For the stancey boi's, I SWEAR I remember reading an article on a company making "cambered" tires that would let people run 3-5 degrees of negative camber while maintaining a flat contact patch....am I crazy?
When I worked at Discount Tire I remember being told this by my old manager "Horsepower means NOTHING if you can't stay on the road" If you drive enthusiastically and have a sports car then you definitely dont want to go all out on the engine bay, the paint, the wrap, the wheels, and then get caught slipping going too fast towards a corner because you bought ling long tires
I've used many Chinese tires and the only thing that I find them lacking in is tread life. However, i only put 10,000km per year on my car. Having said that, the ride quality and performance was always fine. I've never had a problem with grip in rain or snow. I currently have Chinese summer tires and Chinese winter tires. It's far more dangerous to drive like a lunatic on expensive tires than to drive responsibly on cheap tires. If you care about safety, don't drive like an idiot.
I put Toyo TR-1s on my Miata which were one of the cheaper options and they were absolutely great. Decent wet grip, more than enough dry grip for the street, not uncomfortable, and 60% of the cost of pilot sports.
There's a lot of middle ground between the cheapest of no name trash and the most premium of summer tyres. It depends on the application. Plenty of good tyres near the bottom end of the price scale for everyday driving
Some tires might can resist puncture by nail, if the rubber is good enough. Some tire brands have either soft or hard rubbber. Depends on the brand and location of mfr.
I broke some stock rims, got some brand new reps and new set of treads for 1k altogether. Yeah their all cheap but if your in a bind its not a bad deal. if you plan on getting bigger rims than yeah save a bit on rubber not that crazy
My Civic Si came with fresh General tires when I bought it as a used car. First thing I thought was I’m going to order some Yokos or Michelins asap. Did some research and realized General is the same as Continental. After some months of city driving with a bit of spirited drives here and there, they’ve been great tires for daily use! Great in the rain and light snow too. If anybody is looking at “cheap” tires for daily driving I’d recommend General 100%. I now have Continental Extreme Contacts on the way and cannot wait to feel the difference.

Also found out there is no warranty. Dont be like me, I'm even poorer now. Making bad decisions always leads to having to make more bad decisions.
i remember seeing winrun on a nissan200sx turbo and landsail on a v8 range rover ! oh dear, and a few years back a woman drove in to the tyre fitters ( i was getting goodyear asymmetric 6 on my daughters 1.2 corsa ) , in a 08 renault megan scenic and asked for 2 cheap front tyres, i looked in the back of her car and there was a child seat and a kid sitting in the front aged about 13 , the owner came back and said our cheapest tyre is £67 she said i dont want to pay that much , never mind her childrens safety eh !
I think it also depends on the car you drive. I have an old W124 sedan and it is only driven in summer when its not raining or wet outside. Nearly every tire „grips“ on dry surface and it’s not a racecar so i don‘t think some pilot sports would make any difference to my cheap nankangs. Good video tho👍🏼
If you want the best you go for the name brands like Michelin and Continental. If you're buying tyres for grandma's Corolla that she uses 2x a week to go to the grocery store a mile down the road at 30mph, a set of Westlakes or Linglongs should be fine.
Cheap tires are ok if you live somewhere where you barely get any bad weather (rain, snow etc) Just watch out for pot holes and curbs because the sidewalls might be weaker (Looking at you Lionhart)

I’ve had person experience with 3 A/S tires and 2 Summer tires. Uniroyal Tiger Paw Touring, Goodyear Integrity, and Yokohama Advan Sport A/S. The Yoko’s were the most expensive A/S I’ve purchased @ $176/tire, as the other two were both sub $100/tire, all sets brand new. I never noticed much noise with the Uniroyals or Goodyears, but the belts shifted on the Goodyears after about 10k miles, they both also would slip in the rain when leaving from a stop. The Yoko’s however never gave/give me any issues in the rain, even in the snow they never really slip unless it’s covered in ice. The Summer tires were Nitto NT555 G2’s and Bridgestone Potenza’s, $100 difference per tire. I was constantly breaking traction in the NT555’s through multiple gears and couldn’t feel like I could push the car in the corners. I mounted the Potenza’s and the car hooks really well, no real issues under load, stays planted very well in the corners

3:09 that's not true. Winter tires are designed to pack snow in, because snow on snow grips better than rubber on snow. That's why mud tires suck in snow, they spin snow out rather than pack it in.

Tyre brand is far less important than tyre age, especially when it comes to winter tyres. Just buy the best tyres you can with the money youre willing and able to spend on new tyres, whats important is that you throw away those 10+ year old traffic hazards.
my favorite tires is a set of Achilles 868 all seasons. cheap out on tires is only worth it when you live and drive short range , and easy weather condition all year long...
I like to check customer reviews and tire reviews before i buy a tire, if i have time. Better to know what to expect from a tire up front, and good traction is a plus for me.
What about foreign tires co. made in Thailand and Indonesia; that are owned by Good Year, Michellin, and BF Goodrich? These tires go by $60 to 100 each with 50k to 70k warranty.
If you're looking for a used AWD car like subaru or audi then mismatched tyres and not evenly worn are huge red flags. with most AWD cars will mention in the manual that you need to replace all 4 at the same time. You can't do 2 at a time to save money like RWD or FWD
Absolutely all the advice I see says to spend more on tires, but you know what? I don’t care. Life is expensive and cheap tires have worked fine for me thus far. Maybe after I get caught up on other expenses I will one day enjoy the benefits of nice tires.
Vercelli Strasa II...What truly is the difference compare to a Ultra High Performance tire from Nitto, Toyota, Michelin, etc? Most people buying tires aren't going to track often anyway. If you can rate the noise similar to tire rack site what number you think these fall under out of 10? I am puzzled, are Michelin Pilot Sport AS & Continental Extreme Contact DS06 worth the +$700 price tag for a set in comparison? Spec sheet it's nearly the same
I'm not saying to go all out but you should get a relatively decent set of wheels. Aside from all the other benefits, your tires are the only thing between you and the ground.
I am thinking about getting some ( Nokian One H/T tires ) for my truck. Reviews seem good, and it seems like a quality tire. Was considering name brand tire, but can't find what i want. Lately, it seems lots of tires are at 50,000 mile warranty, but that keeps you coming back too soon for more. I prefer 65k to 70k tire. I found out the best time of year to get best deals on tire is October and April.
@mattdudley3789 I agree. I bought a 4 set of Nokian One H/T tires for my truck some months ago, 265/75/16. They were kinda of stiff and bouncy at first, but after driving them a few hundred miles they ran better. Overall, i like them now. They are sturdy and stable.
I owned a N/A 2014 VW Jetta and drove around on cheap all season tires and thought they were great until I purchased my 2020 civic SI with the summer tire package. Bruh my life was changed lol. I then went to a set of Yokohama tires the following summer and now I’m looking to try yet another brand and even get some lighter wheels. 😁
I have add so maybe I misunderstood but did he basically say good tires high performance tires are more expensive because car enthusiasts will pay for the brand and performance?
I get it if you’re going to the track every week but I’m commuting 2 times a week and use my motorcycle 8 months out of the year and I drive like grandpa. I’m going with cheap rags.
I used to put cheap tyres, a few years ago I found a place where I can get Dunlops DZ102, they are the worst of the UHPS, only after the Ecsta, Bridgestone G-Force and the Firestone Indy500, amazing Dunlops for the relation price/performance

What about foreign tires co. made in Thailand and Indonesia; that are owned by Good Year, Michellin, and BF Goodrich? These tires go by $60 to 100 each with 50k to 70k warranty.
Yes, for drift use only, on a slow car
Or for learning how to drive a car on the limit on the rosd (without that limit being crazy high)
👏👏👏 -Edgar
Let's say Continental have done very well out of me... even my mountain bike has Continental tyres.
Nokian is a name brand with a quality standard equal to any of the name brands you know of
@mattdudley3789 I agree.
Cheap all seasons for practice is really good, it will help you develop better car control instead of just being on rails.
🙌🙌🙌 -Edgar
Indy 500’s are fucking 👌🏼
@@169abr unless you're pushing hard in which case any of the 200TW tyres will likely be better. Indy 500s/RE003s heatsoak

Just got a set of Yokohama Advan+ A/S, a lot better of a tire then the Goodyear eagles that came on my car stock
ive been using pilot sport 4s but have been interested in what the pilot sport 5 is like
Honestly I’m surprised no company has made stance boi tires where the inside tread is like a 11-13/32nd tread
I just went from nankangs $330 per set to Goodyears $800 per set (I paid 600 😊)and yes the mo money less problems is real. smooth, quiet and great wet traction. 245/35/20
🤝🤝🤝 glad to hear that homie! -Edgar
Next week I am going to purchase a set of tires that will fit on my enkei PF09s. Then the following week Tein Coilovers and hopefully I can have them all installed before Automotion.

@@FitmentIndustries Don't worry I will. I am sure you have seen my car around. I was parked in the outside V.I.P. at the season opener down in West Bend.
Go one step wider with the cheap tire for a bit of extra grip.
Depends on use case . If your stancing a nissan cube by all means go cheap . Or do you need cheap miata track day stickies? . I have e load grabber x3 Mt on the truck and cup2's on the car .
No. Especially if you have a RWD V8. Tires are the one part you DO NOT go cheap on.
So what would be a price range to allocate for decent to premium tires? Is it okay to have a premium pair in storage and then a winter/summer / all season pair and just alternate when necessary?
You should be fine yes! Climate control would make a difference too, but not always necessary. -Edgar
I seen the video on the most affordable tires and I think i may be interested in a set. Do I have to purchase them from you when I’m ready, or where ever I can find them?
We have our priced very competitively. But we do price match if you find them cheaper somewhere else!
I want great rain/summer tires for Florida, any suggestions? Don't want all season tires. Thank you for your help.
I would run some Toyo Proxes Sport, here’s a link! -Edgar

Cheap tires are great for just commuting.
You explained nothing, because no comparison, only opinions. “Cheap” means how much spent or make and design of tire? I have both $1000 set and $300 set, both do similar jobs, one was on sale. So they aren’t fair comparison but I could make sales by keeping it vague…..
I mean the channel does exist to sell their stuff
@@christopherjohnston6343 oh I know, but then don’t set us up like it’s informative, we’re not all that slow. I’m a customer btw, planning on another setup from them too, but honestly
@@angeloah most of Fitment industries stuff is extremely vague
Conclusion: Don't
I have a 05 Honda Civic sedan is no reason why I would spend more than $90 for brand new tires treadlife is important to me more than grip witch is already plentiful
I got a set of good cheap tires for the price of one because the guy totaled his car. Great for just getting around town
Thats.. a big brain move but hey! If they work, they work. -Edgar
If you’re not an enthusiast, stick to those good brands from Europe, USA, Japan, Korea and you’ll be alright.
Allow me to pass on some sage wisdom from the south.
Never be cheap when it comes to things that connect you to the ground.
Beds, shoes, tires. You'll always regret it.
Love this wisdom. So true 🙏🏽 -Edgar
Would you consider falken and delinte cheap tires ? What is cheap for a set $400 ? I cheap out on my daily tires on my 18 370z nismo and when summer hits I out r888 on em.
I'd say Falkens are a great brand, Delinte is a good budget tire so all depends what you're trying to do! -Edgar
Curious to know if anyone as tried the Cooper Zeon RS3-G1?
And if any of you are considering Hercules Avalanche RT for winter tire all I can tell you is RUN. Worst tire I've had in a long time. They came with the car so I gave it a try but I knew early on that I needed a new set for next year...
i did buy some chinese tyres it was ok for normal drive but when you go fast you are all over the place and my car have only 110Kw of power ant that is nothing
how little or slow do you drive your car that you get that much mileage out of your tyres? i go through a set every 2, 2.5 years!
Depends how many burnouts you're hitting or if you're doing more highway driving! -Edgar
I got myself some "cheapo" (atleast i thought so) tires from CST, all season tires, and I must say, they were actually cheap, but damn do they ride well. Yeah they do have a bit more road noise as they are all seasons of course, but the performance of em is surprisingly awesome. Well, CST is a subbrand from MAXXIS, so no wonder they know a thing or two about making tires. Didnt know that until now :D
The secret sauce is either garlic aioli, thousand Island dressing, or spicy mayo.
I'll take the garlic aioli or the spicy mayo. 🤝🤝🤝 -Edgar
@@FitmentIndustries y'all have good taste in wheels tires and sauces
if there only purpose is to be used in burnout competitions then they can be cheapio tires
Burnout comps and anything related with that is different for sure! good daily and tracking, good tires. -Edgar
Idk if my little honda could handle better tires lol. I'm on achilles rtr. And unless I'm really trying to do a burnout I just get a slight squeal and chirp second. (Natural camber from lowering I believe -5 degrees)
Depends if you like going round corners fast
@@christopherjohnston6343 haven't found the limit yet🤷♂️. Taking 90° turns at 50. Getting off the interstate doin 95 sometimes. I've been trying to find the limit
Two things I'll never cheap out on are brake pads and tires.
The 2 big things keeping you truly rolling. 😅😅😅 -Edgar
Don't 4 get rotors. And a good oil n wax coating under urr ride. I see more autos scrapped cause of rust that can easily be stopped with very lil time and work.
Those Nitto 555 are fantastic tires.

This is like the Donut channel only more honest and informative.
Hate on Florida but who doesn't have to garage there car during the winter 🌴
I like Michelin PS 4 A/S
I get lost with all the different tyre brands available. You have the top tier brands, then their secondary brands from the same company...etc. so confusing which ones are from legit representable companies and which are unknowns
is westlake tires consider bad tires
I can’t find any 295/50/16 anywhere any help would be appreciated. I’ve even phoned manufacturers and got nothing.
Did you look on Google, cause I see lots of places selling that tire size.
Well known brand make a tire expensive.
no. just no. tyres are the last,LAST thing everyone should ever cheap out on.
