I just found out that a couple years ago Carlson's legal defence and a District judge said Carlson " can't be literally believed."
A Federal Judge and Fox's own lawyers in defending Carlson against accusations of slander said, " tou can't expect to literally believe the words that come out of his mouth."

I went to elementary school with a a kid that always said that “halloween makes god sad” and that was the devil’s holiday. His parents would always take him out of school on the day of the halloween party lol
He needed education, Halloween means "All Hallows Eve " which is the day before "All Souls Day (or ) All Saints Day" on November 1st to celebrate those who have gone to heaven in the last year.

Are you kidding me? I remember as a kid looking forward to Halloween, the costumes, and trick or treating. We were so exited for the parties and or candy. It was so exciting! It is one of the few things we looked forward to.

My spouse was an elementary school principal. About 20 years ago she changed holloween to Harvest Day. Brought in farmers, had theme story tellers and musicians, even a wagon ride pulled by a tractor. No costumes for kids. She got major pushback initially but after the first year kids and parents enjoyed it.
Our school district doesn't do Halloween either. But they do "favorite book character," or "pajama day," etc, to still let the kids dress up, and it just so happens to occur around the 31st. 😄

I had a friend who wouldn't let her kids go trick-or-treating cuz it was "evil" and wouldn't let her them read or watch Harry Potter for same. Her son spent an entire year at home on the couch because he couldn't keep food down and the doctors couldn't figure out what was wrong with him. Turns out it was STRESS. He was like 12.

Out here in Seattle schools have forbidden Halloween for 20 or 30 yrs so as not to offend Christian groups that don't celebrate holidays. My sister who was an elementary school librarian got around it by declaring "dress as a book character day" Voila. Change of name, everybody got to dress up. All happy
It’s the same where I am in Oregon. Halloween costumes haven’t been allowed for years.
I'm out here too, north of Seattle. We had Fall Festivals and Harvest Festivals when my kids went to school. Costumes were accepted.
It's sad when some weird religion changes things for everyone. "No, you can't do that it offends me", but the argument doesn't work the other way, "I believe in celebrating Halloween".
Our Christian church had a trick or trunk event every year till covid. Parishioners dressed up their cars, had the candy in the open trunks and parents and kids in costumes went around the parking lot trick or treating. Everyone knew everyone so it was safe.

We used to always decorate our different departments, handing out candy. Kids from the whole city would come up to get treats. It was so wonderful! Hopefully, better days are coming. 🎃🧡

Schools for under-teens have themed activities in weeks before major holidays to encourage engagement with reading, writing, crafts etc. , and afterwards the kids write about what they did on the day.

Years ago a crazy principal at our friend's kid's school tried to "de-emphasize" (eliminate) Halloween festivities, probably due to her having a bad experience as a kid, who knows. Anyway, the parents basically said, "The hell we will!" and she backed down!

I grew up with Halloween and thought nothing of it, but I have been surprised by some people I've met in my life who really take this seriously and think it is a pagan Satanic ritual or something. I think they ought to just call it "Fall Celebration Costume Day" because it is kind of fun as a kid to dress up in a costume ... but either way it's no big loss for me.
