i love the idea of having tonnes of kill teams, the choices you have would be awesome! this video also made me realise how great and varied a painter you are, i knew you were good before but i didnt realise the extent! great video! i also love the quote "they have eight wounds meaning they are stronger than a 7 wound model"
You should definitely look into the warp coven kill team, having 3 sorcerer in a kill team is a blast and they nailed the tzeentch randomness feel of the thousand sons in the rules!
Hard Agree, just finished painting mine today. Although i replaced my Destiny Sorcerer with a Warpflame Gunner, because 5 +2 AP-1 Torrent2"(Rerolling 1s with slow and purposeful) is just nasty when you teleport him into the right spot with the Warpfire power.
The Black Templar Reivers are absolutely beautiful. The black templars logo on their face is such a nice touch. Can’t believe I haven’t seen anybody do something like that before.
Recently gotten into Killteam. I have the Sisters Novitiates which are a blast to play, the Ork Kommandos which are a joy to paint and the Krieg which look awesome. Loving it!
I have: 1. Chaos Space Marines - Iron Warriors, mostly abandoned because my buddy plays Alpha Legion a lot and I'm not into mirror matches. My first team, initially collected for KT18 2. Raven Guard Reivers - need to make body #6 for these 3. Thousand Sons - Compendium, I just got a couple more sorcerors to make this into Warpcoven. 4. Veteran Guardsmen - 18-man Krieg Roster, my "serious"/main team. 5. Ork Kommandos - built but I have a buddy who plays Orks so I again won't play them much 6. Death Guard - I enjoyed building and painting these so much I've got a small 40k army now. 7. Commorites - mixed Wyches and Kabalites, pretty fun but also a bit too strong for friendly 8. Scions - 10 Scions now built, sometime mixed with my Krieg to play compendium guard for friendly games. 9. Wyrmblade - As with Death Guard I started collecting these for 40k off the back of my current models. 10. Custodes - need to assemble/paint. Considering doing 3-way vs my buddies with Custodes.
I've been doing this somewhat for the past couple years for one page rules (assembling multiple house squads). It's allowed me to share my new hobby with friends who aren't necessarily in the hobby as well, since they like the game. Also, once you're done with a squad, ur done with a faction and can move to the next. It keeps the modeling part of the hobby fresh and interesting, and allows me to try lots of techniques that this channel shares with us😊
'No Cover' is actually Just an OK rule, because it doesn't affect the 'Cover' within the définition of your target, it's just deleting an auto-save dice so it's Nice but not that crazy
When you have models that can die to two shots, remove a defense die can secure kills. So it is that crazy. It's just that there are equally crazy offensive tools out there that can secure hits or increase damage per hit. Which all really add up to the same thing but achieve them different ways.
Theres a vid here on the channel where he had a few drinks and painted some. Probably titled like "I do my best painting drunk" or something. I believe it was within the last year or so
As someone who gets too nervous to do the live streams (I don't know how to interact, autism) it's nice to finally see all the kill teams I was getting notifications for! My brother and I are working on kill teams for every faction we're interested in with intents to bump them up to combat patrols and then crusades.
I started out with a Necron and Death Guard Kill Teams, as I was collecting them already for big 40K. Next I started the Veteran Guardsmen team when I bought Octarius and then the Novitiates and the Pathfinders from Chalnath. I'd still like to do the WD lists for Thousand Sons and AdMech teams, too. I just love that I can collect so many different lists, without the huge investment in time and money that collecting them for big 40K will mean. 😀
I might not have 14 but lemme list all of mine: SM Infiltrator/Incursors team SM tactical squad team SM hybrid team for 2018 CSM team CSM team for 2018 Admech hybrid for 2018 Custodes guardians Krieg veterans Kasrikans for current KT and 2018 (I run them as scions) Craftworlds guardians and dire avengers Tau Firewarriors and Stealth suits. Tau hybrid team for 2018. I made two different hybrid teams of Space Marines to give to friends to play 2018 KT to get into 40k; one was yellow marines with Intercessors, Rocket Launcher, Plasma gun, and Thunder Hammer assault intercessor. The other was a tactical Squad with Lascannon, Gravgun, and Combi-melta/Powersword sergeant.
Those look awesome, amazing work! I bought my first kill team box in February (Octarius starter set) and I've painted all the Orks and half of the Kriegers so far and I'm looking forward to start playing with them!
I have a dream of printing and painting every compendium kill team So far i have heavy intercessors, csm printed, 3 out of 4 custodes, and a lot of guardsmen and Ork kommandos
Very nice collection that you have their. Were is the FAQs that add the extra bodies to various killteams? I've been looking for these but been having no luck. While I don't have anything built at the moment, my pile of shame contains the parts of various killteams that I have planned....I really need to stop being a squirel and start painting/building my pile... Teams that I was looking at...and have sitting in my pile 1 - Astartes (Custom chapter, based off of the rules for Deathwatch) 2 - Guard (Scions converted from Necromunda Enforcer/Subjugators) 3 - Veteran Guard (Octarius box) 4 - Talons (I have both Custodes / Sisters ) 5 - Sororitas (both the Sisters of Battle and the Novitiates) 6 - Corsairs 7 - Commorites 8 - Craftworlds 9 - Death Guard (This project makes me both excited and nervous, taking marines and converting them into Robed Plague Doctors ascetic, with shambling zombies) 10 - Kommandos (octarius) Not all that I was thinking of doing, example of a Nurgle Nid force that will be built as a mutant/chaos abomination force (using Hivefleets rules) with a Brood Covens side dish representing the "victims" of the outbreak. All of this meant for my own narrative story.
I know you have a Necron army Jay and I respect that you didn't just take a squad of Immortals and say "yup, Necron kill team done!". When you have the full set of teams you're going to have to arrange a tournament to see who's supreme!
hey jay! i have been watching your stuff for months! if its cool can you probably make a guide or something for skin? all your sisters got really nice skin tones and hoping that youll be able to probably drop some tips :>
The different ones i got is: Dark Angels, Iron hands, Salamamders, Blood Angels, Grey knights, Deathwatch, Space Wolves, Black Legion, Word Bearers, Emperors Children, Thousand sons, Death Guard, Blood Letters, Necrons and Tau Empire.
These all look great! I’ve been trying to do something similar in getting a Kill Team for every faction. I think all I’m missing models for are Grey Knights, Kroot, Tyranid Warriors (have some ‘stealers) and Dark Eldar. It’s been a great to sample each 40K faction from a painting/modelling perspective.
Kill team makes me want to have a small army of everyone just in some custom way and then roll dice against someone, just something about it feels so great!
I'll do my best to list my own in no particular order... 1. Admech (Styges-7) 2. Wych Cult (Cult of Strife) 3. Kabal (Poisoned Tongue) 4. Tau (Vi'orla) 5. Death Watch 6. Space Wolves 7. Genestealer Cult (Pauper Princes) 8. Tyranids (Hydra) 9. Necrons (Novokh) I think that's all my completed teams, I've got more in the works as I paint them.
I have 35 10 man kill teams… They are All Deathwatch and the origin of the kill team so they still count. ;) Lol Jokes aside your KillTeams look awesome, really love the effort that’s been made and character they have because of it.
Before I watch the video, I have 2 tactical marine teams (Wolf Spears and a team of beakies no specific chapter), 1 Renegade CSM (Sons of Malice), one CSM not painted/given a chapter, a Night Lords CSM, a team of Warp Coven, a Blood Letter team, a Squats Imperial Guard (proxy of Mantic Steel Brotherhood), an AdMech team, 3 Ork/Gretchin teams, a flexible Tau team that can either be all Pathfinders/drones or have Stealth Suits added, and I think that's all I have done right now. I have so many as I wanted to make sure my friends didn't have to buy any and I would have options for anyone that randomly wanted to join in with us at the Barcade on Sunday nights. Edit: spelling
If you like the elite tank death guard then you would probably like the custodes and sisters of silence. I play them in kill team and they wipe out anything but death guard and tyranid warriors almost instantly
love the idea of having a lot of kill teams all the way from kill team one but the way the rules worked when building a team wasn't the best. so even if i'm sad to see it change the new way is better
Those Death Guard are amazing, you mentioned a few times you painted them during a stream - do you remember which one? Would love to see how you did those.
Since fallen seem to be heavily nerfed in the new csm codex it would be cool for them to be brought into kill team as their main game thing… also I really wish we could use gellerpox infected again…
hey Jay, was just catching up on models and memories and loved you talking about the gathering storm books, did you ever finish them or give your thoughts on them?
Dont forget you have a bunch of necrons. I imagine you want to build and paint some specific for kill team but if you ever wanted too you do have them lol
So far I have.. Tyranid, phobos, vanguard, imperial guard, veterans, breachers, pathfinders, fire warriors, Reiver, Five Tactical marine kill teams, necron, and ecclesiasry. Nearly have a traitor marine kill team, working on a stealth suit kill team, as well as a rogue trader Era death guard. Tacs are rtb01 2nd edition starter, Macragge Marines, Black Reach marines, the Dark Angel starter Marines, and slowly building a all Rogue Trader Artificer Armor kill team. I've lost my damn mind. Oh, and I'm working on finding rogue trader Bad Moons, led by that fantastic Bad Moon boss with the tassels. God those are expensive.
Howdy sir! How did you get that gold for the Night Lords there? That is some of the coolest looking gold I have seen on a miniature. Great contrast! You did an amazing job?
I wanna give KT a go. I just picked up the First strike box and the Tactical Squad box. Wonder if I can make the same list as that Incursors list at 1:52 Curious what's in that list.
Its fun to hear how untrue the statements of alot of these teams. Many of the teams stated are "good" are actually extremely bad teams. like Death Guard and Intercessors, Regular Orks..list goes on XD
it was the 2022, Kill team balance data slate, it was kind of hidden in a Warhammer article: www.warhammer-community.com/2022/03/07/the-legionary-butcher-might-just-be-the-deadliest-operative-in-kill-team/

Also no need for friends to have one as they can just loan one of yours.
It’s pronounced tons
You should definitely look into the warp coven kill team, having 3 sorcerer in a kill team is a blast and they nailed the tzeentch randomness feel of the thousand sons in the rules!

stop it he gotta finish the ones he has first hahaha
EoB: "NO ONE has More Kill Teams than Me!"
Multitude of 40K nerds: "Hold my recaf."
I'm now at 10 working kill teams of different factions... I have a coffe problem...
As someone who painted up a Deathwatch-esque Chaos Warrior Killteam recently: I can tell you 6 bodies instead of 5 is fantastic!
The Black Templar Reivers are absolutely beautiful. The black templars logo on their face is such a nice touch. Can’t believe I haven’t seen anybody do something like that before.
I love kill team as I don’t have to get a massive army and can have a few different teams and it’s a great game to play that does not take hours
Recently gotten into Killteam. I have the Sisters Novitiates which are a blast to play, the Ork Kommandos which are a joy to paint and the Krieg which look awesome. Loving it!

5. Ork Kommandos - built but I have a buddy who plays Orks so I again won't play them much
6. Death Guard - I enjoyed building and painting these so much I've got a small 40k army now.
7. Commorites - mixed Wyches and Kabalites, pretty fun but also a bit too strong for friendly
8. Scions - 10 Scions now built, sometime mixed with my Krieg to play compendium guard for friendly games.

love that NJM shoutout. He needs to be one of the most viewed mini youtubers out there. His techniques and presentation are next level.
I can’t afford more than 1 kill team so this title is factual from my perspective.
The collection is very inpspring, i was thinking about kitbashing a primaris deathwatch killteam for a long, an your example is truly great!
the stealth suit kit rules, they could revamp it by keeping the design as it is and just improve posability
Wow, how did you paint these death guard plague marines? They look amazing! do you have a video on that?
He does.
th-cam.com/video/QdPFW3mcSsY/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=EonsOfBattle
You'll hwve to dig up the livestreams since they were done there.
I second this

Really enjoyed your stories behind each team and the level of painting!
As someone who gets too nervous to do the live streams (I don't know how to interact, autism) it's nice to finally see all the kill teams I was getting notifications for!
My brother and I are working on kill teams for every faction we're interested in with intents to bump them up to combat patrols and then crusades.
You don't need to interact, you can just tune in and watch. Treat it like watching a TV show
That Death Guard color scheme might be the best I’ve seen. Niceeeee.
I started out with a Necron and Death Guard Kill Teams, as I was collecting them already for big 40K. Man, your painting is just incredible. Fun to see all your projects rapid fire like this
Those look awesome, amazing work! I bought my first kill team box in February (Octarius starter set) and I've painted all the Orks and half of the Kriegers so far and I'm looking forward to start playing with them!
I also made my tau stealth battle suit leader put his hand up like he was telling his comrades to sneak around.
I have a dream of printing and painting every compendium kill team

You couldn't link a brother to some STLs, could ya?
I will point to this video when my friends say I have to many kill teams lol though I'm only 2.5- 3 behind you
I love the colour schemes from these! Well done, you've inspired me to try and make my own kill teams :D
At this point Jay is collecting Kill Teams like how General Grievous collects lights sabers. "A FINE ADDITION TO MY COLLECTION!"
Very nice collection that you have their. Were is the FAQs that add the extra bodies to various killteams? I've been looking for these but been having no luck.

This video has inspired me to start a nightlords kill team
I love the paint scheme for the Night Lords.
Wait what did I miss, what errata gives the Space Marines an extra body?
are space marine killteams 6 now? I didn't see anything about that in the January errata
Same question. Just checked the website and no new errata either. Maybe he knows more than we do!
I'll do my best to list my own in no particular order...
1. Admech (Styges-7)
2. Wych Cult (Cult of Strife)

I really like this video. It’s awesome getting to see your painting abilities. Everything looked amazing
Cool video! Would've loved to see the Catachans though :D
I have 18 Kill Teams at the moment. 7 of them are fully built but not painted.
damn, first wife flexes, then KT flex,
I have 35 10 man kill teams…

Wow really Nice! I also have 14 kill teams... but only 3 painted 🤣
those deathguard have an awesome paint job. I think they have some of the cooler looking models too
Started my krieg, but unsure how to build the roster. Mind sharing your setup?
Me and my friends have 6 kill teams each, at the end of every battle you roll a D6 to see what kill team you'll be using next time.
that sounds like so much fun!
@@EonsOfBattle here's mine
1) Deathwatch Veterans
2) Adepta Sororitas
3) Chaos Space Marines
4) Death Guard
5) Thousand Sons
6) Necrons
@@EonsOfBattle forgot to mention the winner rolls 2D6 and gets to choose which they'd rather play
For deathwatch u could potentially use helmets to make them even more badass
I love the recurring thing that Jay can't mentioned Marco Frisoni without imitating his voice.
A member of our club has 15 teams, but more impressive, he has played them all haha
I look forward to that finished Wyrmblade, that’s what I’m currently grinding through!

I swear, you paint the best Black Templars. But I mean, it is to be expected for someone with 100k+ points of Black Templars. :P
