Since it's a Space Hulk, it's multiple ships mashed together. I had hoped for some xenos ship interiors for some of the Kill Team Gallowdark stuff. Maybe some Tau or Necron interiors, Ork stuff, or some Chaos influenced ships
They did it this way, so a non 40K player would have everything they need to play a 500 point 40K boarding action game. A sneaky way to grow their 40K base.
Just wanted to say that the Heavy keyword on the Deathmarks is actually worse than what you said it was. Cumbersome is the word you were thinking of, where you can't move more than 6" or 3Circle and shoot. Heavy is you can only take a dash action and shoot, it says "can't take a move, fall back, or charge in the same activation which it shoots this weapon." Also Kroot Hounds actually can pick up objectives with their special action, and it kind of the whole draw to use them. They get a crazy 8" move and can pick up for free during that movement. Perfect for keeping in the back to snatch something up just before the enemy gets it. Great video, Jay!
I don’t know how they would pull it off, but I was hoping for the four boxes to have different styles to it, but still be able to be connected together so you could have a part Imperial and part, let’s say, Eldar or Necron.
Jay, love your videos, love the channel. I used your silly putty trick to mask off some white pauldrons it worked great. However, I left the putty on too long (like a month) and I stained my white pink. Lesson learned lol
The issue for me is that if they sell the figures themselves separately, that they need to make the rules available either in the new box or free online. If you wanted last years kill teams without the boxed set, you had to track down their rules separately.
My LGS called me while was holding my phone, thinking about calling them, because i was watching your video knowing that i had asked them to preorder it for me, and they called me and said it was in. 😀So i have it now and it's very cool.
Jay:"Maybe because only having six operatives that can do things would be to low" Custodes, legionaries, Phobos strike team, and every other elite kill team: bruh
I was expecting some of the sprues to be the same, but I am disappointed that only one sprue was different. I think I would have been happier if 2 or 3 sprues were different.
Well, you actually can't shoot with dethmark after deploying him for dimensional translocation. Because it says "that operative is treated as having performed a normal move action". And shooting with heavy weapon after the normal move is prohibited. It doesn't matter, how much distance that move actually was.
I played my wyrmblade against the karskin last night and got completely crushed. The "elite points" ability that let's them modify shooting and attack rolls got me really salty, it seemed incredibly broken.
I'm hoping they did the first two boxes matching to make boards for the 500-pt Boarding Action 40K games, and they plan to mix it up with the remaining boxes. If I had my way, we'd get one Necron set, and one Nurgley set for the second half of the year!
Can we get a 2022 kill team video of what to buy and why with the updated rules!! I use the other videos you made as a lot of reference but GW keep updating things!
15:45 that proprietary measurement shit is weird. I miss kill team when it was “yo dawg, just bring 200 points of guys and each model is it’s own unit”
I'm glad they repeated the terrain for this box, need 2 sets for new 40k option, also want next sets to match but be different, as in matches but other options / rooms. Also great they're both shooting kill teams otherwise teams would all just be used on gallowdark - limited crossover.
Since this video has come out, Shadowvaults has been removed from the GW webstore in Australia. I guess its just quietly going away. This will be the first box I've missed.
I think this release was rushed due to a perfect storm of bad time management- new Guard codex, Into the Dark was late, AND you need two sets of the space hulk terrain for the upcoming w40k "boarding actions" campaign, so people need to buy and paint it before it comes out. I love the look of both teams and I'd totally buy the box except that it still hasn't gone up for preorder yet here in Japan.....
I managed to pick up a set from a local independent gaming shop. I have mixed views. I wanted additional terrain to set up a larger Space Hulk style layout with the focus on corridors instead of rooms. But for my wallet alone it came too soon! I agree 100% that I would ultimately like to see some alien inspired corridors and rooms, whether Eldar or some gruesome biological Tyrannid terrain. I suspect that the next two sets will be further Imperial corridors in order to build a single large 40k compatible layout. Maybe some alien terrain after. And I agree as well that having it all at one level detracts from the overall spirit of Killteam. I am sure that there will be some improvisation using Necromunda and Mechanics gantries and maybe the old power generators, stacks etc as engine rooms. As for the figures, the Necrons are ok but I am not a huge Necron fan so it's a bit out of my wheelhouse to comment. Imperial Guard is probably my largest overall collection and I was pleased at the announcement until I saw the figures. Don't get me wrong, they are excellent figures and crisply moulded. But they seem to be a head taller than even the Catachan guards. I know that the original Cadians are, let's say charicatures in being slightly dumpy with oversized heads and hands. That isn't too noticeable on their own but becomes obvious when compared to other 28mm minis such as Mantic GCPS troops or Stargrave. These figures are much better proportioned but seem to be the Primaris equivalent to Imperial Guard. I have seen it suggested this is a GW reaction to the increasing number of after-market products to customise guard figures and speculation that the new Guard figures that are coming soon will also be of similar stature to the Kasrkins. If so, the existing Cadians are going to look out of place and customising between sets us going to be a problem. Plus even more recent sets like the Death Korps of Krieg are going to look oddly short by comparison. I am hoping it isn't another cynical move by GW to "persuade" fans ditch their extensive existing collections in favour of the shiny and new but the reality is that is is and always has been their M O.
I personally don't agree with the plasma pistol OR power weapon. It makes zero sense that a vet. sgt. couldn't have both. Customisability should be paramount to create "your dudes". Balance should adjust to meet that imo, not enforcing models to be unable to do logical things that basically every guard leader could do for decades in lore and in tabletop.
Honestly after playing kasrkin for a few games I can safely say that the tempestus scions are better. Elite points are cool, but the difference between a 4+bs and a 3+bs with rerolls is too great for it to matter much.
I would have welcomed the re-introduction of Stormtroopers, yet more Canadians are just ugh. Makes the universe feel super small. Had they been released earlier or later, I wouldn't have minded so much.
@@rutgaurxi7314 The thing is that these units all replaced each other in 40k and all do the exact same thing. Kasrkin (and Elysian Drop Troops) where replaced by Stormtroopers, and Stormtroopers where replaced with Scions. Still yeah Cadians are pretty much the Ultramarines of the guard.

The Necrons whilst the upgrade sprue is lovely… having a low model count compared to every other Kill Team just doesn’t do it for me They should’ve gave you 10 Immortals/Deathmarks or Necron Warriors with a slick new Upgrade Sprue.
I think GW has moved away from using inches because it's not really a measure that is used that broadly beyond the US. In the UK, although you do still have people who use inches, it's not taught in school and is generally perceived as quite old-fashioned
I think Ill get into the Dark and skip this. Id like them to do another space hulk set but with a specially designed Tyranid killteam so I can have an Alien theme going.
No? Reanimation is attempted in the ready operatives step of each turning point, and can be attempted again during the turning point by the cryptek or plasmacyte
@@minigamerjeonsofbattle9376 Sadly, it is not the case - "reanimation attempt" is defined as placing token and rolling in the ready operatives. ' I don't paint many models with light colours.'
The 5000 points of ORANGE and WHITE necrons
And his Star Wars legion imperial forces. WHITE Stromtroopers.
I would prefer the same theme, but different terrain. The way they announced they will do it.

"I don't usually paint light color" Jay who has a 5k points army of white necrons
Actually the sprues for the scatter terrain are different between boxes.
👍👍I wouldn't normally FOMO but I'm kind of tempted to get this set! Welcome to EOB, I'm Kasrkin and also Nec is here! 😃
Might be hard to get a copy there was only one wave of it and pretty much impossible to find a box.
My brother in law and I tried some kill team for the first time over the weekend. It's so much fun! I think I like it more than 40K
Jay: I don't have many light coloured models
5000 points of white necrons: ...
15000 points of black templars: All things are relative I suppose.
My thoughts exactly 😂
Great video Jay! I believe the kommando grot can also take actions and capture objectives as a little guy :)
Shadowvaults and into the dark both look great but I'm content to wait for the next gallowdark Kill-Team box if the terrain will be the same
Sadly the Deathmark can't shoot in the same turn it teleported because of the Heavy rule 😞
You should try an urban white, grey, and black shatter camo scheme.

For example "Kill team rules I always forget about" "building an army" etc. :3 btw love your videos and MMW

It's surprising that liz truss lasted longer than something!
The twin heavy bolter pretty much has the old twin linked rule. It re rolls all hits. Of the top of my head I think the rule is called ruthless
The difference between scions and karskin, is that one of them is good in kill team, the other in 40k, and you have to buy both XD
15:25 “despotek” sounds like a Cobra character from GI Joe.
The space dwarf tank looks like a GI Joe toy too come to think of it.
All of the recently teased Imperial Guard stuff has a strong GI Joe vibe to me.

The main difference with the elite teams is that everyone gets 3 apl to start with rather than only the cryptek, like in the hierotek circle

Tempestus Scions are an elite fighting force of infantry, Kasrkin are an elite fighting force of infantry from Cadia.. very very different!
the terrain should be the same flavor ice cream, but the little knick knacks and troops should be the different toppings
