    Stuck little hex element set screws, applied liquid wrench, no dice. Thank you thank you for the tip about using the 1/4''drill to extract the little screws. It worked!! Also once old element was out THIS is the time to clean the oven! Even cold stove, spray Easy Off or similar, trick let it sink in 4-5 hours, wipe out like new, my 34 year old Kenmore, all ready for post man to deliver the new baking element that should match like a glove. Yes, ready for new cooking life! Thanks for great simple video, good job man!

    This video gave me the confidence (68 year-old, slightly disabled Great-Grandma) to do my own element replacement. Once I found the model number and part number, ordered replacement from Amazon, and received new element, I proceeded to follow this video. My only issue was trying to lean into oven, fiddle with little connectors, and see what I was doing.
    So, I pulled off the cover on the back and very easily connected things from the back. Much easier, then replaced the cover and replaced the element screws. Highly recommend this option. Thank you for the basics. It was very helpful.

    Thank you for your video so helpful .I was up from 3:45 till 7:30 A.M. cleaning my oven and after all that it wouldn't get hot . I almost had a panic attack but thanks to you I found out with all that serious cleaning I had pulled a wire from one side of the element. I took the back off and reconnected it and now my oven is clean and working fine. THANKUJESUS YOU SOOOOOOOO MUCH...

    Thanks so much! I'm a stay at home mom & hubby's been working long hours. We already had the new element because it had burned out years ago, but the whole oven was replaced before the heating element arrived. We had saved it all these years, so when it burnt out this morning, I was hoping it would be simple enough for me to do. I loved the tool tip, extremely easy after raiding hubby's toolbox. Only thing that didn't go as smoothly was that my connectors disappeared after disconnecting them. I had to remove the back panel (also easy to do with the changeable screwdriver) and fish the connectors back through. Now it's as good as new and I did it without help and hubby doesn't have to worry about it when he comes home exhausted later! Thanks again!!!

      I was thinking along these lines also. Tape the disconnected wires oe temporarily clamp some vise grips onto the terminals to keep the wires from falling back thru the holes.

    Thank you, good sir, for this immensely helpful video! I replaced our element today, using your advice (SO much easier to use the electric-screwdriver socket than a bit!!) and a little help from my husband. And then I baked a batch of cookies tonight because, I mean, if that's in the manual it's in the manual -- and I am now flexing like Rosie the Riveter! Thank you!!

    Awesome job. This video is 100% helpful. I did the replacement in 15 minutes. Nothing difficult other than leaning into a dark oven (as breaker was off). Flashlights never work well in tight spaces and no one to hold and point it.

    This it the second time I've replaced my baking element in my stove (it's been about 10 years since I replaced the last one). I always forget about using a drill to remove those tiny hex screws! It's nice to spend $20 to fix my oven instead of buying a new one. Thanks for the clear and concise video

    I sent this to my son along with a couple of other videos and he thought this was very helpful. The only thing not mentioned was how to take off the oven door, but there are videos on You Tube for this. (I took off the oven door for him and would have replaced the elements, but am due for cataract surgery next year.) Highly recommend this video.

    Reminds me when I replace my mother's built-in oven element about 15 years ago. The oven was 25+ years old then, and NO ONE had the element. I finally went to a local hardware store that has been around forever, and just kinda browsing around, I looked up and hanging on the wall up high was the exact element I needed! I had them take it down and you can tell by the dust outline on the wall that it has been hanging there for years. Obviously this was before Amazon was as it is now.

    • @sixtyfiveford
      @sixtyfiveford  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      They built stuff amazingly well back then and I'm sure you were one of the few that needed to replace that part. Amazon and the like have really spoiled us, but so many people would still rather throw stuff out at the first sign of trouble.

    A good video but would advise to throw breaker, remove the back to unplug the wires to insure they are not damaged and to make installation easier. Same tool needed as the element. This insures that the reconnect is good and prevents damage to the wires. Reverse the procedures to install.

      sixtyfiveford Sadly it did take more than 15 minutes. My stove is a Kenmore, the element is attached by a screw so we had to pull out the stove and remove metal plate and undo the screw to removed damaged element. Luckily we did not force the removal. Then the hole in the replacement element was too small for the screw, but we were able to enlarge it without damage. Not much more than 15 minutes once we figured out what we were dealing with. Certainly a huge money savings! Thanks again!

    Thank you so much! I am learning to do things myself. I tried to use a tiny wrench but I will get my drill out and get it done. I did pay $61 for mine. Wish I had thought of this before I shopped:)

      @billiechristen5770 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes that is true. I was going to pay my neighbor to do it. I thought for sure it would require removing the back of the stove.

    • @sixtyfiveford
      @sixtyfiveford  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If your neighbor has trouble with the small connectors, they can pull of the sheet metal off the back. It is held on by a few screws. It allows easier access to the wire connectors.

      How did you know the correct model of which replacement part to get without moving the back of the stove?

    • @sixtyfiveford
      @sixtyfiveford  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The model number of your stove should be at the top inside of the oven door. Google your model number and you'll find part schematics for your oven/heating element. More than likely it is the same one I have listed in the video description.

    • @sixtyfiveford

      They take a good yank sometimes to get them off.

    I need help. My family has a kenmore electric range stove top oven we got from my late maternal grandmother, who owned it before us. It's white, with the heat going up to 550. The dials go from, facing the oven left to right, heating dial, range burner dials, and timer. We looked over that oven for the model number, and it's not there. Maybe you know what model it is????
