So therapeutic watching a good tradesman
Thanks Andrew appreciated mate 👍
Hi Justin. That made me smile watching Frazer laying mortar for the blocks. Its the spitting image of how you do it. Fair play to him.👍👍👍
🤣🤣 like father like son a doug 👍
Great tips from the master to guys like me - an enthusiastic DIY'er with no skill! Makes life so much more easy - wish we'd had TH-cam and guys like you around 50 years ago. But then, my vocabulary wouldn't have got so varied!
Glad we manage to help you Dave and always appreciate your support and comments 👍
Proper solid that wall Justin 👍🏴
Thanks Scott it aint going anywhere mate 👍🧱🧱🧱
Love a bit of flat blocks, so much easier to set 🤙🏾🤙🏾🧱👍🏽
Yes agree Steve 👍 💯 🧱🧱
2 videos with Justin on today - its like christmas!!
Father Christmas 🎅 😂😂👌
That's a beefy wall Justin, like all the tips, sagging line and tingle to bring it up and the flushing joints stopping the block courses showing through the rendering👍 Hope your helper recovers asap a man down make the rest have to work harder to make up..💪
Thanks for the comment appreciated 👍
Nice day for a bit of straightforward blocking Justin. Hope the lad is OK and back on the trowel soon. Good job lads. Regards Gareth
Hes back with us now gareth thankfully cheers for the comments appreciated 👍
Great job Justin , hope the boy is okay. Ligament damage is f**kin sore but with the right rest can be fine but be sure not to rush him back or he'll feel it for the rest of his life.
I no Tommy ive did both my achilles at the same time .Hes ok now actually thankyou mate appreciate it 👍
Normally i would enjoy the relaxing sight of someone else workings and the music. But i couldn't relax seeing you building the wall and blocking in the now redundant outside socket. 🤯🤯
Grumpy i have to laugh at your comments 🤣 😂 there's a dry sense of humour in there i think mate or is there difficult to tell on text .
Socket nothing to do with us but i spoke to mark our customer and he may get it moved although he can reach it so up to him mate 👍👌
Just my sense of humour Justin, though I'm sure you also notice how things affect your trade over everything else.🤣😂🤣
lovely video , thanks Justin
Appreciate it thanks 👍💯
Finish it with a stiff brush gives a good finish for rendering
Justin We had a tongue and groove cavity wall insulation trade marked aero board in Ireland ( it was made from polystyrene beads ) kingspan took them over . We used to use a bit of it in the hand to wipe down the block walls , it would take every little snot off the wall and leave them smooth as silk prior to plastering way better result than rubbing a trowel over them. You can still do it with the new rigid board insulation if you remove the foil covering first.
Nice tip thanks very much .
Justin 👍
Justin how do you form a pillar using 6" blocks@@brickrightbuildinglandscaping
@michaelrodgers7742
Michael lay em flat like i did just the same .lay em upright the piller will be around 40mm bigger 👍
Hi Justin
Missed your call Friday I did ring you back though ? Yeah Charlie is tops ain’t he ? We use plasterers spot stands mate and run boards through .just the right height and better to lift down than up , some nice block work their mate ❤👍
Hi John
Im slowly building up my tools .ill get the plastic spots and stands at some point.
I was flat out Friday flowpointing on my own .
Bell 🔔 u tomorrow in work john sorry had stuff going on 👍🧱🧱🧱
Good tip not jointing blockwork if its being rendered, some people jyst dont get it.The spotboard stands i use from Brickiebits are good you can get the skis for the top to take two scaffold boards so you have a platform the right height to load out on.
Yea not many leave it a flush joint for render do they. Ill look at tbe spot boards and stands you suggested cherrs Andy.
I couldn't get to supper trowel yesterday was it any good i heard Charlie one it 👍
@@brickrightbuildinglandscaping I've just put a vid up.
@bricklayersworldwithandy6277
Wicked ill have a look 👍
Great video, thank You, Just a little question: any foundation for that type of wall or it is ok without it?
Id add concrete at 450mm x min 225mm .Can add rebar if you want to 👍
Thanks for all the tips. I am trying to learn.
Could you explain what you're doing with the red bricks along the wall.
Probably just making sure the line is in the right place
Or setting up a tingle 👍
Great work lads. 👍
Quick question, would the owners have to remove the fencing to access that small drain and outdoor socket?
Yea extension was built very close to the boundary line .socket may be moved but drain is staying 👌👍
You might be old, but shifting that stuff is hard work even for young ones
What you mean old 😂😂😂😂👍
@@brickrightbuildinglandscaping you called yourself old and fat, just quoting yourself lol
@Theosplaytime
I am old and fat just kidding 😂😂👍
Nice job, helps me with my up and coming garage self build, never laid a block before, but cannot not wait to get stuck in, prep is the key I think and triple check everything as you go .... keep that line tight and take your time .... Question ? ... My garage will be 6 metre x 3.8 metre at 2.8 metre high, block on side, single skin, flat roof, would i need piers at any point ? Thank you.
Thanks troy
Id put 2 pillers in each of the side walls and one either side of the doors mate 👌
@@brickrightbuildinglandscaping Cheers pal, was going to put pillars in for the doors, so thank you for taking the time to reply, have a good un, take care !
I rolled my ankle yesterday while loading scaffolding for tomorrow, the only thing ill be doing tomorrow is spending 3-4 hrs in A&E in dublin waiting on a xray 😢
Or no nightmare i wish you all the very best 👍🧱🧱
Just about to start a project in the garden replacing wooden sleeper retaining walls with blocks laid on their sides as per your wall. Feeling slightly nervous to be honest. Will that wall be fully rendered or will it have some sort of coping stone or detail on the top? As mine is a garden wall I’m looking for a hard wearing option to cap the wall that will be resilient to people stepping onto it (I’m rendering the sides).
Coping and render simon 👍
Great work fellas. How often do you build extensions pal?
Done loads but not much these days james not to say i wouldn't build one 👍🧱🧱👌
Those lower courses must get the back stretched out for sure😬😅 great job as usual 👍👍
Definitely does Nathan bricklaying is never easy on the body mate 😂👍🧱🧱
@@brickrightbuildinglandscaping my back aches just watching it, guess you've got the muscle memory for it all tho after years of grafting away 💪👌
@LewisgardenservicesLtd
To be honest its taken its toll on me nath but i just get on with it .what else can you do mate 😉👍👍
@@brickrightbuildinglandscaping keep working smarter not harder 🤞👍
@@LewisgardenservicesLtd

@@brickrightbuildinglandscaping all good then be nice when done mate
@dannyhogi4953
Hope so its getting there now Danny 👍🧱🧱
@@brickrightbuildinglandscaping that's what we like to ear have a great week mate
@dannyhogi4953
Thanks and same to you 👍👍👌
Pretty sure There was no wall ties put in those pillars if you watch the video 🤷♂️
Wall tie in every course darren i can assure you 👍
I just don't see the point of that wall it is right next to the house wall.
Its needed it closes off the area and its going to have driveway gates ,fence inbetween pillars etc so yea in my opinion its definitely needed look a bit odd and insecure without it 👍
The new guy likes sitting down alot …. Yr not working him hard enough mate 👍😂
He's my son Craig always difficult with family but overall hes doing a good job 👍👌
I hear what you’re saying mate 👍
