Making a Helldivers Killteam

- I've been playing a lot of Helldivers 2 and wanted to make a squad of them that I could use in killteam, and here's how I did it.
If you wanna keep up with what I do between videos, you can find my other social media here: linktr.ee/dumbrobotstuff

*Allied destroyer has joined squadron* Good work soldier, now how about a nice cup of LIBER-TEA!?
Hi Pete. Can you remove all of the swearing and petulant manchildren from your Discord server please?
Thanks! Just doing my part for super earth🫡

As much as I love seeing pro-level painters and kitbashers, it’s very refreshing seeing someone with a more achievable skill level, it shows me that I could totally do this stuff
My goal isn't to win any golden demons or anything, just make some cool stuff, and show others how they can do the same too
I agree it is super refreshing. Its also nice because the set feels more helldivers themed, rather than just actually helldivers.
@@DumbRobotStuff-fh6dz Please keep at it! I've subbed for this very reason - you're not doing insane shit with a million different tools, just getting really great results using techniques that are accessible to most people! Cheers :)
If this becomes an army, I can only imagine how the enemy would witness hundreds of droppods falling all at once over their heads with Stratagems dropping weapons, turrets, mechs, and orbital/aerial strikes.
Hundreds of drop pods - isn't that just good ol' space marines? XD They do plenty of turret drops, mechs, orbital bombardments and everything else too. For the Emprah and Liber-Tea!
Tempestus scions are a much better analogue
@@synegg9414Not really.
Yes primaris marines drop with just jetpacks but old marines drop from orbit @@starhammer5247
Imagine all the friendly fire
That isn’t
what an impressive team of helldivers, i'm sure their deployment to The Creek and beyond will go perfectly well!
hell yeah, super terra`s finest bringing democracy into the galaxy o7
For the decals it must have been VERY convenient that the Helldivers iconography is seemingly derived directly from Astra Militarium iconography.
They are quite similar, but it makes sense, skulls always make for cool iconography
I built 38 helldivers but have no capes, no railguns, no atte, they have their hoses, in fact they are straight from the box. Well done have some democracy 👏
Id pay to watch 10 hell divers with their actual kits and own data sheets fight a 500 points tyrannid game.
Because in lore, 50 helldivers alone took Cyberstan. Can you imagine what they’d do in 40K?
This is 1/5th of a planetary invasion force.
Threats in helldivers do not match that of 40k, yes the helldivers are impressive in there universe but aren't shit to the threats of the 41st century
@@michaelcygan2995*millennium (yes, I'm gonna be THAT guy.)
@@michaelcygan2995 erm... it'd be the 401st century....
@@FireWarrior2013 I think the guy below you just became THAT guy. you are just a "that guy" now XD
Just like 40K helldivers lore may be subject to propaganda
This turned out so well! I love seeing your conversion skills on small units like kill teams. More of this please!
I probably will do more like this, killteams always make for good conversion material
Just looking at the thumbnail makes me want to get a Kasrkin box
if the imperium of man had a sense of humor, it could totally be helldivers.
The days of federation?
The humor is not in either one of the universes themselves, but from the absurdity of it that the viewer understands.
Okay these look fantastic, but if you want Helldivers gameplay in kill team you should probably find a way to run them as Veteran Guardsmen instead of Kasrkin. Get that heavy artillery support.
I was unaware of that part of the veteran guardsman rules, will have to try playing them as that next time I have a game, thanks
@@DumbRobotStuff-fh6dz They really are the best for Helldivers in KT, the Spotter can call in mortar strikes, their ancillary options have air support, and their gunners have weaponry that match Helldivers as well: flamethrower, grenade launcher, plasma (which I think matches the railgun pretty well) and a melta. Really the only thing is that the melee operatives don't match Helldivers, but I can totally imagine a powersword or chainsword in that universe as well.
@@krkngd-wn6xj Helldivers added a saber at some point. It glows slightly blue as well.
I’m 2 sec away from doing this now this is amazing
The HellDiver team invading 40K Warhammer i love it. Nice work mixing the styles together.
The stripes on the helmets are totally needed . That would sell it perfectly
Tau Commander: "Look! The Imperium's Space Marines are coming! Look so much drop pods are commig for us!
Guardsman bleeding in the ground: "That's... That's the thing... Xeno scum. Those ain't the Angels of Death. The pods are too... Smal."
Tau: "Then who are they, human?"
Guardsman: "... Reinforcements."
Helldiver: "HOW ABOUT A CUP OF LIBER-TEA!!!"
Dangit.
Now i want to make a Helldivers miniature game.
Skydivers: Earth
Helldivers: Super Earth
Giga Earth?
no.
Helljumpers: Reach
Space Marine
Dwarves
Stardivers
Real nice job on this kitbash. It seems like there's a lot of options if you wanted to make it a full army, you can use the SEAF guys for regular guardsmen, any of the Patriot walkers for Sentinels, the leaked APC as a Chimera, you could use any of the buddy system weapons for a heavy weapons teams, and you've got 2 different fliers. It might not make a good list, but you would at least have some variety.
PLEASE make this a full army!!! Maybe enlist the help of some other hobby TH-camrs.
Yeah literally an army of Helldivers is like 50 dudes. That’s how many - in lore - took cyberstan.
First gen helldivers were far better trained than the Cannon folder the ones in 2 are @@mastergmoore
I would honestly love to see more divers or even a team of automatons seeing how many of the units could be recreated
very nice. on printables someone has the platform from the drop pod as coaster, scaled down, that would make a fun base option or at least terrain parts.
Dude that's a gorgeous kitbash! The recoilless dupe and especially that backpack feel straight out of the Helldiver universe. I keep wanting arrowhead to license with lego to make super destroyers because my desire to own more is pretty high.
imperial guard was around a long time before The Starship troopers movie, so if anything its the movie that took inspiration for 40K Way more likely when you consider tyrranids vs. bugs And the movie is very very different from the book, which would be more like 40k dreads
Oh my bad then, thanks for letting me know. I knew the book was an early/influential sci-fi work, and always heard the cadian armour was based on mobile infantry but probably should've confirmed it
only the movie is based on the book which predates 40k by a good 2 or so decades. the armor is described loosely in the media and IP it's from. those that worked for GW were inspired by parodies of 1984 and the like. this is a natural evolution where both drew heavy inspiration from each other. to say GW had the idea first is laughable since the theme for the space marine of Heinlein, had the same or precise kit that cadians eventually had, and that was a rogue trader guardsman, and that also got early inspiration for alien marines, and also possibly predator as well.
so... yes but no.
@@DumbRobotStuff-fh6dz you aren't exactly or technically wrong thinking one or both inspired the other. this is a technicality. GW was and is still heavily inspired by popular culture and media. it was and still is a parody in regards to dystopian futures. hence what grimdark means.
technically space marines of Heinlein existed 30 years before GW existed. so technically imperial guard did not exist before the other IP.
@@UltraRealTrueJesus except if you actually read the book (or even looked at the orginal cover) you would know the infantry in the book are basically solo squads and as in my original comment more equivalent to a dreadnought. Book infantry very very different than movie infantry. The movie is "based on" the book in only the loosest terms. Movie is just modern fascist style , which is also where 40k went for style themes.
This is so damn good that this became the nail in the coffin for my 30 Kasrkin and 3 Baneblade Army. They are gonna be Helldivers theme!
This truly inspired me mate ❤️ Amazing job and i hope you are ok with me lending your awesome ideas in this video ❤️

Amazing work, im going to try something similar with the capes in the future, i hope you get the recognition you deserve and can't wait to see future builds
It’s been enjoyable watching these develop on stream. Excellent work as always.
I saw these on Instagram, or Reddit, now I see the making of, woo! Beautiful models
Amazing job, this helldiver's team is Badass
so creative! i love your dedication to this, and your resourcefulness
Democracy has landed!
The crossover that NEEDED to happen
Not played the game yet but these look dope! Great work man :D
Nice to see that these videos are doing well despite the low sub count, hopefully that changes soon to 'w'
That looks so good! I really like how they turned out, and the amount of effort you did to replicate the weapons from the game is awesome!
Amazing work. Top to bottom. Thank you for making such an in-depth guide!
For Super Terra!
Beautiful and brilliant! Great conversion, thank you for doing your part citizen!
This is absolutely incredible!! I would love to see an army of this theme made! Makes me want to do the same!!

no divers left behind. if they can't dive, i won't dive!
if you wanted to homebrew for more immersion, you could bring in some "stratagems" as reskinned psycher abilities and start with only four models on the field and a limited number of re-deploys.
I thought it was a 40k game when I first heard about it. As in, the 31st Harakoni Warhawks (Helldivers). Ive been planning on making a airborne guard themed army for ages. Have a pile of 3D printed grav chutes and everything.
Imagine a space marines region based on helldivers, specialized in 4 man squad missions and they carried it out in the most hazardous environments, that would be cool
Man, those look super awesome great job , FOR DEMOCRACY!/ FOR THE EMPEROR!
Sweet Liberty! This is so cool! On top of it the Creek basing turned out awesome. Thx for sharing
A neat thing is you can make the armor look more like scalemail and you could simply state it's the vitrian dragoons.
Yo that BT one at the beginning is epic
Thanks, if you wanna see more, I've got a video on how I made that one as well
Tana?
No, Commissar. This is called "LIBER-TEA"!
*distant aquilla screech*
incredible work. so much creative customization and attention to detail.
Simply amazing. Great job!
These are so good. Makes me want to get back into warhammer.
This is an incredible walkthrough on your whole thought process. Thank you, I’ve learned a lot!
I saw your post of this on tiktok! The Guard Dog is still my favorite; using Space Marine backpacks for the thrusters is a stroke of genius. Hats off, sir.
These are amazing! Very striking colors and amazing execution!
The only thing I don't like here are the plants on all the bases, the models are really understated in a perfect manner but it makes the vegetation really overpowering. Maybe plants on one third of the bases would have been better. Or a smaller scale for them.
Models are really nice though. I'd love to see someone freehand in game designs on capes for models like these but the given solution is perfect for these model with this paint scheme.
These look amazing. Colour scheme is very enticing, as opposed to the candy colours of regular space marines which make them look like a united colours of Benetton catalogue
Yes- more-
Turned out amazing!
You know I was planning to make some scions into helldivers but just from seeing this thumbnail I have to follow in your footsteps they so good
I've been working on a Helldivers Codex so it's great to see actual models of these!
Great job! If you want to try something finicky, you might be able to place two tiny strips of tape as a mask on the helmets, and then paint the stripes.
The CEO for Arrowhead actually specified that he is a huge Warhammer fan and a lot of inspiration actually comes from the Warhammer universe.
Excellent job mate, these turned out perfect
great video. good narration and production quality. subbed!
That's some fine work, they looked spot on
This is fantastic and I would order this in a heartbeat
A lot of Sci Fi movies and games took from StarShip Troopers, since the book came out in 1959.
Love this so much man. Would love to see you make a mech squad some day with Dreadnought parts !
Slapping the magnet under the capes is super smart, and im also surprised how good the Tau railrifle barrel fits a las/hellgun. Simple but super effective conversion work, while im not a fan of the recent mono-pose model kits, their detailing is just amazing.
This is Liber-tea!
Great conversions!

Awesome ! The captain, the autocanon guy and the sniper are so great :) Nice bases choice !!
Those came out perfect. You absolutely nailed it
Ohh I saw this set in reddit and thought wow what I'd do to get one, fine work dude!
If you ever decide to make an army for them please do show us, this was a treat to watch through, amazing work!
Unreal work man with the creative kitbashing they look great
i have been waiting for this, and you didn't disappoint!
Spoil some oil, Helldiver! Let's get some liber-tea!
This is some impressive creativity bossman
Reinforce ready. 'UP, DOWN, RIGHT, LEFT, UP' - Reinforcements incoming. Good work soldier!
For Managed Democracy ! FOR THE EMPORER !
These are great! I think I saw the reddit post and i’m gonna say that this has inspired me to paint mine as helldivers too. Above and beyond though for the conversions! Great work
These look fucking awesome. Great work.
I love the way you're made the capes and then how you put them on. That is an AMAZING idea!!!

Great conversions 👍👍👍

They all look great, i think the only small detail missing for me is the ammo pack for the dudes auto cannon
this is great stuff, well done man
Followed you here from Twitter, awesome work!
I LOVE THIS, amazing work. I'm now tempted to do something like that for my Votann.
look great, really like the look of the demolition expert
How does this only have 53 views??? Your stuff is so goooodddd 😭😭
Man, inquisitorial storm troopers are looking good! Great work :)
Now i want a Helldivers army.
And i will print it. Specially because i found Helldivers minis already.
This looks incredible, but the most helpful bit for me was actually the advice for the yellow on black paint scheme. I paint Battletech minis, and I'm planning to put together a list that's painted with a paint scheme similar to the Helldiver look you went with here. On my test mini, though, it looked like a mess and wasn't sure how to make it look right. The insights you've given here should hopefully make my pain a little easier, thank you ^^
Yeah, painting yellow isn't usually easy, especially over black, but they yellow paint I used(averland sunset) has good coverage, and I stuck with the old reliable multiple thin coats, hope it helps
You make super earth proud
Very creative work, thanks for sharing soldier. 🫡
Excellent converversion job!
