Hi guys, I think this one is original ... but maybe inspired by the Lunar Pilot??? If you think it's a homage to anything else, please let me know in the comments. Also, what do you think about it? Cheers!
It is reminiscent of the old cushion case chronographs of the 70s, but it doesn't seem to be a simple hommage. It looks a bit like Ben Stiller's unknown watch in 'the secret life of Walter Mitty'.
whats a 24 hr second subdial ffs?
Well, it reminds me a lot of the Camy Geneve, ref no 9104.
@@jamesblonde2271that's one of the subdials Seiko built into the VK mechaquartz movements. Most people hate it, but I don't really mind it at all.
Let's be real, most people who wear a VK mechaquartz don't actually use their chronograph for what it's supposed to be used for anyways. So a lot of the rage over the 24hr subdial is just a sheeple move because everyone else says so.
A me piu che al bulova lunar, assomiglia al tissot. Comunque mi piace lo ordinato venerdi, mi dovrebbe arrivare oggi.
That's actually refreshing to see that Pagani attempted to do some sort of an original design. I hope they keep it up with this, and also improve their Lume...I think everyone always has that to say about PD. Great review.
Cheers mate!! 👍👍
One of the things I do like with PD is their how they do the logo / branding. To many nice looking watches get wrecked because of a shitty branding. 😮
This shows PD knows how to design stunning looking watch.
Completely agree, hopefully they will use more originality like this in the future. Thanks for watching 👍👍
One of the cleanest looking PD dials I’ve seen!
I really like this one! To me it looks like a homage to the Tissot 1973 chronograph.
Yes, I can see some similarities to that one. Thanks for watching!! 👍👍
Their best watch till date , very nostalgic reminds me of citizen Ca7090
Reminds me of Omega Speedmaster Mark II case shape
That’s a great looking watch. It seems PD has the AliExpress Quartz Chrono market cornered. I hope PD takes this year to offer some more original and/or upmarket pieces. Looking forward to the full review. Thanks!
Cheers! Agree 100% ... when it comes to quartz chronos, I think PD are the go-to brand on AliEx. Would definitely be good to see them offer some more upmarket pieces ... with a matching upgrade in quality. Thanks for watching!!!
Bulova Lunar Pilot, but smaller. Actually the Lunar Pilot is too big a watch for me and this smaller homage is actually not bad. Just have to give the running second dial a black background, too.
Thank you for watching!! 👍👍
Been loving these for pagani design watch reviews, I have gone back and watched every single one. Just ordered a few now!
Thanks for your support!! 👍👍
I really love this watch. Pagani juts might be creating a new path for how to build a watch brand. Build near-replicas, then inspired homages, then originals. I've bought so many watches recently but I think I need to pick this one up too.
It's already one of my favourites from them. Thanks for watching 👍👍
I like that they got inspiration from the past with this case design from the 70. I just wished they used a different movement instead of the 24-hour subsecond
Thanks for watching mate!! 👍👍
same, 24h subdial is useless
I absolutely love this watch.. probably my favorite design from PD so far. Most likely I'll pick one up for myself. Another great video, thanks mate!✌️
Cheers mate, it's already one of my favourite Pagani Designs as well. Thanks for watching 👍👍
To me the pushers and the simpler cleaner dial make it different from the Lunar Pilot (which I just got) and the pushers and lack of contrast and color on the subdials makes it different from the Tissot 1973 Chronograph which was referenced elsewhere.
To me it reminds me of some of the Sugess chronos that they have been putting out or maybe a Dan Henry.
Thanks for watching Karl 👍👍
Great looking watch. I will keep an eye on the sales.
Sales warm up start 6 January, so you can see the sale prices from then and the sale then starts 8 January. I'll be posting some discount codes for the sale on my community page www.youtube.com/@TimeForAnotherWatch/community. Thanks for watching 👍👍
Very nice watch!! Gonna have to get one!
Thanks for watching!! 👍👍
Appreciate the transparency on the discount. Most wouldn't do that. Nice review 👍
Cheers mate, thanks for saying that. I do like to keep things transparent.
I hope for every automatic they release they also do a quartz one for a more cheaper alternative
This is quartz, it's the Seiko VK63 mechaquartz movement. Thanks for watching 👍👍
Nice review and glad to see Pagani doing some original work.
Cheers mate, definitely! Thanks for watching 👍👍
I just bought this watch. Thanks for posting. I got the Stainless Band.
Hope you enjoy it, thanks for watching!! 👍👍
I LOVE this watch and have already ordered one for myself. Speaking of originality, a Singapore-based micro brand, Soldat, released Promessa, another homage watch by itself, in 2021. The Promessa shares a striking similarity in terms of its dial design, hand color, and even the perforated rally strap to PD1782. Releasing almost three years later, PD must have been inspired to some extent by the micro brand's tonneau case watch.
Hope you enjoy it! Thanks for watching 👍👍
Nice looking watch, great review (as ever!) 👏 👏 👏
Thanks mate, that's really appreciated!! 👍👍
Very nice watch, love the vintage looks. Certainly better on the leather as its always the thing that let's pagani's down, the bracelet. Good watch for the price, like it and I'll be looking out for it in a future sale. Thanks for another great review.
Cheers mate that's really appreciated, thanks for watching 👍👍
Looks quite similar to the citizen paradex. Love it!
I like how it diesnt have a date. Gotta love the symmetry.
I think it's definitely one of those watches that looks better without a date window. Thanks for watching 👍👍
They need to chill stamping the brand name every where. Logo is more than enough !
Most watch makes have a logo or name on the dial, case, crown and clasp as well as the box. What’s your issue with it?
@@apb3251because the brand makes the watch cheap looking
@@apb3251 it would have been completely fine to put their brand name everywhere if the typography and the name itself wouldn’t be as horrible as theirs
LOGO NAME IS TOO LONG AND GIVEN THE SPACE SEEMS OVER KILL @@apb3251
@@apb3251it’s a cheap chinese watch brand. No one knows it, its not a brand you would be proud to showcase
This resembles a Seiko "Helmet" (aka "Darth Vader") chronograph 6139-7100 (which Seiko also used for the Seiko 5 "Diastar" SSA285, which I have), so I'd say it's nearly a homage to that... "nearly" because AFAIK Seiko didn't have a panda dial version. I like this look a lot, but unfortunately I feel like Pagani need to "up their game" with the quality control issues. Still a great little watch, especially since the Seiko 5 Diastar is discontinued, and good luck with a vintage 6139 -7100. Thanks for this review, as this could be a brilliant option for many.
Cheers mate, that's really appreciated. Thanks for watching!! 👍👍
I have the similar 1701 with White Meteorite style dial and the white dial Panda Tudar homage. Both are very nice and this is just different enough for me to want it also. Price is a bit high compared to what I paid for the others.
I still have the PD1701 V5 - awesome watch!! th-cam.com/video/oORzM3w17Xg/w-d-xo.html You might want to wait for the sale next week, to see if the price is more attractive for this new PD1782. The warm up starts 6 Jan, so the sale price should be available then and it will also tell you if a spend & save discount available (this doesn't get applied until you add the item to your cart, after the sale has started on 8 Jan) I'll also be adding some discount codes for the sale to my community page www.youtube.com/@TimeForAnotherWatch/community Thanks for watching!!
looks nice
Looks very much inspired by the Tissot Heritage 1973 chronograph.
Looks like a rounded off Zenith 1970, but with a different colour for the register at 6, rather than all 3 being black . Looks like it took inspiration from the 1970 to me at least 🤷♂️
Its pretty nice I want one
Thanks for watching!! 👍👍
for me, I always go for bracelet, I can change it anytime to a strap for a few bucks.
That's a good point, it's usually something I do myself in most cases. Thanks for watching 👍👍
Never had a watch from this brand but they usually look good. Seen them on Ali before
Thanks for watching 👍👍
I would love to see Pagani or Mysterious Code come out with a panda chrono that has both telemeter and pulsometer scales (other scales welcome as well!) These are actually interesting functions and allow a watch to be a tool in different ways. Also, Eastern Arabic dials would be amazing. You would really open up a whole new market because there arent many out there.
Pagani Design and Mysterious Code are really prolific, so it's probably only a matter of time before they bring such watches out. I'm almost sure that MC have already made a watch with Eastern Arabic numerals?? If I see it again, I'll post the link for you. Thanks for watching 👍👍
@TimeForAnotherWatch yes MC have, I purchased it for my wife. They need more though, especially in smaller sizes etc.
Very nice watch, but the name Pagani Design printed on the watch face is an automatic no go. If they would go with just the logo I would buy it
I'm waiting for my white dial + bracelet version to arrive today, I got it discounted around $45 (Talk about great value), After seeing actual photos of the 1782 on its reviews, I was immediately sold, still can't believe that this watch has a sapphire crystal, an almost original design, a solid bracelet, and a Seiko VK63 for less than $50. For context, I also have a Seiko SBTR chrono that also has the same movement, hardlex crystal, and a folded bracelet, which costed me roughly $120.
How did you buy it for 45$??
@@preetambeeravelli4258 I bought it at an Alix equivalent in my country (Philippines), had some discount vouchers lying around, and applied it to this specific Pagani model, it just arrived now, really good watch for the price.
Quite nice, excellent review
Thanks!
It looks a bit like Omega vintage Seamaster chrono but it resembles more watches to my opinion. But you could say it has somewhat original look. Nice review.
Definitely a similar shape case. Thanks for watching 👍👍
That's a pretty good looking watch.
Nice looking watch. I did a quick search an I found a watch that looks similar, at least the case shape does. a Zodiac Grandrally
Ah yes, I can see a similarity with the case shape. Thanks for watching Alex 👍👍
Dammit I really feel the itch for a quartz chrono and now I have to decide between this, the 1644, the 1707 or the 1713 (Red sapphire bezel version) 🤔...
Tough choice! Thanks for watching 👍👍
Nice looking watch. I would buy it if they stop signing it under logo on the dial. Just logo would look much better, same as berny did woth their rail watch..
I think there's a lot of people who would agree with you on that. Thanks for watching 👍👍
No date!👏🏼
Well done brother!!
Cheers mate!! 👍👍
3rd watch I know of from Pagani claiming original design. I've had my eye on this for a few weeks. But I was waiting for reviews. Pagani Design could easily move from homage brand to original brand, just sort that lume out. 🤷♂️
In the past, their original designs weren't all that great but I think they got it right with this one. But, definitely...they need to improve their lume. Thanks for watching 👍👍
Cool looking watch, but it reminds me of the Zodiac Grand Rally which cops it’s looks from ‘70’s Heuer chronographs
Yes, I can see the similarity in the case shape. Thanks for watching 👍👍
They need to remove that meter-long brand name from the dial!
Ciekawy model, solidnie wykonany, jak go można zakupić, jest już w sprzedaży?
It's already available for sale. There's a link in the video description, just click on "more" or "show more" under the video title. The price be lowered tomorrow, when it goes on sale. Thanks for watching 👍👍
Nice watch
Cheers!
This watch resembles the Tissot Heritage 1973, but I don't consider it an homage
I think you're right, it just takes inspiration from early 1970s chronographs. Thanks for watching 👍👍
THANK YOU for apparently being the ONLY youtuber, who realizes the similarity to the Bulova Loonie!
Since that Bulova is itself just a quartz homage to the original automatic, why spend all that money, especially with the "collectible" edition with the special cardboard box costing USD800 or so, when this Pagani is MUCH wrist friendlier and only costs about 1/10th of the faked, big, fat, overpriced Bulova Loonie
Thanks for watching!! 👍👍
From Pagani's listing to your video yours almost appears Cream in colour, can you confirm the dial colour in the flesh please?
Off-white / cream with some silver hints at an angle. It's definitely not stark white.
a fan of the PD value but those reflective crystals really kill it. I have the Paul Newman Daytona homage which I've purchased many times as gifts in both white and black dial. That one has almost no reflection/glare on the crystal which really does 99% of the work in making it look expensive. But PD is not consistent with this. Some have way too much glare and I immediately send back so I'll only buy on Ali or direct from PD the ones that I know really nail the anti reflection crystals ahead of time.
I agree, the PD1676 (PN homage) has the best crystal that I've ever seen on a PD. I covered it in one of my haul videos, watch #6 th-cam.com/video/BtxpJUXhti8/w-d-xo.html & I've kept it in my own personal collection. I've compared it side-by-side with this new PD1782 and the AR on the PD1676 IS better but ... the PD1782 is not that far behind. The PD1676, PD1701 V5 and this PD1782 have the best crystals that I've seen from PD so far. Thanks for watching!!
@TimeForAnotherWatch do you know if 1701 V5 (Speedmaster homage) Only comes in that white dial with the red rocket hands? I kind like the Pepsi variant (black dial) but not if the crystal is reflective. Any reflection on a black dial just makes it 10 times more reflective than a white dial.
@@porscheoscar I've seen it in several versions 1) white dial with black, red or pepsi bezel 2) white dial with blue bezel & blue sub-dial hands 3) black dial with pepsi bezel. I've only owned the white dial version of the V5, so I can't comment on the amount of reflection that the black dial version produces.
I initially wanted to get this but thr legiblity isn't that good so i bought a timex marlin chrono in silver and green 😅
Nice pickup! I don't find the legibility that bad on the PD1782. I've definitely had chronos with worse legibility. Thanks for watching 👍👍
Lovely watch. Pagani Design continue to produce well built watches. Is it original? Don't know? But at this price for specs. Does it matter. Not to me. Good stuff.
Cheers, Al!
Cheers Angel! I think it is mostly original but it takes general inspiration from 1970s chronographs. Thanks for watching mate 👍👍
This one is begging for a salmon dial. I'll wait for a price drop but sure thing is a good-looking watch. Thanks for the review
Cheers, you're very welcome. It might be cheaper next week during the AliExpress winter sale which starts Monday. Thanks for watching 👍👍
This looks like a tissot Vintage chronograp.
I've been avoiding Pagani Design because of QC issues and dishonest image renderings of their watches... we'll see if I fall for this one!
It's always better to wait for real life shots, rather than buying from renderings. This one actually looks better IRL! Thanks for watching 👍👍
Great review, shame about the lume.
Cheers mate, the lume is typical PD 😊 Thanks for watching 👍👍
It looks good but reading the minutes is not good on subdial
Thanks for watching!! 👍👍
Mi piacciono i cronografi ne possiedo 2, meccanici a carica manuale.
My understanding is that the VK63 is made by either Seiko Instruments Inc. (SII) or Time Module (TMI) and both of them are companies within the Seiko group of companies. Thanks for watching!! 👍👍
Didn’t notice the 6 o’clock sub dial, why is that not a contrasting colour?
Don’t like the brand name across the design, rather just have the logo
I think the 6 o'clock subdial is just a styling decision. I quite like it, for the sake of variety. Thanks for watching 👍👍
it is tissot vintage chronograph copy
I came here from AliX reviews
Welcome!
I can't wrap my mind around why should this watch be so thick
It must be a deliberate styling decision, as it could have been thinner with a quartz movement. Thanks for watching 👍👍
Con correa color marrón seria mejor....
Looks like a zodiac grandrally.
Rule no.1... always buy the bracelet.
I agree...99% of the time! Thanks for watching 👍👍
It’s not really original. It’s a homage to a Tissot chrono
I think it's in the style of early 1970s chronos in general, rather than being a homage to one watch in particular. Thanks for watching 👍👍
@@TimeForAnotherWatch agreed actually
Its an almost straight rip from Tissot 1973 Heritage Chronograph. Not original at all.
Sorry but I have to disagree. There are some similarities but just as many differences as well. Thanks for watching 👍👍
Why in the world are they persisting with their brand name on the watch ? it's beyond me. They would sell tons more if they'd stick with the logo.
It's strange, they dropped their brand name on dials for a while and then bought it back again 🤷♂️ Thanks for watching 👍👍
@@TimeForAnotherWatch yes like Berny...I would gladly pay an extra for this option.
Quartz, meh
I like to have both quartz and mechanical watches in my collection. Thanks for watching 👍👍
