Just requested one yesterday for my XR6 Turbo after watching this video; this is the reply I got on 27th November 2023: " Please note that due to system upgrades Ford Motor Company is unable to provide verification letters until further notice"
@@theslowedreverbchannel9748 Wow it must a big upgrade seem as it's taken them 1 year so far. 20/01/24 I have just requested mine so we'll see what happens.
Especially if that department is in Melbourne which is currently in lockdown. :) Though to be fair to Ford, evidently the reports aren't a super secret thing - the "Old Vehicle Report" section is the first thing that comes up on Ford Australia web site's "Contact Us" page, where they encourage people to email them.
FYI: I've been able to confirm the "Total Build" number. "19198" is the total build number of BA MkII **XR** Sedans - so that's the total of all XR6, XR6T *AND* XR8 sedans built.
I just wanted to say to you Shaun, this is such an underrated channel. The amount of effort that you put in to making these videos entertaining, yet informative is incredible. How you are able to work a full-time job and do this on the side is amazing; I and everyone else here I'm sure can tell how hard you work bringing amazing content to the masses. I've been a subscriber for a while now and only recently bought my first car. It's nothing incredible, just a 2013 Ford Focus Sport but I sure do love it and as it is a Ford it has prompted me to watch your channel more and more. I wish every Australian originated car could be in your care as they'll all look immaculate. I'm only 17 years old but wish I could own an XR6 Turbo BA Falcon, however due to high powered vehicle laws for P plates in SA it's not going to happen anytime soon. I don't have any interest in hooning or doing anything illegal, it would just be great to have a piece of Ford Australia's history in the driveway. Would be interesting to set up a Google spreadsheet that everyone can edit so they can add details off their own verification letter, so we can figure out all the available options, paints, trims, etc.
Nice! The BA-BF range is my favourite modern Falcon shape, especially the bonnet buldge on the BOSS V8s - that along with the BOSS decals was like Ford finally bringing back the coolness that the likes of the XY GT shaker had or the XB bonnet vents etc.. I remember the first time I saw a BA XR8 with GT stripes in 2003, my reaction was 🤤🤤🤤 and a few years later I bought my own... now 17.5 years later and I am still obsessed with this model. I can't wait to get a verification letter for my 2008 BFII XR8 in silhouette - I'm in love with this car and I've owned BA XR8, BF XR6 Turbo and FG XR8 in the past. It's probably the only model I have never gotten bored of, hence I just bought another low km one as per my profile pic.. 🤤😍🤤😍 I also love the limited edition body kit with the grey inserts that came in 2008 XRs- it looks awesome with the black car... I plan to keep this one forever

Another great video Sean. I bet every man and his dog who owns a Ford will do this. Holden have a similar service but they don't go into detail on how many were made with options bought at that period. Hopefully you'll do your other Fords. Owners tend to forget that carmakers such as Ford & Holden mass produce cars. They are not bespoke built like Rolls-Royce or Aston-Martin. So Sean even though yours is one of one, it's the options available at that time that were chosen to have made it one of one.
A bit of info about the VIN of late model Australian Fords from around 1990 and later (I haven't checked older cars). Falcons and Fairmonts sedans have SW for short wheelbase, Fairlanes and wagons have LW for long wheelbase, Ute's have CM for commercial and Territory's have AT for all terrain (their suspension didn't last very long off road as they are the same platform as the Falcon).
I got my letter a couple of years back for my XB Hardtop. It is also a 1 of 1, but it may be simply because the option list was pretty repulsive and most had better taste... brown was really popular in the 70s...
See if you can find a working VIN decoder, Ford's ETIS used to let you check your VIN which is how I confirmed my G6ET did not have the LSD option fitted when I was looking at buying it. I remember the amount of info it had was way more than I expected.
That’s actually really good to find out - nothing is better than knowing the history of your car and knowing you drive something exclusive. Definitely a keeper even more to know it’s so rare. Please do the other cars! Lol
G'day I have a one of one 2006 G8 Fairlane. With only 56,464 KMs. And lucky she is in as new condition. The paperwork is very handy especially I found for insurance reasons. Most mainstream insurance companies don't care about the build number and so on. But For me Shannon's are amazing and at present my G8 Fairlane is happily insured for an agreed value of $35,000. Which is a hell of a lot better than between $7,000/$10,000 max. So definitely everyone I'd keep that in mind especially if your Ford turns out to be a rare custom factory model. There was no difference in the insurance price per year and the excess was also the same as the extremely cheap quotes from the standard companies. All the best Ford lovers.🇦🇺👍💪
Have just sent off the email. Got a bf xr6t in bionic with blue stitch sports leather seats, luxury pack and premium sound. Keen to find out the rarity of it. Another great video as per usual mate. Cheers!
Thanks for putting this video up mate. I've always wondered how many FG FPV F6's were made so am really looking forward to getting my letter from Ford 😀
I wonder the same. The build plate (sticker) is not very informative, as they ran different numbers for utes and sedans, and reset them with the mk2. Pretty sure mk1 sedans got over 1000, and mk2 sedans got up to the 800s. I have #730, built Feb 14 about 4 months before production end, ordered to spec with manual transmission and the factory brake upgrade. Can't be many like it given the cost of those bloody brakes, but worth every dollar.
Really nice to see this being available from Ford Australia. It's a nice bit of verification to have about the car, and something I'm sure that any owner would appreciate having. On the other side of the Aussie motoring aisle, pretty sure HDT offers a similar service for authenticating the cars that rolled through their workshop back in the 80s. I know someone with a VK SS and they got a full portfolio of the archival build papers for their car.
I recently did this with my 1996 Ford EL Fairmont, apparently it's also a 1 of 1 car with the options listed. My car in question was built October 1996, is a 4.0 L six with the 4 speed auto, Regency Red metallic, grey velour interior, optional passenger airbag fitted, optional ABS fitted, pretty much every option without stepping up to a Fairmont Ghia. What makes it a 1 of 1 car is one of the options which specified that it came with anti-freeze coolant from the factory due to originating from the ACT. Really doesn't mean a whole lot to me as I've seen a couple of EL Falcons in the same colour and probably same spec as mine on the road already only after a few months. Next up is going to be my next car which I just bought today which is a 2000 Ford AU II Falcon XR8 which is fairly standard with a 5.0 L Windsor V8, 4 speed auto, painted in Liquid Silver metallic and has a black cloth interior. Wonder how many were built and how many are still around. Kind of wish I could do this for the Fords I've owned in the past however I don't own them anymore so proof of ownership will be a pain if required.
Good to see you can get this information today! I don't know how you can create such a professional quality looking video like this one as you do. Your Holden Calais video was so powerful in emotion to create tears. We need some Holden stuff back though one day (Ex VT Calais owner with VF Calais now) to give some spiritual balance to your channel. 😉
Option 1T is luxury pack which consists of the premium sound and leather trim. Grey sticking was the colour for mercury silver as the stitching was matched to car paint colour.
there was 11 of mine made. bf mk2 xr6 N/A 6 speed auto in ego mica grey with every option. not as rare but taking into account its age and having all the add on options, who knows how many are still on the road. so happy I finally got my dream car. bit sad it's an auto but that's a small price to pay
I have just requested the Vehicle Verification Letter from Ford. I am the proud owner of a 2002 Series 3 Ford Falcon AU SR in Venom Red. Loving the car. One owner from new, and came with a complete 18 year service history from Ford, and is as close to perfect as any AU I've ever come across (And I have already owned 2 of them prior to this) I even had my mechanic gushing about it when I first brought it to him for it's service. Hopefully Ford can get back to me at some point with my letter, especially now with how busy they must be.
I got one of these years ago, signed in ink pen. It is now the first page in my cars 'bible' containing full registration, service history and receipts for every cent spent since new. I cross referenced the verification stats with the many Ford books I own, the numbers were accurate. Oo===oO
I have an AU2 Xr8 Manual. Requested the letter from Ford last year. It has a 1 of 1 with the options supplied. Only 7306 built in total. The AU is increasing in value presently. My example is not flash. Planning on a restore. Good honest rust free car. Its a keeper!
Did one of these a little while ago for my November 1994 EF Futura wagon, mine is one of 204 built in the 1994-1995 model year with the same options, being Polynesian Green is what caused the number to drop massively. she's a keeper
Mines in lightning strike silver with similar options and a factory sunroof. 2nd owner purchased 2006 with 27000 ks. Live next to the beach lots of rust repair coming up !
Ahh, I should have done this with my BF MKII XR6 Turbo. It was Obsession Purple, one of the rarest optional colours. I contacted Ford and they said a total of 50 vehicles left the factory in the colour, 40 sedans and 10 utes. And I saw one of the utes not far from my house! It was the weird paint that's different under different light and angles. Purple from some view, blue from other, red from some, sometimes even looked brown like Pepsi in a bottle.
Can anyone confirm if the build plate/sticker codes below are correct? And I could not find the code for TR6060 manual. Engine Codes: H = I6 N/A Y = I6 Turbo S = I6 SF LPG Z = 5.4 V8 Transmission Codes: W = 4 Speed Auto BTR - BA A = 6 Speed Auto ZF6 - BF K = 5 Speed Manual T5 - BA MK I M = 6 Speed Manual T56 - BA MK II and BF ?? = 6 Speed Manual TR6060 - FG Model Codes: 18335 = BA MK I - XR 18435 = BA MK II - XR 18535 = BF MK I - XR 18735 = BF MK II - XR 18835 - FG MK I - XR 18135 - FG MY10 - XR 18235 - FG MKII - XR Body Codes: SW = XR Sedan CM = XR Ute
I've got a 2005 ba xr6, the total build on my Ford list was 19856, and with engine it was 14427 so I think that's probably correct don't understand the 700ish difference but who knows. Out of the 14427 ba mk2 xr6's only 995 in a manual. But my xr6 is a 1 of 2, but I agree i don't know how correct they are and I base it on colour and trim more than with options but when I did my gt cortina the first time total built was 1326 and then when I did it again due to viewing a friends I got 1449... so there will be discrepancys but it now matches all other cortina got reports of 1449, but its a cool service that's for sure

08 FG XR6T Auto Total Build: 29,072 Engine: 3721 Transmission: 2891 Paint: 113 Trim: 40 Options: 1 I'm not too sure about the total build number.. I emailed them again to clarify the numbers at the bottom and they are "getting back to me" so I hope to see if I have a 1 of 1.. I like the comment below about the online database for the BA - FGX falcons... We should get onto that !
Ah! Finally a video to give someone for all those that ask me how I got mine! Great video :) Keep it up, still loving the channel! ( I'm happy to have 1 of 1 for my particular trim level/ colour / model. )
1T was an option back in the day where they leave a few bucks in the centre console so you can go get a snag on the way home after picking up your car.
i did this a few months ago..got a au2 v8 station wagon 144 made options 4 ...17 came to newzealand (i'm a kiwi)....and a t2 ts50 47 made options 1...17 came to newzealand ... i'd say me wagons more scarce than the TS over here !
Thanks Shaun.Always look forward to your brilliant videos....So different and so cool. Both of us own an AU and an XR6 ...I'm the proud owner of a 2001 AU ll Futura in (Liquid Silver) and a 2008 FG XR6 N/A in Lightning Strike silver ..Actually she is pretty unique as being one of the very early FG XR6's built I think stamped on the compliance as 04 (April) 2008 . Already know April was the month that the FG series began production .. Definitely will be checking up on this for official verification now via the knowledge from this great vid ..I am the second owner and she's only just hit 73,000 kms as the original owner barely drove it (62,000 kms) for the first 8 years until I bought it in March 2016 and because I have the AU I've kept the kays low since then .She drives like new too and there is quite literally not a squeak or rattle anywhere and totally original and as she will stay . Just added a UHF radio and an after market GPS . Thank so much ..
Very interesting! My letter says that my EB II wagon is 1 of 1 with those specific options. It has an "unlisted option", which is the front bench seat/column auto. I'd love to see Ford's paper archives, or if they have some archaic 90s mainframe system still alive to extract these statistics and information from.
This is your best video ever mate! so informative, great presentation.. Yep im emailing them now! I have a Ba Xr6 ute and a BF Non Turb sedan in bionic. Looking forward to this. Made my day!
I need to do this,my mk2 is in the 1of 22 xr6t 6spd same colour wheels paint trim and sound system.whan I bought it of the original owner he said there was one in the country the just didnt have the leather that he wanted, ford nz got it reupholstered,I havnt seen another leather interior like it.
Guessing maybe 1T mean standard trim. Like door cards so 1T would be standard? What a nice unique car mate, good to know it’s in good hands. Iv got a standard XR6 hopefully get a XR6T this year
I wonder if this counts for both Australia and New Zealand? Ive got 2 Older Falcons that would like to find out now. a 93 Fairmont Sedan with the straight 6 4.0L With full Grey Leather Premium Tape System with the CD stacker option. Also a 92 Ford XR8 in Green with standard seats but Ive been told that the Engine had extras and a couple extras. Cant wait to find out how these turn out! As always mate love your videos. Always inciteful and enjoyable to watch. Compared to some of these other channels that are just going nuts with click bait car builds. Super annoying. 11/10
On the leather seats, my blue Magnet model does have blue sticking on the seats, to match the colour of the Xr6 stitching on the seat, and colour of the car
I published a BA Brochure video recently which had a specifications section at the end - it explained the default seat colours and also what other options you could spec. They had limitations on what colour seats you could spec depending on what colour the car was, presumably to avoid horrible combinations like green seats in a red car.
This is so cool! Makes your XR6T that little more special now! I just emailed Holden to see if they can do the same. Hopefully they're able to access those files and offer one!
I had an option not listed on one of mine too. Be great to know what they are. We bought a new BF XR6 Turbo back in the day and optioned it with green thread on the seats and it included the thread around the edge of the (leather) seats.
Ford Australia are going to get a full inbox this week Going to get my 2007 BF MK2 Fairmont Ghia & 2007 BF MK2 XR8 checked out. 19196 XR6s? Dunno that sounds pretty optimistic to me. Maybe 19196 BA Mk2 sedans and the other 30k split between Ute and Wagon? A lot of utes getting around. Dunno.
Thanks for the advice. I will definitely chase up print outs for mine. I have a Sept '04 BA XR6 and a Nov '04 BA XR8 both in the Vibe colour Code B5 so very keen to see the details on them. Cheers mate.
Did a similar thing with my old mans VE clubsport CSR8. (20 years of clubsport) 100 made 4 in his "poison ivy green". All 4 were manuals. Nowhere near as comprehensive as your report, they just hit me back with a facebook message with how many they made in that colour and transmission. Pretty cool hey! Especially the detail that Ford Australia included!
Hmmm, perhaps my Wired (copper) Territory TX is also unique? The colour choice shall make for a good start. Not many chose it. The SIDO number (pronounced 'sigh-doh' if I recall) was the order number and the key identification of the vehicle through production. If you had the right contact in Ford at the time, they could tell you which manufacturing station your car was at while it was being built!
@@MotoringBoxTV LOL! I can now confirm I have a unicorn. Only one of its kind! Wired-with-fogs-cruise-third-row-&-curtain-airbags was the winning combination.
I requested my verification letter for my FG XR6 manual a few months ago an also found I had a 1 of 1 build! Most likely just because of the specific options but still surprising to find that out.
Awesome video mate, very interesting Ford can do that.. we used to have a navy blue Series II AU Forté wagon when I was a little kid, it was actually an ex-cop car.. it would be interesting to get a verification letter about that (if that car is still registered today by current owners haha)..
I've looked through the brochure, and these were the options for the XR6T:
7"x8" 5 spoke 235/45 R17
8"x8" alloy wheels 245/40ZR18
XR Sports leather seats & Premium audio
XR Sports leather seats
XR leather seats
Sunroof
4-speed automatic transmission with sequential sports shift
Matching alloy spare wheel
Premium brakes
Power adjustable pedals
Sports steering wheel
Momo leather steering wheel
Prestige audio system with lcd display & 6 disc in dash CD
150 watt amplifier & 150 watt sub-woofer
DVD Satellite Navigator System
Prestige paint
1600lg rated (auto)/ 1200kg rated (manual) Towbar
Side airbags (head and thorax)
Reverse sensing system
Mercury Silver trim options:
Plexis Blue
Plexis Grey

Good to see you can get this information today! I don't know how you can create such a professional quality looking video like this one as you do. Your Holden Calais video was so powerful in emotion to create tears. Option 1T is luxury pack which consists of the premium sound and leather trim.
Grey sticking was the colour for mercury silver as the stitching was matched to car paint colour.
I don't believe so. The luxury pack added the full dual zone colour ICC. Mine is colour, but just single zone.
there was 11 of mine made. bf mk2 xr6 N/A 6 speed auto in ego mica grey with every option. not as rare but taking into account its age and having all the add on options, who knows how many are still on the road. so happy I finally got my dream car. bit sad it's an auto but that's a small price to pay
Only got mine today for my AU2 4Ltr Sports Pack with factory 5-speed.
1 of 1. Ordered through Ford Special Vehicles in Ferntree Gully, VIC
Excellent Sean. I didn't have my 2000 AU XR8 ute when you put this video out. Email sent to Ford, and now... I wait... 😁⏳
My BF XR6 ute was 1 of 1 with manual and Ford iDesign hardlid. Was originally sold in Werribee and I purchased it from Bendigo
My G6ET is one of 51. Nothing too exciting, but only 927 turbo variants. Makes it fun for exclusivity, but harder to find genuine parts some times.

I received my letter from Ford today. There were 10582 xr6 total. Apparently my 2014 FG Mk2 xr6t with its factory options is a one of a kind as well.
Just emailed Ford today can’t wait to hear back about my 2001 AU Series 2 Xr6 Ute
It's awesome. Hope you discover some interesting things about the car 👍

There’s a BA Mk 2 XR6 Turbo in mercury silver with the sports seats and grey XR stitching on Carsales currently (although it’s auto)!
Nice spec.
Owned 3 falcons and all originally from Q Ford springwood. Must have done a roaring trade back in the day.
I’d love to see some POV drives of your cars like on Tedward’s channel, great video as always!
Sounds fun. I haven't seen his channel but I know what you mean - I have thought about it, you just have to get the camera angle right.
Love his channel, especially m3 snow videos!
I have an FG XR50 XR6, it was a 1 year limited edition model and its a 6 speed manual, might be fairly rare

Hahah that's quite funny!
I'm positive that the SIDO number is for your dash cluster. It is there to make sure that nobody has changed it to a lower one from another car.
My AU2 Fairmont is a 1 of 178. Fairly basic, 4.0 auto with warm Charcoal and liquid silver. I would have thought it was more common!
This is your best video ever mate! so informative, great presentation.. Yep im emailing them now! I have a Ba Xr6 ute and a BF Non Turb sedan in bionic. Looking forward to this. Made my day!

Guessing maybe 1T mean standard trim. Like door cards so 1T would be standard? What a nice unique car mate, good to know it’s in good hands. Iv got a standard XR6 hopefully get a XR6T this year

11/10
Yes, if it was made in Australia they'll have the details. Thanks for watching and glad you're enjoying the channel! 👍
Mine is 2005 Ford BA MKII XR Sedan Retail Dealer 3999 - Ford Special Vehicles Ferntree Gully VIC They built only 2
Wow saying Im mind blown is an understatement I cant believe how rare your car is. 1 only built car is something you should keep til death
Time to go and read the VIN off of my XE!
I had an option not listed on one of mine too. Be great to know what they are.
We bought a new BF XR6 Turbo back in the day and optioned it with green thread on the seats and it included the thread around the edge of the (leather) seats.
Ford Australia are going to get a full inbox this week
Going to get my 2007 BF MK2 Fairmont Ghia & 2007 BF MK2 XR8 checked out.

I always thought it was pronounced that way, but the last thing I wanted was a 1000 people in the comments correcting me hahaha

Yes i think that 1T has lot to do with it, my 1980 , 351 manual ford is 1 of 44 with options.
Seen a few different letters and have found that the numbers are based on the build year. So 04 will have different build numbers to 05.
Think I better get in touch with Ford and see what they have to say about my '96 DF2 LTD. Thanks for the contact details!
You're welcome mate. Have fun 👍
I requested my verification letter for my FG XR6 manual a few months ago an also found I had a 1 of 1 build! Most likely just because of the specific options but still surprising to find that out.
Not sure why this wasn't in my subscription feed. But, as soon as I saw it I had to get in on the band-wagon.
Awesome video mate, very interesting Ford can do that.. we used to have a navy blue Series II AU Forté wagon when I was a little kid, it was actually an ex-cop car.. it would be interesting to get a verification letter about that (if that car is still registered today by current owners haha).. I think you should do a video about verification letters for your AU Fairmont Ghia and the NC Fairlane.. :)
Option 20 maybe
i can imagine the customer service inbox filling rapidly now
I hope they enjoy making them!
