You've just got to review an XR6 Turbo now, the power difference isn't even comparable. I've always loved JDM cars but after driving a 550HP XR6 Turbo I instantly fell in love
@@KiwiCarLife after having owned one of that era, I’d rather skip the oil leaks 😅 still a very sweet motor when they’re sorted. I’d still pick a Barra Turbo over the Beemer, need an M5 for similar levels of performance. Obviously the newer M5s would blow them out the water but again talking about that era.
Never thought I’d see you recommend, let alone review a Falcon. Been subbed for a little over a year now, but I think this is my first time commenting. I really enjoy all your videos on various different cars, and as a Holden fan, I hope you do a Commodore review one day 😅
I’ve owned my BA Xr6 for 2 years now drove Sydney to Wagga Wagga (4.5-5 hour drive) that’s where this car shines most. Being 20+ years old a lot of maintenance required, mine stock and that’s probably because I had so many maintenance things to do.
Had a BA MK2 XR6 for 10 years, great car, plenty of power with a few CAI & extractors exhaust mods, loved it that much I bought a FPV BA MK2 GTP 3 years ago, what a fkn weapon tuned at 346 RW HP, NEVER selling it, just on a different level with the factory 19' with brembos, the quad cam Boss V8 with Manta full 3" twin exhaust from the Genie Headers back, and quad 3.75cm tips that fkn scream from 4-6000 RPM. Great fast & good looking models the BA- BF series
Oi oi oi mate, finally got your hands on dat long kneck bear aussie mobile to review very very very nice. (You are wearing your glasses like a falcon driver LOL)
Lol good review, Ive driven a turbo BA XR6 and it went very well, however the normally aspirated ones still get off there arse, especially if you add a bogan driver mod, of which there are many here in Queensland lol.
The Falcon has a considerable advantage over the VW/Audi and BMWs of the same era - as it's not fitted with numerous German 'breaky-breaky' plastics within the hot engine bay - i.e. definitely an advantage for a car that's circa 15 years old. The car in the video is fitted with a modified air cleaner that's sited within the engine bay and therefore does not draw the cooler external air as per the original. The mod is certainly not optimal - as drawing in 'hotter' air reduces the power that could be generated by the engine.
Had an FG XT back in 2016. Got it for 10k which was pretty cheap for a 6 year old car. Had done 250,000kms as a sales rep car. The stone chips on tje bonnet were like a Braille Alphabet 😂 But it was a great car. Had no issues for 30,000kms. Great for road trips. But a bit thirsty when pushed hard. Miss having RWD sometimes haha. I.think there's a bit of bogan in all of us 😂
What a beautiful looking motor ,stunning, my pal restoring golf gti mk2 visage and escort rs, cannot beat the old cars so nostalgic, great to see videos like this , keep up great work
You know what this means now… Naturally you have to get into the Falcons enemy: the Commodore… I don’t care what year or engine. Just want to see what do you think of the commodore platform coming from an accord :)
Now you have opened a can of worms.... You going to have to do a Holden of roughly the same vintage as comparison 😂 And your never going to hear the end of it as to which one is better or worse 😊😅
nothing says bogan more than a holden driver in a holden car. ford bogans cannot compare to holden bogans witht their chevvy badges and flame sticker decals

Even a standard xr6t or g6et is awesome, 270kws of fun!
Yes. FG XR6T goes and handles very NICE!
Look past the boganism and enjoy it for what it is a Straight 6, RWD sedan with loads of torque down low 😉
Yes but I’d rather have a 530i

Back yard built. What's your daily drive? I have owned three XR6T s & not a bogan!

Yeah as with every old car it’s gonna have maintenance to do but they’re nice

No problem
I know it might be an easy answer but after driving the falcon would you rather that or one of your previous honda accord euros for everyday driving.
Definitely still the accords haha
Attrition rate high on those these days, if you want one get in now. Fuel economy is surprisingly good on the open road even if you get into it a it.
Mm lovely car
Agreed, I’ve had a couple non turbo versions and they’re good runners but day and night compared to my G6E Turbo
Finally a Australian build car 😮
Yesss
Now need to find a turbo one to give a go. Completely different experience 😎
