Bravely done Steve! You've come a long way to embracing Bafang from the old days! As a Bafanger owning the full gamut of Bafang motors from the huge M620-160Nm, M600-120Nm and the compact M820-75Nm. Powerful, reliablIe, and less expensive.💸 It was awesome to finally see the full motor parts breakdown. Now if they only could make a casing gasket that wouldn't 💯 break when opening it for a re-greasing at 2k miles.😝 Or at least make spares to sell for the newer motors M820.😁

Currently riding a CX4, Bulls Copperhead evo AM. Love the motor, love 750 battery. Love the damn bike! Dont love the ever ticking time of warranty running out. Without dedicated parts ordering availability, like a website with diagrams/schematics and component support.
My next bike. Without a doubt, will be Bafang powered. No other manufacturer has the aftersales and after warranty support Bafang offers. No one. I wanted a Vitus E myth, but at the time, they weren't available in North America. Now, it is not available at all. So, it shall be framed by an E82 or Markhor(very MonDraker like).
Sure. DJI, Pinion, and ZF are all on the horizon. But, despite all the wow, where is the age-old demand? Which is repair support, which means resale value, which means overall value in your product. Ultimately, loyalty.

( I've been retired for a few years TBH) The automated machinery looked very familiar and similar. We shipped most of the non-automated jobs to Juarez Mexico a while back though...I have a BBSHD on a bike I built years ago and my son has a M600? on his Motobecane full suspension EMTB that is several years old and lives in the Arizona desert.. Only the control display has failed on the Motobecane...I have to say that I don't like the way power is delivered on the BBSHD but it is fine ( and powerful) for non-trail use. I like the Tongsheng torque sensor mid-motor better for DIY off road use even though it has less power and tiny brittle wires....My wife also rides an E-bike on the street with a bafang hub motor with zero problems.

But the BOSCH marketing is not so user friendly, no compatibility for Range extender Power More 250 ore TRP or DI2 Shifting with my Motor from 2022 - so sad.
Bafang has no Designer for Motors? And you can´t compare the software with Bosch Software? Never see such comparisons! No Range extender? No nice Bikes? No reseller in Europe?
Maybe they can make than Adapters für the other Motors, to replace defect Shimano ore Bosch Motors after Warranty with Bafang systems? Maybe there is coming a big Market for that soon, but where to buy? Website with many Blabla, i believe that you can build a good Motor! But where to by, where to pay, how to have fun? ;)

I have an M620 motor and in its stock form it was really loud and so I split the case and took out the meager amount of white lithium that was in it and replaced it with a heaping tablespoon of John Deere Cornhead grease and it now is virtually silent all but under full power there is a bit of a whir. I would recommend it highly for any motor with steel gears especially.

I have had multiple the Bafang motors from the M620, M 600, M 510 and most recently M560. In general, they have very poor waterproofing, lots of power and the controllers leave a lot to be desired. So far the best is the M 600 with the Luna Ludacris controller. This takes the motor within range of the Bosch or Shimano for smoth power delivery however still not as good. But it does give you a lot more power. However, for all this power, you have to bring a bigger battery. I had the original issue M560 which had very loud gearing and the overrun was literally dangerous. One time it launched me from almost a standstill 4 m forward. After that, I took the motor off it went back to the M 600. And I had three of the early issue M560s so this wasn’t a one off. They were all the same lousy controller.
At see Honor they had the latest issue of the M560 which was quieter and performed significantly better. I am hopeful that this will be the motor of the future. The M510 is a nice motor, but I have never had it put out much power. The other issue with the Bafang motors is the lack of good frames. They finally have one coming out called me E 82 however, the seat tube is crazy high. I think the large is 490 and the X large is 520 mm. I don’t know what kind of a dropper you can get on this, unless your legs are very long. I know it’s way too high for me. So for now I’m riding mostly Bosch. I have big Crestline RH4 with the Bosch race, which is an absolutely awesome bike. I think the chain stays are a little bit long and the BB is a little bit low for my rocky trails, but at present, there’s no way to get everything. It’ll be a very interesting to see how long it takes to get the new DJI and ZF motors into production.
I also want to mention all the talk about throttle bikes, being illegal, etc. we always carry the throttle in our backpack when in the backcountry on a Bafang motor bike because if you get an injury to a leg or even an arm, having that throttle can be a lifesaver to get you home.
