I can't understand why they didn't includes the new strike freedom mgex articulation technology. Ex impulse looks incredible but it's sad that in 2022(2023 now) we still can't rotate properly that torso except for the strike freedom

you should show the out of box with out detailing more often to give people idea of what the kits look like when they dont panel line cause they suck at it

Ahh I see.. Now it's make sense why Genius Head Line's line only appear in 1/100 scale. But I wish Bandai make the 1/144 scale as well..
This is one of those redesigns that improves on the original so much, its hard to go back to the classic version, well, atleast for me.

i prefer the long thin feet, as they aid in balance when a forward leaning/striking/swinging pose is in use.

That MGEX Strike Freedom looks absolutely stunning.
The Ex-Impulse looks like the same upgrades (applied to the Impulse) of taking an RX-78-2 Grandaddy to the RX-178 Gundam Mk II.

if you look at it closely the EX Impulse looks almost like a MG version of Denial Gundam. the head, torso and feet looks almost the same.
