    Had one of these a few months back, same broken pipe. I ended taking dpf off and cleaned it with Wynnes dpf cleaner over a couple of days. Worked a treat.

    Proves a lot of dpf ‘specialists’ just know how to hit force regeneration on their scanner. Aren’t those engines a combined thing with Renault or am I dreaming, if so maybe looking under that might have given more live data 🤔 great job sorting it

    • @kevinbaird7277
      @kevinbaird7277 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Your correct, the engine is a Renault engine with the code K9K, this engine is in so many cars, very good solid performer.

    I'm a low milage driver. About 10,000 Km a year.
    I now make sure I do a 40 to 50 Km return motorway driving at least once a month with ROM at 18,000 min. Even if I have to drop to 4th gear to do so.

    60k Miles in 13 years thats the reason why it is struggeling. These persona need a petrol car Not a Diesel

    • @Cheepchipsable
      @Cheepchipsable ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Probably, but it's hard to appreciate the differences when there is no information and dealers don't tell people anything when they buy cars.

    • @davidmehlhorn726
      @davidmehlhorn726 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      I’ve the same car, same age but with 330,000kms on it and no issues with the dpf. However I do long runs (eg work commute is 80km round trip) and no city driving. That’s what diesels are best at.

    • @davidmehlhorn726
      @davidmehlhorn726 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      That broken pipe is a common fault. It breaks every 2-3 years on my Qashqai. I carry a spare in the car so I can change it when, not if the current one breaks. It’s a simple five minute job but the car will go into limp mode and eventually stop completely until that pipe is replaced

    • @MrZimmaframe
      @MrZimmaframe ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That's not really an excuse tbh, I had a Kia with 54k miles on the clock, 9 years old, and drove fine, no dpf issues.
      The issue as Jimmy said with this one was the broken pipe. Any engine dpf or not which isn't getting the proper air to fuel mixture will get soot build up, and isn't good for the engine.

    • @davidmehlhorn726
      @davidmehlhorn726 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@MrZimmaframe I disagree. Diesels are designed for long distance runs, not short hops to the shop. Buy a petrol car if you regularly do short runs.

    Had a laguna last week with the same problem. Check the injector that's bolted to the back of the turbo housing. More than likely it's blocked solid. Won't let the dpf regeneration happen

    • @barrycoleman4686

      @ORileysAutos I know the pipe you're on about. Small narrow pressure one. This is basically an injector. Fed by small pump over the the top of the starter. Pipe runs around side of the head. The 5th injector some people call it

  • @Stoney3K
    @Stoney3K ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Nice work! That gives me a lot of hope for my V50 with the 1.5TDCi, which has a blocked DPF due to a stuck injector which was dumping loads of fuel down the tailpipe. I replaced the faulty injector but even though it can start and run fine for about a minute, it will cut out after that when the DPF warms up, and the turbo won't spool. Pressure sensor reads 800+ mbar so I'm pretty convinced it is blocked.

    Hiya, got a 2014 Nissan with the turbo whining loud and smoke from exhaust. I’ve been told the turbo has failed and that is due to blocked dpf. But the car has no fault codes showing on the display. Would you suggest the the garage is correct and the dpf is blocked or can a turbo fail without the dpf blocked? Any advise I’ll be appreciated many thanks

    saw a lot of your very helpful videos (incl one on a Tucson). 2016 Hyundai Tucson 1.7 CRDI with 40K miles on the clock. Unfortunately started getting intermittent Exhaust system fault and noticed diesel increasing the oil level pretty quick (when I say quick it is from mid to over Full after less than 20miles). Was told that the car is attempting a lot of frequent regeneration cycles. There's evidence of soot in the tail pipe and idle pressure is reading around 1mb, and only around 20mb under load, which apparently was told is not correct. Mechanic diagnosed that the DPF is therefore busted and there's no chance of cleaning meaning the only way is dpf replacement. It is apparently a common issue with Hyundai/KIA due to a temperature surge. What's your take on this? Unfortunately there's no real driving space here, thus passive regeneration is very very limited. It is possibly only a dpf issue, how can so much diesel end up in the oil after only 20miles driving?

    • @claytonfarrugia9809
      @claytonfarrugia9809 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      to add that prior to replacing the oil, 2 forced regens were done, to no avail as the intermittent exhaust system fault popping up once in a while prior to realising I was having so much diesel-oil contamination that I stopped driving the car.
