Triplanar Modeling in Houdini 18.5

  • TriPlanar techniques are mostly used in texturing. But with Houdini 18.5 you can now use TriPlanar techniques to model or in other words use textures to model geometry.

    is it just me or was that infinitely easier to do in houdini than c4d? Is this the reward for getting over the houdini learning curve lolll

      I didnt even know this is possible in C4D honestly. Houdini is insanely powerful though and rewarding once you start understanding it

      @@InsideTheMindSpace I really wanna get into it, but have less than a year experience with c4d and redshift, do you think mastering c4d first is necessary?

      @@nathanbayne3576 Absolutely not. To be completely honest in some ways you are better off not having any knowledge of traditional techniques when working procedurally. I find that sometimes i need to force myself to forget about traditional techniques to solve procedural problems.

      @@nathanbayne3576 Once you get into it and understand Houdini it will save you a ton of time. But don't force yourself to do everything procedural either. Getting things done the fastest at the highest quality is the goal.
