      I just bought the tein advance and I read the instructions, it's almost like a break in period before lowering it really low, drove it like that for about 2 weeks and then lowered it to my liking and it's a beautiful ride, I don't go to much on the hard setting I stay a few clicks away from it, you actually keep people watching your videos with your crazy ass, thanks for so you want a honda prelude, that one also has Tein advance

    Just a helpful tip, if the ride height is too low after the install without any height adjustments, you can raise it. For rear divorced setups, the spring perch will have threading below the adjuster rings showing how much room you have to raise the ride height. Be sure to adjust the shock body height accordingly.

    I was watching a video where in japan they just wrap their threads with electrical tape. then when they need to adjust them take off the tape and the threads stay looking clean and fresh.
    But at the same time, it would be annoying having to unravel all that tape just to adjust your coil overs. but then again.. most of us who have coil overs make a few adjustments and almost never touch them again lol.

    What would cause the front coilovers to change height on you every 10,000 mi? I had Megan Racing Street Series kit on my 1993 3000GT and it seemed like I was the only person in the clubs experiencing this with that brand or similar brand kits. Yes I started out making these adjustment mistakes, but even after I learned how to adjust them correctly with the bottom collar, they still never stayed put. Also for some reason the GT would always change height every time it got an alignment. 🤔 Try explaining that one knowing they wouldn't they wouldn't go through the trouble of trying to adjust the coilovers themselves. I've been adamant that I had a kit that was subpar in Megan Racing's QC, as well as agreeing with someone who pointed out that I should get thrust bearings for the fronts.
    Any recommendations for a kit that doesn't give me these headaches, and isn't going to break my back on my daily driven Genesis Coupe R-Spec?

    My kid put an ISC N1 coilover kit on his 07 E90 335i. I just had to rescue him on the roadside as the rear tires were rubbing on the suspension. He ran all winter in his winter tires with no issues. I think he may have tried to lower the car a little and may have done it wrong. My question is, if you are adjusting ride height for summer and winter, do you need to get an alignment each time?

    Anyone know if mixing components from different brand coil overs works. Thinking of getting second hand BC lowers already welded onto a spindle and may use a different brand upper if found for a good price at sometime down the line. Wondering if the BC threads will accept upper threads from other brands... not sure if anyone has experience doing this and has recommendations.
    Wondering if this would make for a good Fitment vid...maybe?

    I am new to fitting wheels and tires, if my car comes stock with 245/45/R18 size tires, does getting larger wheels/tires affect my speedometer, and if it affects my speedometer, does that affect how fast or slow my car’s odometer reads? so will a larger set of wheels and tires make my speedo read slower since there’s less revolutions and therefore gain mileage slower?

    • @FitmentIndustries
      @FitmentIndustries  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It will effect it due to the amount of distance per revolution for both speedo and odometer, yes. This difference with the odometer with a slightly larger size will be very minor and is no cause for major concern. You have the right idea with the larger wheels/tires making your speedo read slightly slower.

    Hey lads, what can you tell me about the EW10 J4S engine from the PSA group.
    Is it reliable ?
    Is it cheap ?
    And most importantly, can you turbocharge it ?
    (If not, are there other options among the PSA engines ?)

    • @car-enthusiast3141
      @car-enthusiast3141 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Well they are commonly found among French cars such as Citroen or Peugeot (maybe both).
      They come around 115 hp -125 ish hp.
      They are 1.3-1.5l 4 banger small engines so turbocharging them can be tricky. But if u wanna do it, go with a single turbo setup that can boost around 5-8 psi of boost per pressure.
      Well that’s all I know most about psa engines so hope they will help u :).

    To protect threads on the coilovers, go round them with insulation tape.

    I thought everytime u remove the coil u have to get alignment? So we can’t remove them everytime we want to go lower or higher

    So essentially you lower the coilover only by the shock body ? Correct? They are already pre loaded. Iv seen ppl actually compress the spring which is stupid but also can lower the spring instead of compressing but I’m guessing that kills the suspension. Last full body ones I put on my mini they were ore loaded which I wasn’t sure on but I did my research and only adjusted the shock body. Rides great and is for sure slammed way more than the shitty spring sleeve junk with 2 cut coils talk about rough lol
